I just watched them.

Granted, it was in a room full of small children who wouldn't be quiet, so I need to give them a re-watch.

But from what I saw, they were very good, in the same way the Dune movie by Denis Villeneuve is good; it's willing to sacrifice perfect accuracy to the original text for a better story on-screen. And it does it well.

Very fun, and I will definitely be watching the rest of it.

I think it does that in the way that adaptations need to. They need to focus on getting the ideas, the themes and the essence of the characters into the story. They need to tell a good story that focuses on the intentions of what it's adapting over the specific things.

The new trailer is out.

It's like everyone looks cool and stuff.

Meanwhile, there's Lin Manuel Miranda in his hoodie in the casino. Five bucks says he's drinking with Daveed Diggs there and singing.

OML yessss

did anyone watch the third episode yet?? Lin singing in an elevator is SO UNHINGED🤣😭 *hysterical laughter*

I am so excited. I really like both episodes. My only complaint is that I feel like Luke didn’t get enough time showing him as a friend to Percy, but we will see

Yeah I kinda felt that too, for those who are watching it without reading the books (scandalous) it'll probably make later plot seem a little off...ah, well. I did love where he called Annabeth his sister though, that was an awesome moment that just makes him such a better character for all of everything, I think.

True. I think they did a good job with the time they had. It’s the contrast.

Yeah they keep the same story but have to chang e a few things for the screen. It’s what Harry Potter movies did and it seems it’s being replicated here! I’m excited.

Oh my gosh.

I didn't mention it here.

I've seen the first four and... I have thoughts.

For one thing, I think that they need to have more book moments that are true to what the book had happen. I want there to be changes, yes, but I also think that key moments need to remain untouched. My friend said the same thing at episode two, but I was willing to let it slip by then because I thought it would be closer to the book throughout. It feels less so... but also more like how it could have been if they'd thought about things a little bit more. Annabeth feels very different from the Annabeth I know and love, but she always seems a bit different at different reads.

Grover is probably the biggest improvement from the movies. I loved Grover in the movies, but HE WAS NOT GROVER. He was turned into a wacky sidekick like Ron and that is not who Grover is *breathes in, breathes out.* Now, this Grover is actually really good and I love him. I think he needs to be a slight bit more timid, but overall I love him.

One thing I want to mention that I did not like is... Medusa. That sequence, isolated from the entire Percy Jackson series, is a good scene. Brought to bear with the entire series... Idk, man, idk. I feel like they need to be really careful here. I want them to show that the gods have reasons for what they do and give an actual reason why Percy and co. are fighting for the gods. Ares, I think, did the best job at this in the books, showing off how terrible the gods are while also showing that they are not all bad. Hades also does a wonderful job at this, but I haven't seen him yet. Medusa's whole thing was entirely unnecessary. And it would've been entirely good IF THEY HAD ACTUALLY STATED THE WHOLE STORY LIKE THEY NEEDED TO SO THAT PEOPLE AREN'T CONFUSED. YA KNOW? But that's just me...

Lin was awesome, nuff said.

*giggles*

y’all maybe I should stop watching things late at night. And maybe stop having feelings, that would help.

Call it cheesy all you want, I thought that last episode was awesome.
