Star was crying. Xino had just… left her there. “You coward!” she yelled after him, watching him flee into the forested arena. Her voice was faint; blood was seeping from her back and into the ground beneath her. She was all but done for and he had left her. As her breathing increased, so too did he heartbeat and the blood flow. It hurt. It hurt so bad. And she would die here, alone, cut down by her own companion.

Do you want help or do you want to have Star die and take over RedShirt2? I could have Tani come back and help Star if you want.

Vapor ran through the forest, heading back to her camp. She had found some berries, but they were probably poisonous. She approached where she remembered setting up, then stopped.

“What are you doing in my camp?”

No, Xino is coming back for her

She stared up at the black abyss that was the cornucopia’s ceiling, tears streaming down her cheeks. She’d wanted to die with Xino at her side. Instead, he was her vanquisher. What in the world had possessed him to decide to kill her? Had it been the training? She recalled one session, finding her friend all but catatonic, staring at the weapons. She’d put her hand on his shoulder. “You okay?”

“The void calls,” he’d whispered.

Where was that boy? The one who’d held her hand as they were presented to the capitol. The one who wrote poetry and nearly cried when she’d volunteered to go to the games with him.

“And what’s so special about your relationship with Xino,” the interviewer had asked, “that you’d sacrifice your life to be with him? Only one of you can survive.”

”I know. But I wasn’t about to let him go alone. My uh… my boyfriend passed away last summer. Xino is all I have left.”

“Dear God. That’s awful, Star. Ain’t that just awful, folks? So… we did some research. You and Xino both have depression, is that right? Do you think you might see this as a sort of way out?”

Star had nodded hesitantly, finding herself tearing up. “Yeah… yeah, I guess so.”

“But not like this…” she said in the present. “Never like this…”

"Some foxes came and took it all."

Xino fell out of the tree.

Sequence picks non-poisonous fruit from a tree.

Sequence breathed in and out heavily. She had been running away from the cornucopia for, what, thirty minutes? She wanted to be 100% certain that she was far enough away before stopping to rest. She walked over and slumped against a tree. As her back hit the trunk, the tree shook and something fell on her head. Sequence blinked and looked up. Right above her was a seemingly ripe bunch of pink-ish berries. She tilted her head. Were they poison? There was no way to know. Sequence decided to collect them, but save them as a sort of last resort.

Can you do Fadran and Queen as well, perchance?

I'm gonna do one of all of us :3 it won't be super detailed since it will be everyone, but if anyone wanted to give me a brief description of their character's appearance so i have something to go off of, that'd be cool :D

Star is a little on the thicker side, with blue eyes and a blonde pixie cut.

Xino is very tall with short cropped brown/black hair, brown eyes, and rectangular glasses.

Edit: I just realized I have glasses too...

He'd run off too fast. With one hand he clutched to a branch, and with the other he rummaged through the supplies. There was barely enough food to last him a couple days, and even less water than that.

But he wasn't the least bit worried about himself.

You're okay, right? Fadran pinched the bridge of his nose, breathing sharply. You have to be okay. You're okay.

His eyes were fixed on the sky, waiting for the cannons to sound and roll off the lost tributes.

Maybe he shouldn't have picked to wait in a tree of all things.

I should probably get somewhere more sheltered...knowing Fadran, he's in a tree. Not a bad idea, I guess. With an impossible hope that being in a tree would help her to find him, Queen climbed the nearest sheltered tree.

The only thing the simulator gave me to do was...be thought about. So yeh.

Morningtide kept walking through the grass. She was SOOOOO bored. NO. Bored is good. Not bored means dying or dead. Morningtide heard something rustle in the grass, silently cursing herself for tempting fate by being bored. It was Exp! "Oh thank goodness! I was starting to get worried that you were..." Morningtide trailed off as she saw the look on Exp's face. "...Exp?" She whispered. Experience lunged toward her and Morningtide bolted. She was faster than him, but he could take her in a fight if he caught her. She ran until she collapsed of exhaustion, then cried herself to sleep.

Star wondered how long it would take for her to die and whether anyone would find her here and finish the job Xino had started. She tried not to move at all, but her back ached like it had a fire lit under it. She had mostly curtailed her sobs, but every time she thought of Xino's betrayal and subsequent flight, she just... She'd known the boy for years, thought she knew him better than anyone else. But apparently even she could not have foreseen such a terrible turn of events. Apparently he didn't care for her like she'd thought he did; like how she cared for him.

But maybe... maybe he'd come back. Maybe he'd feel poorly about what he'd done. It was a frail hope, but Star held onto it, willing her friend to remember her in her time of need.

Nameless rested in the woods, taking stock of his supplies. "A bag of explosives, a couple berries that I'm pretty sure aren't poisonous, and the clothes on my back. Not a great start." He smiled ruefully, wondering what his father would think of his terrible survival skills. '"He always did wish I spent less time tinkering and more time learning 'practical skills'. Maybe he was right. If I'd spent more time with him, maybe I'd have more of an idea what I'm doing." Tears stung his cheeks as he thought of better days. Days before his father had died, and the world had gone sideways. Days before he'd been chosen for the hunger games, chosen to be killed while the whole world watched. Shaking his head abruptly, Nameless wiped the tears off his face and stood up. '"No use in just sitting here. I have to find a good spot to camp for the night. And some water too." He set off into the woods, trying to keep his mind on the present.

"Are you scared of ghosts?" Xino asked in a hushed tone of voice.
