Sigh... I suppose this is the downside of my first RP being decided by the arbitrary whim of a machine. I like that I died with Facepalm, it makes me think that Robin found a friend. Maybe I'll write a death scene later.

You could also write the finding-a-friend part...

Or the Reaping bits or bits of Capital life after you're dead. (Who ever said you had to stop posting after you died?)

The sky began to dim. The first day was over. Without much trouble, EmLee made it through. If it continued like this, winning might actually be easy!

Winning. What a word. It’s like the light at the end of the tunnel, if the tunnel killed twenty-three people for the heck of it. EmLee tuned her head to look into a camera she knew was imbedded in one if the trees, watching her. She wondered what it would be like to watch someone from her family on the TV, knowing they would almost certainly die. Of course, either her or Enter would die, so there was no way to spare her family the grief. Who would her parents grieve more? An impossible question. All EmLee knew is that she had to try her hardest to win - but if it came to it, she would not kill Enter.

Hopefully.

Don't take this the wrong way but it did feel a little godmoddy. Even if they were gonna die they'd usually have the chance to take part in the scene.

Experience decided to wait out the start of the games, and so was glad that He had told him to grab the bag of camping supplies.

After hiking for a while, Experience found some nice trees, and climbed up them. After an hour of hard work, he had managed to get a hammock attached to two trees about 50 feet up in the air. He tied his backpack to one of the trees and then dozed off.

Yeah, usually it's not encouraged to write the actions of other people's characters. It's part of what makes RPing fun! You don't know what they're going to do, so you get to respond kind of in real time.

Did it matter?

Well that solves the Void problem :P.

And this is so in line with Mat’s existing character, I love it

I’ll write my bit tomorrow, on mobile rn so I’d rather not tonight

Sequence tries to sleep through the entire day.

Sequence yawned and opened her eyes. She had found a nice cave-like hidout under a tree's roots the night before, and it was too good to leave behind. Sequence made sure she had her sword, popped a few berries from the day before into her mouth, and settled in for a long nap.

Well, if I can't get warm, I might as well do something. It's kind of boring just sitting here...

Queen stood up, about to head off into the unknown.

Wait. No. What am I thinking?? Boring is good. Boring means I'm not dying. And I don't want to die.

She plopped back down to the ground.

But...Fadran's out there. He could be in danger, he could be dying. If I go explore...I could find him...and be with him.

Her stomach growled.

And it'd be nice if I could find some food.

Shouldering the pack she'd made to carry her explosives--the only thing she'd gotten from the Games thus far--Queen set off.

Anyone wanna run into her? Go a little against the sim?

Napollo sat in between a cluster of trees, a shelter made of his shield and some vines, sticks, and various other things over his head. He heard a thump and grabbed his shield, sending a small parachuting object falling to the ground. He laughed at his surprise, then picked up the package, opening it. He pulled out the canister. He raised it to his lips and kissed it, nodding to the sky. "My thanks." Napollo put it back in the package and used the string from the parachute to build his shield-tarp better.

Vapor had cut a branch awkwardly to make a makeshift bow and was experimenting with it. I have no idea what I’m doing, she thought. As she missed another bird, she tossed down the bow and sighed. Maybe I could get some sleep and then try again. She covered herself with leaves and closed her eyes, hoping to wake in the morning.

Star convinces TalnFan to not kill her, only to kill him instead.

Star angrily snatched the bloody hatchet that Xino had left on the ground after trying to kill her. It would be fitting, wouldn't it, to kill him with the same blade with which he had tried to vanquish her. She knew in the back of her mind that her plan was insane. Xino was still her best friend. He had only tried to kill her because of the game. But the game was very real, she knew that now. There were no misguided fantasies about somehow winning the game; she was wounded, and she hadn't joined to win anyway. She wanted to die. It just made it all the easier that someone else would be so inclined to do the deed instead of having to do it herself.

She chose a random direction and started walking. Each step hurt like Mal, but it only made her more angry. And angry Star was not something anyone wanted to deal with. Her blue eyes were fire, her steps were stealthy, and her intent was deadly.

When she heard a rustle in the leaves, she crouched, readying her weapon.

@#1 Taln Fan

Quote

Okay, since Taln hasn't responded, I'm going to kill him on my own terms... It's more fun that way. >:)

A tall man dressed in the black and red game uniform burst from the bushes. He had a bow and arrow trained on her. "Don't move," he said, sweat on his tanned brow.

Star froze immediately, gripping her hatchet. She cursed in her head. But she wasn't dead yet, oh no, and she had noticed him shaking when he'd notched his arrow; he hardly held the weapon straight. She hoped to her god that she could use that against him. District nine, Star remembered. Grain production, farmers. He was muscular, yes, but nothing close to the musculature required of a district seven logger. Star may have been short, but she clocked in at a good two hundred and twenty pounds and she was holding a bloody hatchet. She was not a force to be trifled with and this boy knew it.

"Don't try it," Star growled. "You don't want to kill me." She held a hand out, inching forward slowly. Her boots crunched against sticks and leaves. The young man's eyes flicked to the ground for a moment and he bit his lip, clearly indecisive. If she could just get closer... "Run away before someone gets hurt. Don't lose your humanity."

"I..."

Star got closer.

"No! No, I have a family to get back to." He tightened his grip on the bow, the shaking growing worse.

"You think your family wants to see you murder a girl in cold blood?"

The farmer stepped backwards and tripped over something or other, landing in the bush he'd hopped out of. Branches snapped and he cried out, the fabric of his uniform ripping. His notched arrow flew upward into the distance, causing birds to fly out of the trees with a rustle of wings and leaves. Star readied her hatchet. The tables had turned in her favor. She'd survived her friend's betrayal, she was not about to let this man kill her once she'd turned her back. District nine's male tribute had the chance to scream and throw up his hands before Star slammed her axe into his chest. Blood flew. There was more of it than Star would have thought, even after the first blow. She hardly felt the pain any more, there was only blinding rage and tears.

This.
Slam.
Would.
Bones broke.
Be.
Drops of hot blood on her skin.
Xino's.
The boy was long dead.
Fate.

Fadran, Star takes Taln's bow, you could steal that. Otherwise, I dunno what she has that you'd want except for maybe the thread in her back and you definitely won't get close enough to get that. *shrug*

Was that Star over there? Fadran craned his neck, trying to peer through the branches.

That was definitely her. He contained a bit of excitement, dropping out of the tree and slinking through the foliage quietly. Hopefully she'd be open to cooperation: an ally could be invaluable at htis point. Until he could find Queen...

Blood splattered. Screams shook the atmosphere.

Fadran stopped.

Oh my gods.

That was... that was Taln. Bloodied. Broken. Sprawled in the grass.

A cannon fired.

Run. Star was grabbing a bow and arrow from him. He hadn't the faintest idea of how her aim was with that, but he wasn't just about ready to find out. Run. Run away. Run away NOW.

There was a small pack over there. By the way the straps had been adjusted, he could only assume it was hers. Fadran backed into the shadows again, but grabbed the supplies.

What in the world are you doing? A part of him demanded.

Fadran started running back to his tree.

That wasn't the Star he knew.

The Hunger Games, Mat found, were surprisingly boring.

As a kid he hadn't really seen them- his parents watched as little as they legally felt like they could, and kept Mat away from it for most of his younger years. Everything he had seen was action-packed and brutal. But Mat was sitting in a tree, doing absolutely nothing at all.

He wasn't complaining, though. He hadn't ever planned to look for a fight. If he could make it to the final three with his hands clean, then wait until the other two did themselves in, he'd be happy. The Capitol probably wouldn't, but Mat was caring less and less about that with every passing second of boredom.

He sighed, adjusting himself in the branches. Mat had revised his earlier dismissal of the trees, realizing that it was all about what tree you chose. This one was the right height and had properly obscuring foliage, and did its job well. He figured he could wait out most of the games up here if he wanted to; there was a stream nearby and enough berry bushes to last a good while.

It was extremely uncomfortable, though.

Mat sighed, lowering himself to the ground. Even if it was the best strategy, he found he couldn't force himself to stick to it. Mat had heard stories of tributes going nuts in the arena, and he'd figured it was from starvation or violence, but Mat felt like if he sat in a tree for a week he'd go crazy too. There had to be a better way to lay low and pass the time.

Ah, Mat thought, remembering something. Painting.

He called it painting, at least, though it was name his mentor had resented. Camouflage, she had said. It's just camouflage. Well, Mat had an artistic side, what could he say? Plus, calling it 'painting' at least let him pretend he was doing something normal.

Working quickly- the cannon from earlier had sounded far-awayish, but he also didn't know if that mattered, and there were plenty of other tributes- Mat picked his way through the undergrowth to the stream bank. He pulled out some large leaves and cupped them, then filled them with as much mud as he could. Mat nearly started right there, but considering the stream was likely a hotspot for other tributes decided against it. The bushes next to his tree would be better.

As he worked, he grew increasingly skeptical about this whole thing. Painting a mud mask had come naturally for him during the weeks of training, but that was out of the arena, with a mirror. During the games was an entirely different thing. Still, he did the best he could, and when he felt good about it he inserted himself into the bushes, allowing leaves to stick to his face. Hopefully, they'd aid his disguise.

What was he disguising himself from, again? He hadn't seen anyone since he had snatched the pack yesterday. Maybe it was less about the disguise and more about passing the time.

Well, he'd burned a bit of the day away. Now he got to sit in a bush.

Mat closed his eyes. This was going to be a long week.
