  1. @KevinTheHerdazian so true it's depressing the amount of rereads i've done on SA ! The worst part about series like Stormlight Archive is the wait between each release, don't get me wrong im not complaining against BrandonTheMachine it's just as a reader there are no books in the same league to help ease the gaps between releases.
  2. I think the plot to 'destroy' Adonalsium failed and instead it shattered. By which i mean the plan/weapon to destroy Adonalsium completely failed because it didn't destroy it, it merely shattered. If Adonalsium was once a single being/god then the Shards are differing parts of it IE: Odium, Honor, Preservation, Dominion, Devotion ect they all sound to me like the make up of somebody. Like these are all traits, when the sender of the second letter said Rayse bears the weight of "Gods own divine hatred." Wouldn't that mean that Tanavast held gods Honor and Aona held Gods Devotion. I cant find the WOB but Brandon said Splintered Shards can be repaired, in theory couldn't Adonalsium also be similarly repaired.
  3. I agree there is a deleted scene on brandons website from The Emperors Soul:
  4. I think he is Nale. He seems so well informed about everything, he has quite a few tricks up his sleeve: The mysterious reviving Fabrial he used to bring Szeth back from the dead. He new about the Larkin and their ability to suck Stormlight out from a Surgebinder and had possession of one even though they have been virtually extinct since the scourging of Aimia. He has a Shardblade and Surgebinding speed. There is also the comment he made about Jezrien drooling. I cant imagine somebody who claims to be so hung up on 'justice' to just give up and walk away and we know one of the Heralds returned after they abondoned the Oathpact and retrieved up their blade.
  5. The constant Investiture blowing around the globe probably strengthens the plant life and evolution probably plays a part. While they probably do have worse years and better years i think it would balance itself out rather well.
  6. Given Kaladin's track record she probably died.
  7. In a WOB somebody asked what would happen if Hoid held Nightblood unsheathed and would he feel sick. As we know anybody Nightblood determines is evil, feels drawn to the sword and once they pick it up the sword amplifies the persons bloodlust causing him or her to slaughter anyone nearby and then commit suicide. When asked Brandon just started laughing, HARD and responded RAFO. I always pictured Hoid as a very intelligent, slightly mad anti hero with a painful past. He seems to try and help whenever he can but he has a goal and will not be stopped from accomplishing it whatever the cost. (He's my favorite character) He seems to be the definition to 'Play the fool, to catch the wise'
  8. Doesn't really matter if you get them when they're are sleeping.
  9. Yeah Jasnah is like 34 years old so im sure they did, plus Dalinar said it then took him 3 years to court shshshs. So Gav and Nav married first. I wonder what happened ten years ago, Dalinar was experiencing the Thrill to the extreme he wanted to kill Gavilar take the throne and Navani. I cant find the quote but some thing Navani said makes me think he frightened Gavilar maybe that's why he didn't tell him about the Sons of Honor.
  10. Not to mention the second part, eh?
  11. Yeah it does sound like Shalash, going around smashing art works. Yeah makes me wonder what side affects the other Heralds are experiencing, in WOR Prologue somebody (commonly believed to be another Herald) is talking to Nale, saying how he is worried about 'Ash' and how he thinks 'he's getting worse'. I honestly think there is something that's effecting them. Hemalurgy possibly could exist on Roshar though just hasn't been shown thus far but i don't think that was the reason the man was there.
  12. Here i am minding my own business stalking the 17th shard on a grizzly Wednesday afternoon and see a link to my own post... feeling very smug
  13. Al the Shards that i know of,:
  14. No the Ghostbloods and Mr.T are not on the same side, i think they are working to oppose each other. The way the Ghostbloods are trying to kill Amaram who is a member of the 'Sons of Honor' makes me think they are also working against them. Im not sure how the SOH and the Diagram group regard each other considering the strong Gavilar connection... Mraize is from Thaylenah. (according to peter) I think it's possible he may be a Worldhopper under the guidance of Iyatil.
  15. Using perfect pitch to tune my radio
  16. I have been wondering that the lighteyes on Roshar have like supernaturally light eyes..whats interesting as well about the genetics as well is how the Heralds dont exactly fit into simply one class i.e. Makabaki, Shin, Alethi ect.
  17. Yeah she's not so bad i dont hate her but i don't particularly like her either. where does she rank on you SA characters? 1.Kal/Wit 2.Dalinar 3.Szeth 4.Mraize 5.Jasnah 6.Nale 7.Shallan 8.Axies 9.Iyatil 10.Taravangian
  18. I wish i never started *sigh* there's nothing better or worse for starting an incredible series from the beginning....the rereads...oh the rereads.
  19. Hahaha i do see a reoccurring pattern with her getting away with killing her own family members (fingers crossed for balat)
  20. @dvoraen that is so creepy i literally just reread that part haha Yeah i hate being wrong. He sent 1 letter telling them Tien had died and that he wouldn't be returning. I've just reread all the interludes and Hearthstone Chapters from Way of Kings and what i have discovered is that, I hate Roshone, I HATE Amaram, I hate Restares and Axies is just as funny as i remember. From rereading the chapters from Hearthstone i felt really bad for Laral but i genuinely really think she is going to be a proper Lighteyes now when she and Kaladin are reunited. I cant help but feel the purpose of the flashbacks was to show what made Kal want choose the path of the Surgeon over the path of the soldier and to show the change in Laral from Kaladins friend boyhood crush into something that he hates.
  21. I see several points of tension, her brothers growing insecurity maybe they feel unmanned by seeing how much she has grown. Irrational i know but nobody loves or hates each other more than siblings. When they find out who killed mother i definitely see this as a friction point between them as all of them remember their mother fondly and might not believe Shallan. I believe when her brothers and Shallan also find out the truth as to who killed Helaran. I can imagine her brothers hating Kal for this, as in their childhood they remember him fondly as the big brother who stood up to their father and protected them. I think this will also hurt Shallan a great deal, when they were tapped in the Highstorm they bonded and shared all their gory pasts. Except Kaladin who held that back about her brother. She might see this as a betrayal but i don't think she would act on it not now and maybe even defend him to her brothers i can definitely see this causing problems. Not to mention her brother stealing what ever inst nailed down to sell or the other brother trying to murder pattern.
  22. I have such complex feelings regarding Shallan, when she's doing the whole Ghostblood thing I tend to quite like her but i often find her to annoying when she's not actively doing something or having a breakthrough with her reasearch. She might be in my top 5 characters in SA on a good day. Like I said I have no tolerance for her brothers I see them as baggage or more trouble than they are worth in the future for her but unfortunately I can't see her abandoning them anytime soon. I wonder what their reactions will be when they find out who killed Helaran.... Probably send little sister to deal with him. I honestly believe they will mostly be used unbeknownst to them by Mraize to get Shallan to cooperate.
  23. This is a Hoid Tidbit from a WOB: Christian Jäggi Can you give us any hint what Hoid is, and if youll ever tell us his whole story? @BrandSanderson Brand Sanderson @jaggi_christian You will get the whole story someday. He is a person who turned down what others accepted eagerly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Many believe what he turned down was a Shard. Here is the like to the theory hope you find it interesting. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/21916-hoid-tidbit/
  24. This could be construed so many different ways, yes it could mean Honor or it could mean the KR names. I can definitely see Kal and Dalinar becoming....something. Beacons, rallying points.. Maybe even clashing. It's to early to say. The problem is the Death Rattles most of them anyway are incredibly vague and leave lots of wriggle room for Brandon to TROLL us.
  25. @Bort i agree with you completely, unless Roshone kept an unusually close eye on Kal which i personally doubt. I think we know that Kal stopped sending letter after T died. A common dark eyes not even fighting in the shattered plains wouldn't even get a though of contacting next of kin. I doubt even if he died on the Shattered Plains they still wouldn't have done it. Lol i totally think Kals going to go all Spartacus by the end of this series, not using the same tactics per say but definitely freeing slaves.
