Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I really would have preferred to stay out of this little clash but, as it stands now, it would only take one reverser to tie the vote. I’m really not a fan of that outcome, plus I’ve been told some things that make me lean a little more towards suspecting Aonar (just a little). While I might end up regretting it tomorrow, I’m gonna have to change my vote from Lucal to Faialen. Sorry Faialen, nothing personal, just don’t feel like the prospect of a tie is the best way for this day to end. -
Long Game 5: Noble Secrets

Awes' head was spinning. The highstorm wasn't supposed to arrive for another day but it sure felt like Tion's mansion had already been struck. None of the highlords were holding back anymore (well, one was but I'll get to that). Accusations had been thrown out, rescinded, and passed onto someone else on several occasions. One person had even gone so far as to ask that four different people be lynched today. Then, the challenge had come. The terms of the dual had not been accepted but the challenge was already made and had changed the entire course of the day's discussion. Tion or Faialen? A part of him wanted to side with Faialen just to see that pompous rotspren get put in his place but it wouldn't be right to send Tion to the gallows just because he rubbed Awes the wrong way. The truth of it was, Awes had seen enough suspicious actions on both sides that he simply could not warrant sending one to the gallows over the other. If they were so set on butting heads, Awes would let them settle their own dispute. Fortunately, the dual had not been sanctioned so he had other options. Once again, despite the heated debates, Lucal continued to sit back and just observe all that was happening. Perhaps the man just didn't like to get his hands dirty. Maybe he just wasn't good with confrontations. Whatever the case, his silence was starting to get unnerving. "Lucal, might you have any insights on our current dilemma?" Edit: spelling -
Five pages in one day!?!? What is it about this Elsa that draws such prolific commenting? Is it just her noble birth that requires such attention from the lowly? Does she posses some secret method of instilling avid devotion in her subjects? I must discover the truth!

I don't think they'd object to that as long as you were paying them to do it

I'm sure they could create more problems in your marriage if you wanted.

It seems I must withdraw my vote for Jain. I am still assessing this unexpected challenge so will make a final decision on where to place my vote later on. -

The Most Interesting Man in the Cosmere

His theories are never wrong. Books alter themselves to match. Kandra won't accept a contract on him. They know copying him is impossible. Odium tries to hate him but just can't manage it. -

+++ I know it's in the title already but what follows is definite spoilers +++ I'm not exactly sure what you are getting at here. The shardblades we typically see are spren who's KR abandoned their oaths, thus killing the spren and eternally locking them in the form of a sword. Brandon has hinted that those spren can be brought back to awareness like Syl was but it is extremely difficult and unlikely. Since those spren are functionally dead and can't form bonds, then you cannot become a surgebinder by bonding with a regular shardblade. Szeth gained his surgebinding abilities because the blade he carried was an Honor Blade (one of the herald's blades, likely Jezrian) which grant surgebinding abilities to the person that has it. Brandon has said that knightblood is essentially a shardblade. Since he is alive, we take that to mean one of the shardblades that is formed from a living spren (like Syl or Pattern) and thus it is possible that Szeth might gain some surgebinding abilities from creating that bond. When Shallan was a child she had progressed in the bond with Pattern far enough along that Pattern could become a shardblade (what she killed her mother with). The tragedy of killing her mother cause Shallan to create mental blocks and she chose to forget about Pattern. She did not completely abandon her ideals and sever all connection with Pattern though so instead of going dumb (dead), he just backed off from her and weakened the bond a little. After the events of tWoK, Shallan started to face the secrets of her past and reform the bond with Pattern, enough that she could once again use him as a blade. Hopefully that clears things up for you.- 4 replies

Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'll admit Jain, your naivety act was starting to wear a little thin so I'm glad you've admitted it and hopefully we won't have to unnecessarily clarify things over and over anymore. The problem is that despite saying you were going to explain the inconsistencies, you went and created more inconsistencies. How exactly is Tion putting you back in the limelight? Every day you post about how amazing it is the GB didn't kill you, implying you had something important they'd want to kill you for so I don't think anyone had forgotten what you claimed to have (the GB in particular). If you really do have a painrial, the logical thing to do, now that you've admitted to not being clueless, would have been to say I was just acting like I had the painrial to draw attention from the GB since I don't have any useful items. That would have thrown them off your trail at least a little. Instead you go straight into announcing again that you have the painrial. What act did they buy? I thought you were acting like a naive noob who accidentally revealed he had a painrial? The fact that you weren't attacked indicates to me that they did NOT buy your act and must not think you really have the painrial.I'm starting to feel like your gameplay helps the GB more than it does our side because it just causes unnecessary confusion. I was originally thinking of continuing my campaign to flush out inactive players. The primary target was going to be Luckat since Wurum already called out Humperkink, so the other most inactive player is Luckat who, unless I am mistaken, has only made one post on the first day and that's it (if more than one person can confirm Luckat has been active in PM's, I'd take that as confirmation of participation as well). Instead, I've decided to vote Jain today at this point. Edit: Formatting issues -

Do you mean Nin said he was perfect for the Skybreakers (not windrunners)? There are many indications that the skybreakers Nin now leads isn't completely made of surgebinders. It's more of an organization now than just one of the orders of the KR so he wouldn't have to be a surgebinder for Nin to consider him a member of the Skybreakers. The way Szeth held to the rules for being truthless despite how much mental and spiritual anguish it put him through to do so would make him a perfect candidate for the Skybreakers who follow the rule of law above all else. Brandon has also confirmed that in essence knightblood is a shardblade. We don't know exactly what that means yet but it is possible that someone could bond with knightblood on Roshar and gain some kind of surgebinding abilities as a result. They probably wouldn't be the exact same abilities as an actual Skybreaker but as I said, that isn't critical to be a part of Nin's skybreakers. By the way, welcome to the site!- 4 replies

Quick cover up her safe hand! I'm sorry but I'm going to have to report you. That is a little too racy for this forum

You summed up about exactly how I felt. It was worth seeing and I was entertained but definitely had some issues. Primarily:

Correction to the list: 1080 is the start of Stone Shaman not 1081.

It would seem my Wes character from Game 2 of Sanderson Elimination was a Scourgebinder and I didn't even know it. Not sure what Tights Radiant he would have been but I lean towards the Windstunners. Very well thought out theory Renegade and made me laugh quite a bit

If I remember my Latin correctly I would imagine it means something like a "Truly Italian Lover of Words/Languages". Edit: or possibly a true lover of the Italian language Edit 2: Well apparently my brain wasn't working when I first read your name and completely missed that first T so I thought it was "veris Italian philologist". Now that I notice it's veristitalian, that makes more sense You study languages for historical truths? -
Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wurum, is right Jain. Innocents killing innocents is just a part of this game (It's called Sanderson Elimination). Go back and read through some of the previous games and you'll see most of the time at least 3-4 innocents are are killed by friendly fire before one of the evil side is eliminated. The only way to be absolutely sure you know someone is evil is if you catch them making the night kill with the bracelet. Since we know there is likely 4-5 GB (based on previous game percentages) and any one of them can make the kill each night, the chances of you catching them in the act is pretty slim. The only other method of rooting them out is debates and voting. We really need to start being more aggressive on that front as well. Two days in a row someone has been lynched with only 3 votes. Not only does the passive game play make it difficult to identify suspicious actions, but the low vote count makes it easy for the GB to sway the votes in their favor. If you are worried about screwing ourselves Jain, that's what will do it; giving the GB control of the votes on top of their night kills. Also, sorry Xanas. I really just wanted a response to the accusations against you. Since you didn't even respond to the votes for you, It appears you likely had gone MIA from the game for a bit.
