Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Me, the king? Hallowed Halls no! I definitely don't have the brains or confidence for a job like that. Obviously Stomper will be the king and he has no need for Ardents in his kingdom. Ryshadium don't believe in people as property so Jim would be free to use his soulcaster however he wanted (though Stomper would probably request an apple or two on occasion). We don't have a problem with thieving in the first place so there would be nothing to pardon. There won't be any need to clean blood off Wurum's plate before we give it to you. Shardblades leave no blood behind. -

These words are accepted. We'll actually do one better. We need to be using as many actions as possible to better our odds against the soulcaster so we'll attempt to send you two different items we have lying around. Whether they make it to you or not will depend on what the nobles do with the pain knife and reverser but hopefully at least one of the two will make it your way. Two of the nobles have shardplate, and another has a soulcaster. Any of those is worth a kingdom, and I'm sure we'll get our hands on at least one of them by the time this is all over. -

Yes, despite the setbacks this cycle, I'll admit its rather enjoyable getting to troll the nobles. Stomper can always make more appearances. -

I didn't say the GM would announce them winning with us, just that we would consider them one of our own If we take over the country, our opinion on the matter is the only thing that would really matter to our subjects anyway right? Edit: Yes, as soon as I read that post I thought, oh no, Wurum is going to be all over this. He's had it in for H. for a while and this is the exact same kind of post Wurum confronted him about earlier in the game. The problem though was that Gleemen went MIA after making that post so we couldn't get him to defend himself. You also assume we completely left his death up to chance. I'll let you decide if that's true or not. The problem though was without H.'s help, there was only so much we could do without announcing who the rest of us were should he ultimately get lynched. I obviously couldn't say anything in his defense (that would have instantly proven he was GB) and the other two had the tough choice of do we let H. die or put ourselves at risk by trying to save him? Ultimately it was way too risky for them to try and overtly deflect attention from him. My late hour post was the last ditch effort to try and get you to panic enough to switch a couple votes and give us the chance to save him with the reverser. When it was obvious that wasn't going to happen, we ended up just changing your vote away from him so you didn't get the satisfaction of participating in his death -

If the thief steals the bow, a stalemate is all we need. As I said before, we would make him an official member of the Ghostbloods if he takes the bow so he would get the ghostblood primary object, possibly our secondary, and the thief's secondary objective. It's not an angle or desperation, just basic strategy. Cover all the bases. There are quite a few elements of luck that come into play at this point in the game. The thief is in a unique position to push the odds one way or another. It would be stupid for me not to make the offer since I'm already out in the open. Seeing as how I'm the only one of the three of us who knows everyone else's allegiance absolutely... yeah I think I'll stick with my own statement on the matter Regardless of how things go tonight Macen (and I completely admit it could easily go either way), I'm not so petty as to not give credit where it's due. Your decision to give Wurum your plate was probably the most critical move in the entire game. If you hadn't done that you'd be one more person down. We might have the bow. Wurum wouldn't have put H.'s name in the mix and the votes likely would have gone against Tion or Cara. We would most likely be definitely in the drivers seat in that case so well done on that. -

Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
If the thief sides with us, 7v4. If we kill one person tonight, 6x4. That is only one reverser to tie the vote and we have more than that at our disposal. As I mentioned before, do you really want to side with some pompous nobles who called for your death on multiple occasions? We could have killed you multiple times and chose not to (I had strong suspicions who you were before we positively identified you). We felt you would make a valuable addition to our cause and so chose to spare you for just such a situation as this. -

Just to continue my request to the thief from yesterday, here is an update on the game's situation. If you steel the bow from Wurum, all they can do against us tonight is hope they get lucky with the Soulcaster. Since the Soulcaster only randomly changes one action, even if they make a lucky guess with it, there's still only a one in three chance it will even do anything useful for them. Even then, we have means of protecting ourselves from a single attack so turning one of our own against us probably won't amount to much. If we are successful with any kills tonight, with you voting with us, we can likely control the votes tomorrow or at the least tie the votes. With the ability for three kills the following night, we win. If you side with the nobles, your group might still win but will rely on a lot more luck since you don't know exactly what items we have for protection and still don't know for certain who our other members are to use your items on. Your chances are much better if you are with us and we will happily provide you with whatever additional items you still need to reach your master thief goal. -
Hey, Noob here asking cosmere question.
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Renarin_Kholin's topic in Introduce Yourself!
It's not out of the realm of possibilities but we also don't know enough about the Shardholders yet to know something like that. Plus, its not even confirmed if Reya is Cultivation so might be nothing. 16 seems like a big group of friends to be conspiring to kill a god. I would imagine at least one pair were related but just speculation. In the future, you will probably get more people responding to questions like this if you post them in the Quesions and Answers thread over in the Cosmere Theories section. Or, in the Ultimate List of Questions for Brandon.- 1 reply

Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
HeHeHe! I guess only time will tell. Tick Tock. Edit: Humperdink wasn't around today to defend himself so I had to try something crazy to see if I could get some votes pulled away from him at the last minute. I didn't really expect it to work but just writing a crazy Awes who thinks his Ryshadium talks to him was well worth it -

Oh well, can’t say I didn’t try Humperdink. They had to get one right eventually. At least I won’t actually vote for you. Hope the dead doc gives you a warm welcome. -

Sorry it seems I’m back to really long RP write ups but I just couldn’t pass this up. It’s not often you get to be openly on the evil side and not even be on the chopping block so I’m going to have some fun with it. They walked down secluded streets side by side, assessing the day’s events. It didn’t matter too much if they were overheard. Everyone knew where Awe’s allegiances were now. “The news you bring pleases me greatly. If I were capable of laughing I would. They continue to make decisions based on false assumptions and deductions. You’d think they would have learned after the incidents with the Spanreeds and Reversers. They can’t even figure out what really happened last night when it was practically spelled-out for them.” Awes glanced over at the large head that followed next to him, one big eye staring back. The lips didn’t move when Stomper spoke to him but the Ryshadium spoke nonetheless. It’s what had frightened Awes most about the great horse when he started working for Sebarial. Nobody else seemed to notice it but Awes heard Stomper loud and clear. He thought himself going mad at first but that couldn’t be the case. Ryshadium were unusually intelligent, some say even sentient. Perhaps they could all talk to us in this way but they only choose those they deem worthy? That must be the reason. Awes was special. Awes had always thought there was some greater purpose for why Stomper had chosen to speak to him all this time and now finally he understand. He was terrified when the Ryshadium first commanded him to help kill the king. He didn’t think he had the courage for something like that but he ended up surprising even himself. Since that night, Awes had come to see he was born for this role. The ghostbloods were where he had always belonged and Stomper had made that happen. He even had shardplate now! His fear and anger for the beast had been replaced with nothing but gratitude and unerring obedience. After a few more minutes of thought, Stomper continued, “I had expected to lose you this evening but it looks like you were saved by another misunderstanding about how fabrials work. They realized their mistake but far too late to make a difference and now another of their number will die. Honestly, they make this too easy. I could almost help them along just to make things a little more sporting.” “Yes! A Clue! A Clue!. Let’s give them a clue and see if they can figure it out. I do love games.” Stomper halted his walk and gave Awes a long look. Awes could never tell what the horse was thinking but this time he was pretty sure it was a suffering glance at having to endure Awes’ continued antics. “Sorry.” Awes hung his head and mentally hit himself at being foolish again. “While I do enjoy toying with my targets, I do not think giving them any hints would be wise. What we seek to accomplish is far to important to risk on a little extra entertainment.” Awes didn’t often contradict Stomper when he used that tone, but he really wanted to go back and have some fun withe nobles. “There’s only an hour left before they have to make a decision though. Many have already wandered away from the meeting after casting their vote. They couldn’t change things now even if we gave them a hint or two. I know! I’ll just tell them that somebody was on the right track earlier today. There were so many different tracks today they’ll never figure out which one was the right one.” “No.” But...” “No!” Awes gave his poutiest, saddest look. Stomper just stared back. That went on for a few seconds but finally the horse shook his head with a loud whiney. “Fine! You can give them one hint. Go back and cast a vote. You’ve participated in every lynching up to this point, no reason to stop now just because they know what you really are. You will cast your vote for Humperdink”. Awes scratched his head in thought. “Humperdink? But he’s already going to be lynched today. Voting for him isn’t going to give them any more information than they’ll already get in the next hour.” “That’s all the hint I will allow you to give. Who knows, perhaps it will be enough for them to pull something miraculous out at the last moment. I doubt it though. Now go. No more discussion about it.” Awes reluctantly continued ahead down the path, intent on putting the final nail on yet another coffin. Just one hour left. Things aren’t looking good. Tick Tock, Tick Tock. After you’ve read all this, there is probably even less time to scramble. Tick Tock, Tick Tock. Is anyone even online to read this? Probably not enough to make a difference. Tick Tock, Tick Tock. hehehe!- 616 replies

Current Factions/Guilds
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Lurthemir's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I've found the recent faction fad an entertaining read but can I request that we not blast new members to the forum with requests to join this faction or that faction? There are a lot of people that will be put off by that kind of introduction to the site. If they are really into participating on the forum, I'm sure they'll come across the various factions on their own. -

Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The fact that someone was targeted by the bow and protected from harm by a painrial last night means the cat is out of the bag so there's no point in hiding what I am anymore. In fact, I'd prefer to lay a few cards on the table before Macen starts trying to scramble through pm's today in an attempt to recover from yet another setback (and likely failing once again). Awes looked around the room and found mostly shock and confusion. Yet another noble dead and at this point only a few in here really knew what happened. He turned his gaze to Ace and found the man staring back at him with barely controlled rage. Ace knew now that he'd been played this whole time. Awes was amazed the man hadn't yet tried to cross the room and rip out his throat with his bare hands. He must still be trying to settle things through some elaborate plan which was bound to fail. Awes shrugged off the murderous glare then turned to address the whole gathering. He had plans of his own to set in motion. "To the thief, I know who you are (Our bracelet saw you steal an item last night). We would like to make a formal offer. As has been stated a few times, things aren't looking too good for the nobles. Even identifying me, and even if they finally manage to lynch one of us today, we've still got a pretty significant advantage with the items we have accrued. There's a chance they can pull it out but it will rely on quite a bit of luck which has thus far been lacking on their side." "So, the offer is to join us and help us finish this thing off sooner rather than later. You have to admit, the nobles haven't shown you all that much love and have called for your lynching a couple times based on pretty shacky arguments. Join with us and you'll see what a true brotherhood is like and you can share in the victory with us. All that we ask is that tonight you steel the bow. Wurum has it. Consider it your initiation. We look forward to welcoming you among us." Edit: grammar -

It would be easier to just use the Syrup pool if you know where it's located. -
Read Warbreaker. It's free to download off his website and you might recognize a character or two from WoR . Elantris and The Emprorer's Sould are both great reads as well. Did you just read the Mistborn trilogy or did you read Alloy of Law already as well?

Well obviously if they are made out of ice then logic dictates they'd be frozen characters -
I didn't see anywhere that Newcago had a logo while every other faction seemed to have one now so I threw a little something together for it. Edit: Here is a smaller version for using in either your signature or profile icon.

Panda beat me to it but I saw someone asked me for a Wafflesworn crest the other day so I threw something together.

Pretty sure we lynched our only artifabrian on day one. I expect with all the talk about reversers someone would have spoken up if they'd been given one by an artifabrian by this point. -
Long Game 5: Noble Secrets
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Mailliw73's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Actually Wurum, there are two scenarios you are overlooking. It's obvious the GB have played us for fools on our assumption that there were three spanreeds and at least one was a GB. They either never had one, or they realized early on it would be a red flag item and chose not to use it. They just sat back and watched us kill three spanreed holders in a row. Now, I fear they are doing the same thing to us with the reversers. Here are two scenarios where they could be casting suspicion on anyone with a reverser: 1. There were only three reversers in the game. After using it to kill Tors, they knew it would be a hot item and having one on them would cast instant suspicion. The same night they killed Pailan, they also gave their reverser to her. Her death showed that she had a reverser and everyone just assumed she had it from the start. If the roll resulted in them getting the reverser back, not a huge problem. They just don't use it at that point and hope the spy doesn't see it. In the meantime, everyone else who comes forward with a reverser is a higher suspect because one has already been identified as clean. Like with the spanreeds, it makes everyone who openly has one a target. I think since no one came forward about being Pailan's heir, the GB lucked out and she had actually made one of them her heir so they got both items. 2. There were four Reversers in the game. 3 on our side, one on the GB side. They knew Pailan had a reverser and they were hot items so before killing her they gave her their reverser. Since she already had one, it would disappear leaving only three in the game and one identified as clean. From that point on, it's the same scenario as possibility one. I'll admit I am not unbiased in coming up with these scenarios. I've been thinking about them since the moment Tors died because I have a reverser and I knew they would be a suspicious item from day one. I told Failan, Ace, and Jost I had it on the second day after I felt I could trust them so they can verify I've had it from before Pailan's death. If I had been GB and planned on using one of the above scenarios, telling them I had a reverser would have been stupid since those plans involve ditching the reverser and casting doubt on the others. It's still very possible me or Saritu are the GB who started with the reverser or Saritu got his from Pailan. I know my own innocence though and the more I think about how the GB played us with the spanreeds, the less suspicious I am of Saritu as well. The reversers are your best lead at this point so I completely understand if y'all go after one of us, but I fear that the GB are once again playing us for fools with items we only think we know the exact number for and assume are actually in their possession at this point.
