  1. The body no longer hung from the tree but long past sunset Waes was still staring at the dangling rope, deep in thought. He'd never particularly liked whitecloaks and he certainly never saw eye to eye with Gade. That didn't mean he'd wanted to see the man dead though and a devout whitecloak might be just what they needed to find the killer. There was no point trying to tie a broken shoe string. The deed was done. Waes couldn't blame Witless. It was the town's fault for putting a fool in charge during a crisis. Waes had been thoroughly confused when his own name started getting thrown around for mayor but he knew for sure everyone had gone crazy when Witless was chosen. The poor man had even thought it was a joke until the noose tightened around Gade's neck. That was what was haunting Waes now. That look in the fool's eye when he realized he was responsible for a man's death. Waes couldn't help but be relieved that responsibility hadn't fallen on his own shoulders. Waes glanced over at the shaggy mare that was still grazing near by. Perhaps he was going mad himself but he was sure Witless and the beast shared a long look just before the call for Gade's death. What am I thinking? The man is crazy. I'm blaming a horse for his actions now? The paranoia must really be getting to me. He couldn't pull his eyes away from the horse though. There had always been something off about that animal. He'd keep an eye on it all the same.
  2. Thanks for that, apparently I didn't read that section closely enough. Ignore my last post.
  3. So, as things stand, no one is going to be lynched today which is fine. We had more than enough discussions for the first day. The DF's could still get someone lynched with the dragons fang though if we aren't careful. We could all agree to retract our votes to prevent that but I worry not everyone with a vote will make it online before the deadline so a better approach is to have everyone (all regular villagers) PM Gamma to have the dragon fang placed on the door of someone who has not received any lynch votes. My random choice (eyes closed pointing a finger at the player list) is Trimat. As long as 3-4 regular villagers place the dragon fang on Trimat's door, the DF shouldn't be able to force a lynch.
  4. The difference is that the actual lynching isn't the goal on the first day (at least for me it isn't). The goal is to get people talking, arguing, and defending themselves. That way we have baseline motivations and actions to track patterns and inconsistencies with later on. If there isn't the threat of actually being lynched then there is no incentive for people to post. Yes, it might unfortunately result in a villager death but it's worth the risk to get people actually playing the game openly. The wolfbrother kill on the other hand does not encourage any debate and does not provide any additional information other than the identity of the dead player. Since it has the possibility of removing our viewer/channeler/wisdom which would be bad for us, it should not be used willy nilly. That kill should only happen if someone has a very strong hunch about a possible DF and for strategic reasons does not want to announce those suspicions in the main thread. Edit: forgot to add that now that Ralv has posted, I will switch attention to Jim Bob Dirt.
  5. Hiding in the shadows has been a very effective method for the evil teams to avoid suspicion in previous games. I'd like to force everyone to participate openly at least a little each cycle so I will be voting for non active players until strong evidence against a particular player turns up. Since Ralv has not deemed it necessary to respond to my call out in the very first post of the game, that's where my vote will be this cycle until I get a response. Edit: name misspelled.
  6. Is it just me or does it seem like Mexico's uniform designer was watching too much peanuts when making their red jersey?
  7. To be completely honest Joe, I really didn't have any intentions of running for the position of mayor. Obviously, I'd do the best I could to assist the village if given the title but I'm not going to tout my own horn to get elected. You have enough experience playing with me to know if I'm good enough at the game to do the job justice (though I can understand why you'd have more fondness for your experiences with Wilson ). Edit: Color
  8. I can definitively say the change from KR to voidbringer is 3000
  9. I didn't think you were being rude and If my comments sounded like I was reprimanding you for your no lynching statement, that wasn't my intention. The first day of every elimination game there seems to be a movement to have no votes or lynchings and I was just trying to prevent that movement from getting off the ground before it started. We need discussions today and votes are the best way to instigate that.
  10. Just going to make a small interjection here and ask that you not put words in other people's character's mouths. Feel free to weave other characters into your narrative. That makes a for a more cohesive story throughout the game but try not to give them dialogue that the user who created them didn't intend for their character to say. I know it was intended for good humor and meant nothing by it but I don't think it's a good precedent to start where anybody can change the personality of any character to fit their own RP. Newan's reasoning for voting Malai was just as valid as any argument we can make at this point so there isn't a reason to make his character look goofy for voicing it. On a different but related note, everyone saying lets not vote or lynch anyone today would be a very unproductive day and would be more helpful to the DF than it is for the good side. It just gives them a free pass today without any risk of them revealing themselves. Yes, there is a chance we could lynch an innocent villager but it's a guarantee they will attack one person tonight. Our best way to locate and eliminate the DF is by discussion and votes. Case in point, there was no reason for you to come to Malai's defense. You were either being very altruistic, you have been chatting with Malai in private and have been convinced he is clean, or you are both DF and you are trying to deflect attention. None of that is conclusive by far but it's all information to base future decisions on that I wouldn't have had if Newan hadn't voted for Malai. Edit: needed to add quote so people knew which post I was referring to.
  11. The only problem with keeping a list of when the next games will be starting is that there is a bit of variability in the process. They generally try to wait until one game is nearly finished up before starting the next and it can be hard to predict how long the current game will keep going. It's not a bad idea though to have a pinned thread at the top Elimination subforum that lists the estimated dates when signups for the next game will start, a link to the rules for that game, and the estimated minimum/maximum players for that game. Lately, the game designs have called for high numbers of players so too many people hasn't been an issue yet. For instance, game six which just started, only barely met its minimum suggested players before the deadline. If it does get to the point, though, where too many people are looking to sign up, the experienced players will gladly sit out a game or two in order to let new players get the experience. Don't let a high number of enrollees prevent you from asking to join. I guarantee that if the roster fills up before the start of the game and you say I'm a new player and would like to try this out, one of the experienced players will let you take their place.
  12. Yeah, that was me. Just got him to 2983 and still a KR.
  13. Waes stood amongst the silent crowd watching the somber crew who had volunteered to clean up what was left of the mayor. He admired the pristine condition of Twim's left shoe as the leg was placed gently next to the rest of the body. At least the man didn't die with sore feet. This kind of thing simply didn't happen in Drell's Crossing. It was a small peaceful village. There had not been a single murder since he moved here as a young man, much less a crime this heinous. It did not surprise him that everyone gathered was speechless. Something needed to be done though. Whoever the culprit was, they wanted the mayor to be found and they wanted the village to be afraid. Waes had a bad feeling this was only the beginning of the nightmares Drell's Crossing would soon face. For weeks something had been pulling him towards the north. Towards the borderlands. Towards Tarmon Gai'don. That had scarred him but now suddenly that pull was gone. He felt like he was exactly where he was supposed to be and that terrified him even more. What could be happening in Dell's Crossing that was so important the Pattern wanted him here more than it needed him at Tarmon Gai'don? Whatever had come to Dell's Crossing, it had brought the fight right to their doorstep. They would play a part in the Last Battle whether they wanted to or not. If they hoped to survive, they needed to stop standing around like mutes and start figuring out who could have done this. Waes had known these people for most of his life and could not imagine any who had it in them to do something like this. As he looked at the faces around him, though, he realized that wasn't true. There were two people who had wandered into the village recently. One of them had been fairly quiet since arriving so was hard to get a read on. The other, however, had been seen picking on the poor dirt salesman and had also avoided helping with the recent preparations. Neither had given a good reason for why they had come to Dell's Crossing and Waes found it suspicious they both showed up shortly before Twim's death. Waes wasn't much for public speaking but with the mayor now dead, someone needed to wake the town up and get them working to find this murderer. He cleared his throat loudly then directed his voice towards the two travelers. "You two! Newcomers. Jain and Ralv I believe? Would you mind explaining again why you have come to our once peaceful town and what you two were up to last night? It might just be an unfortunate coincidence all this happening shortly after your arrival here but I can't help but find your presence suspicious." Nothing personal of course you two but we need to start some debates going and being the first day we don't really have much to base accusations on so I'm just going with what my character would be thinking in this situation. Edit: Oh no! Our GM is a Torturer of Heralds! That can't bode well for us.
  14. I keep a close eye on Quick Fix 2 for weeks, then spend one weekend celebrating my birthday/Father's Day only to come back and find that I've missed the very end of the game Oh well, Game 6 is starting soon and it's WoT!
  15. Just stopping in to yell, I'm 1337!!!!
  16. Come on now. Judging by that statistic, he obviously already doesn't have a life and for that now you actually want to take his life?
  17. Don't really think this is the kind of place for questions like that but there is a whole thread on the topic HERE you can checkout. Edit: and thanks for giving me a valid reason to post in here again.
  18. Am I the only person who can't help but think football when you read Chaos' rank?
  19. During the current Quick Fix 2 game, those of us in the dead doc have had a few conversations about what rewards various players deserve this game. We thought it would be a fun idea for each game to have awards given out at the end to deserving players. Some example awards: 1. Don't Worry, It's Not Loaded (Most Ironic Death) 2. Agro Magnet. (attacked most) 3. Most Lynchable. (received the most lynch votes (before vote changes by roles)) 4. Nailed it. (Biggest Game Changing Move) 5. You Monster! (Assassinated the most players) 6. MVP (Overall best player) 7. Doh! (Most unfortunate decisions) 8. You Yella? (uses a protective ability on themselves the most often) 9. Oh, Come On! (given to Weiry the first player to die) 10. Can't Touch This (player who survived the most day cycles with at least two votes on them (before vote changes)) 11. Procrastinator (the player who used their role the least amongst active players) 12. Chronic Back(stabbing) Pain (Player who broke the most alliances) 13. The Master of Puppets/Silvertongue (...most manipulative/persuasive player, kudos to anyone who got the reference) 14. Crouching Tiger (player who attracted the least attention/suspicion/threat during the game) 15. Tactician (player who made the most strategic/cunning use of role/special actions during the game.) 16. Don't Worry, I Got This. (Player who most often ignores other people to their own detriment) Edit: Added suggestions from below
  20. Great work! A Last Supper version of this would be awesome.
  21. Why haven't we seen you in sanderson elimination yet? Can always use new players.
  22. Gotta be a bondsmith. He's a rare talent.
  23. The Padan Fain thing makes sense, from both an in game mechanic and also how the corruption worked in the books.
