Fire isn't that much more dangerous on Roshar. There's higher oxygen, but probably not enough to cause dramatic effects. The greatest problem in higher oxygen environments fire is wildfires, and I don't think Shinovar is ever dry enough to have that be a significant problem (they still get highstorms, they're just weak and rainy). As long as they're careful with their combustable materials, they should be able to use torches or candles and the like. I'm pretty sure we see darkeyes and other lower-dahn folk using them in the books.

I agree with all of this, and I feel like the rivalry between the Houses, the allowed blatant favoritism and a number of other things made the setting seriously toxic in a lot of ways.

He probably has extras stored in various items, to draw on when he wants/needs them.

Endowment or Harmony, for me. I really like the idea of Breaths (and immortality) but Harmony is just so benevolent. I really like Pathism.

Kelsier is a Shard of Adonalsium(?)

Agree to disagree on the matter. And agree completely with the lack of a good way to describe it.- 43 replies

Kelsier is a Shard of Adonalsium(?)
RShara replied to prayingforsuperpowers's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Eh. I mean we know of at least one Shard that's not Invested in a planet, and another that is moving all over the place. There's motives for all sorts of beings to keep someone like Kel from Ascending with a Shard he'd be compatible with.- 43 replies

Travel for Shards is complicated, and not exactly physical. It's mostly shifting your attention to places. Note the descriptions that Vin gives of "traveling" while she was holding Preservation.- 43 replies

Kelsier is a Shard of Adonalsium(?)
RShara replied to prayingforsuperpowers's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Shards reside in the Spiritual Realm, and unless they're bound somehow, can focus their attention in many places, even if they're Invested in a planet. I'm sure a number of them would be willing to Beyond-stomp Kelsier before he managed to gain that power. Not to mention groups like the 17th Shard. and the like.- 43 replies

That's the part I was responding to? Spook's near death dream of Kelsier was while Kelsier was a Shard.
-
Cal was talking about before that point. When he tells Spook that he has to send a message to Vin about the earring.
-
At which point, he was a Shard, too.

Kelsier is a Shard of Adonalsium(?)

But considering that the Shards now know what a bad idea it is to have some personalities take up Shards, why wouldn't the free ones, and whatever other forces are out there, prevent something like that from happening?- 43 replies

Brandon is very tricky and we're barely halfway through the Cosmere. I couldn't hazard a guess just yet
-
But if Ado were to recombine, you can see how a lot of people would find it similar to the WoT story. And since Brandon finished that for Robert Jordan, I suspect many people would draw that comparison and be rather critical.
-
Well the basic premise is that the universe is cyclitic. There's no beginning or end, and events happen over and over again. The Big Evil is released, is imprisoned, is released again when that Age comes around again.

He didn't quite die.
-
I disagree with this on a more meta level than most. I think that doing that would be too similar to how The Wheel of Time works, and I think that Brandon will stay far away from anything resembling WoT, if only for the likely perception that he's being derivative.

Probably worse than Autonomy, maybe not as bad as Rayse.- 43 replies

I really disagree with your interpretation of those WoBs, as you know. But let's not get into that again

Yeah I agree with this. Shallan doesn't have exactly DID. She remembers the actions each of her alternates takes, and she, to some degree, can choose when to manifest them.

There is a world that is already 1958 AD-level

Well Taldain had shotguns and the like in White Sand, and that was at least a thousand years before the events of Stormlight Archive, so I'd expect them to have lots of cool inventions by now -
Given that it's Brandon, it's not going to be as simple as "They started it!" I'm sure both sides share some blame and that there's a healthy degree of misunderstanding thrown into the mix.
