  1. Nah, I don't think Hoid would have been interested in receiving the visions. He probably already knows (or could easily find out) what happened in them, if he wasn't already there in the first place! And receiving the visions would mean he was on the Bondsmith path, which would probably be an awkward situation for him. No one really knows what Hoid wants to accomplish. We haven't been given enough information. My personal guess is that he's trying to bring someone back from the Beyond, but given that's based on a couple lines of non-canon text, it's loose speculation at best.
  2. If he could hit them physically, he could annihilate them, certainly. He's far more powerful than a regular sprenBlade, and one of those killed a spren in OB.
  3. On Roshar, the light/dark eye thing isn't entirely natural. Darkeyes are unusually dark, and lighteyes are unusually light. That being said, there are real people with really dark blue eyes
  4. Yeah but he couldn't really use the power in that case. I suppose I meant, bad for everyone else
  5. Really, Kelsier and any Shard would be such a bad mix.
  6. Without being able to see it, it's hard to say. But Brandon's eyes are hazel and he says he'd be a darkeye.

    Odium

There're a couple other threads about it floating around, too
  8. The Shards move around via the Spiritual Realm, similar to how Vin describes how she's not actually moving, just changing the focus of her attention, while she's holding Preservation.

It seems like this should probably go into its own thread, in the Cosmere or SA forums, rather than a Q&A thread? The format of the Q&A threads isn't the best for theory discussion
  10. Mmmm. Love of self, narcissism to the nth degree could do it. Or love and compassion only for your own kind/type/caste/whatever. Love of excess, love of violence, love to obsession. There are a number of ways it can be turned bad.
  11. Not sure if srs?
  12. There haven't really been much in the way of multi-system users as of yet, since the greater Cosmere is meant to stay mostly in the background until Mistborn Era 4. But there have been a few instances. Mraize's Basement Emporium shows that he's got stuff from a *lot* of different worlds. Vasher somehow feeds off Stormlight instead of Breath. There aren't really any others that I can think of.
  13. The fact that atium can be Pushed and Pulled, and Honorblades/Shardblades/Shardplate can't is a bit of a conundrum. As solidified Investiture, atium shouldn't be Pushable or Pullable, but somehow is. Brandon's explained this away mostly by handwaving it, saying that atium, as solidified investiture, breaks some of the rules. The implied caveat being, we'll hopefully find out why some godmetals can be affected by Allomancy, and some can't. (Also, it would be tanavastium, I would think.)
  14. Or it wasn't even an actual pact, just a kind of general consensus. "Hey we should probably go our separate ways, right guys?" "Uhh, let me think about that (nope)."
  15. It would be possible, as they're really stone now--the soul or whatever is gone. But since it was once alive, and in the exact form of a person, it would be a lot easier than normal.
  16. The Lightweaver Resonance is their mnemonic abilities.
  17. And depending on their size, they might be using magic to break the square cube law. So even if they could manage to consume enough flesh to make the dragon shape, they'd have some major problems.
  18. Well Wax assumed that the spearhead was aluminum just because he couldn't Push on it. Once they actually looked at the spearhead. Once they realized what it was and looked at it, they could see it was a bunch of different metals mixed together. So once they checked the belt, they could tell that it was just aluminum. Whether it's an aluminum mind, if it's an unkeyed one, he should have been able to tell if he was also holding the Bands, right? And if it was unsealed, he should have been able to tell just from touching.
  19. Absolutely they do. I was saying, they wouldn't have nearly as much impact as our single large moon does. There'd be a slight tidal shift with each moon, but it'd be pretty small.
  20. Wax checks the rest of the metal on the statue, specifically, and finds that they really are aluminum.
  21. Brandon's answered this at signings, not in book (so far?) but I'll put it in spoiler tags just in case you don't want to read it anyway.
  22. I don't think he's spent enough time in a speed bubble to be visibly affected. Time does pass normally for the people inside the bubbles, so Wayne is a little older than he should be from an outside viewpoint. But he only burns a few minutes at a time, maybe a few times a month, so it's not going to add substantially to his age.
  23. It's this one.
  24. I agree fully with the two previous posters. Odium is not passion, darn it. We have Frost, Syl, and the Stormfather all considering Odium as Hatred. We know that Devotion is a synonym for Love. So if Odium were Passion, it would be Passion minus Love? We know the Passions are a religion with no magical component. We know some of the Unmade and they do not reflect passionate emotions--Moelach piggybacks on death to see the future, Ashertmann removes inhibitions and drives people to self-destruction, Nerghaoul drives people to bloodlust and berserker kill frenzies, Sja-anat infects/corrupts spren, Re-Shephir tries to imitate but is driven by violence. These are all manifestations of hatred, in my mind, not passion. All of the Rhythms that the Stormform and Regalform Listeners can attune to are tinged with hatred--Spite, Ridicule, Derision, etc. That is, the Listeners' normal Rhythms are turned toward hatred and despite. All of these things point toward Odium, not Passion.
  25. To add to what Scion said, the moons are very small, along the lines of Mar's moons, Phobos and Deimos, and move very fast, in a retrograde orbit, so I don't think they'd have nearly as much of an impact as our singular, large, moon does.
