  1. Dalinar, similar to TLR, probably Ascended to become a Sliver, not a full Shard. He holds a large chunk of Honor's power, spiced with some Cultivation and Odium, but far from the entirety of the Shard.
  2. Yes, Honor was still alive during the Recreance. But his Intent was taking over his personality, so he was losing himself, and was telling the KR that they would destroy the planet. During the vision, Dalinar reflects to himself about the number of Shardblades and Plates known to exist, versus the number he sees in the vision.
  3. Interlude I-2, Ellista's perspective Fecundity is defined as " the ability to produce an abundance of offspring or new growth; fertility." That doesn't seem to fit in with the meaning of the sentence? I-21, Shallan's perspective Should "reverie" be "revelry"? Interlude I-21, Venli's perspective Should that be "to Irritation, then to Lost"? I assume Timbre is pulsing to a Rhythm.
  4. She probably awakened it to act as a shield. Something like "Prevent objects from getting close to me."
  5. A couple of threads about this already. Here's one:
  6. Because they didn't want future surgebinders. Having the other spren see humans as bad would prevent them from wanting to bond with humans in the future. Here's my post:
  7. I mentioned that in my post on pg 2: I don't see how the spren wouldn't have known what the Knights were going to do.
  8. Oh oh oh oh! I just came across this! In the chapter where Dalinar brings Venli into a vision: So Dalinar is reaaallllly close to getting his Shardplate too!
  9. Hang on to that. Get it signed. In 50 years, it'll be worth a fortune!
  10. Honor was still alive during the Recreance, but his Intent was overpowering his personality.
  11. A few points that came to me while discussing this with hubby: First: Honor was starting to get strange. His Intent was taking over his personality, and causing problems, such as caring more for any oath, than for actual honor. Second: The Knights were squabbling quite a bit amongst themselves. Possibly even close to starting a civil war between Orders. Third: I don't see how the spren didn't know what their Knights were going to do. Fourth: Pattern offered to sacrifice himself to save Shallan pain, because he thought she hated him. And if he died, then she could bond another spren, one who hadn't killed her parents. Fifth: Their ancestors destroyed their previous planet, then came and took over Roshar, and brought a rather nasty Power with them. Sixth: We have this quote from Nale: So my conclusion is multi-fold: The Knights had lost their way, and when they found out about this, it hit them while they were vulnerable and they broke. This might have been encouraged quite a bit by Nale and his Skybreakers, since one of the epigraphs stated that a lot of the infighting was between the Skybreakers and the Windrunners. Also, I believe that they had to have conspired with their spren to sacrifice themselves. Pattern is willing to sacrifice himself to spare Shallan some pain. It wouldn't be a huge reach to think their spren would be willing to sacrificed themselves to keep from destroying the world. By killing their spren, they ensured that spren would not form bonds with humans for the foreseeable future, thus preventing future Radiants from being created.
  12. Me too. I hate love triangles. A lot. Like, one of the worst things in fiction. Ever. Kill it with fire.
  13. She's not the one splitting the pot. Vathah is splitting the pot with Shob, because Shob guessed a bunch of the cards right.
  14. He doesn't have Shards yet, though. He's currently a squire, able to use Stormlight when Kaladin is around, but hasn't bonded a spren.
  15. There are fewer, but even one or two a month (as opposed to one or two a week) is enough to fund expenses for a while.
  16. They still go on gemheart hunts. The results are divided among the highprinces equally, and now that the Parshendi are gone, there's much less cost to getting them.
  17. I don't think Rock is the Horneater king, but I think he might be from the royal family, and might now be the heir. I really doubt the Horneaters would let their King go on a likely fatal quest.
  18. I thought that might have just been a resolution issue. But looking at the full size one, you're right. The second one from the top, the left dress is missing the upper part of the gold embroidery on the bodice abdomen. Or, the right dress has an extra ^ on it.
  19. Dalinar managed it.
  20. He stole Jezrien's, that had been given to Bridge Four to practice with, I thought?
  21. So maybe Hoid switched the Blades and gave the Honorblade to someone? Because that sounds like Brandon being cagey, there.
  22. Oops, you're right. Darn. Then who the heck has it...?
  23. He summons the Blade then states that he's a Skybreaker of the 5th Ideal. That's heavy inference that the blade is his spren from being a Skybreaker. I think Hoid stole Taln's blade, and that's why he was hanging around.
