  1. Oh dear. Please change the title to be more generic and add OB to the title as well. The spoiler policy at the top has details. Also, I didn't spot her until I read it here, because I'm terrible at spotting world hoppers
  2. I think she soulcast the stone into smoke and became smoke, she didn't fall through it. But I wonder if whatever is binding Odium to the Rosharan system might be there?
  3. Didn't someone make a Cosmere Timeline some time ago? Where did that go? It should be pinned!
  4. Yeah, we know what Cryptics look like and Pattern matches them. Also, Pattern remembers where he's from, who made him, etc.
  5. No, he wasn't lying, but he was being deceptive. He probably also believed what he was saying. That doesn't mean it was the truth. But my point is, Ruin was, in fact, aptly named, despite his claiming to be change instead of destruction, or entropy. Which is why I'm pretty sure Odium is doing the same thing, even using the same phrasing.
  6. There's a pretty lengthy discussion on this over in this thread:
  7. I see a couple problems with this theory, though. First, Honor's splinters have already gained sentience. There are hundreds or thousands of spren that are sentient that have bits of honor (in varying degrees) in them. There's also the Stormfather, who is sentient and a large part of Honor's power. In order to gather all of that power and reassemble the shard, wouldn't he have to essentially kill all of those sentient beings? That doesn't seem like something Dalinar would do.
  8. I don't think someone as dramatic as Kelsier would be able to remain in the background on another planet, and Brandon has said that he doesn't want worldhoppers and the greater Cosmere to be a major development until the sci-fi series. So I don't think that Kelsier is going to show up on any other planet for quite some time.
  9. He already did and Peter said he'd get it fixed. Does it seem like there are more typos and continuity errors than usual in OB?
  10. Some of the gems in Urithiru talk about it as well. It seems likely that a Dustbringer or something like that shattered them.
  11. Remember, Nale is a little bit (or a lot) crazy. Humans were the current law of the land until the Fused arrived. Now that they're back, and are sapient, the law of the land is technically *their* law, so he has to follow them, now. Or something like that. Previous Desolations, he wasn't nuts.
  12. Please put [OB] in your topic title and change it to be more generic, per the spoiler policy at the top.
  13. I agree that the timing of the return of his memories was likely contrived by Cultivation. You'll probably want to make your topic title more generic, though, as per the Spoiler policy.
  14. That actually might fit with the theory I'm evolving about Nalthis/Returned and Roshar/Alethi/Iriali. If the Alethi have some Returned blood in them, then that could explain the height and the hair.
  15. Right, but I was just rereading parts of Mistborn, and Secret History. Ruin claimed not to be Ruin, but Change. He tried to convince both Vin and Kelsier that he was a force for good, that mankind needed him to prevent stagnation, etc. Odium uses nearly the same arguments, which makes me seriously doubt his words. Mistborn: Secret History spoilers:
  16. Is the Bondsmith's underlying principle maybe Connection? We know Connection is a fundamental Cosmere principle.
  17. Uh oh, I found another E (not dead...yet!). Rust Elthal. He's one of the soldiers that Adolin gives a set of Plate to.
  18. Odium was watching, not present, and not represented by just Szeth. Also, Szeth was likely being influenced by Odium, since he was doing the signature, "This isn't my fault, I have no control over myself" denials that give Odium power over people.
  19. Dalinar's visions don't seem to have a lot of confirmed Alethi paired with descriptions, so they might have looked different back then. Do we know when the Alethi and Riri haircolors started being a thing? Or maybe just a few groups of Returned migrated to Roshar a few centuries ago, thanks to the easy Investiture, and their blood spread out into the general populations of the area. We know that there are lots of varieties of humans (and humanoids) on Roshar. Or, there were Returned long before we know of them, and some of them went to Roshar. (Vo is the first documented Returned, but I don't think he was actually the very first person ever to Return. )
  20. But Brandon also says that the bulk of a KR's power is coming from somewhere else. So unless they're actively holding Stormlight, they're not super-invested. That, I can actually agree with. I think you're right that something really funky is going on with Rosharan afterlife. Maybe they are being imprisoned somewhere. But once released, I think they would immediately go to the Spiritual Realm, and not be able to maintain being CS without assistance. But that just proves that Eshonai and Elhokar aren't Cognitive Shadows running around Roshar
  21. Think of the mix of lies that Ruin told to Vin. I see Odium as doing the same thing to Dalinar.
  22. Don't they have stone hooves and gemhearts? That would definitely indicate Roshar nativeness.
  23. There's a couple threads on the Recreance timeline floating around.
  24. Sorry, I edited to add another WoB that states Mistborn and KR are invested about the same amount.
