Marvel is obviously setting up a Spider-verse movie.

I've never seen the Dark Crystal, so I have no nostalgic dog in this fight. But yeah, no kidding. 12-issue comic sequel, Power of the Dark Crystal.

Ah. Well, I'm guessing that dividing by islands maybe affected the gameplay difficulty? Hopefully get harder going on... So far as getting lost...I like having the question marks in theory. They are nice little map markers for when you turn on the game and forget what you were meant to be doing. It would be nice if they didn't trigger cutscenes, though. It does drive the pace forward a lot; I felt like exploring after I finished the first Grand Trial meant I was plating the game wrong.

Exp Share might be helping with the ease of difficulty. I appreciate not have to grind, but Popplio became Brionne and I used him maybe in a dozen fights? OR=Omega Ruby? Honestly, I'm digging this game. I like Team Skull, and the whole tone is... Alola feels like a unique region. The last game I really finished was Ruby, and while Kanto, Johto and Hoenn had their differences, they didn't feel as diverse or immersion as Alola. Honestly, I'm considering treating this as a straight up role-playing game for a change. I'll probably finish Sun to get a feel for it, then restart and do a Let's Play-style RP of the game on a second run through, because it feels like that would be fun.

...is now a bad time to tell you the Dark Crystal is getting a sequel?

Considering how I one-shot the Kahuna's pokemon, I think I might have gone too far. Then again, I had type advantage on my side, so...

"So. Cute." Cute wasn't normally a word Lyla would be caught dead using, but it looked like Shiny was having an effect on worming her way into the girls vocabulary. Beside, was there really a better word for describing the way the cat was prowling around the epic? For a very brief second, Lyla felt an odd sort of kinship with Neko. She squatted, staring at the cat. "I always wanted a pet," she said. She sounded as enthusiastic as ever, but there was something just slightly different about it. Her voice, her eyes and her smile were lacking that manic quality from before, replaced with...something else. "I mean, I begged my parents," she added. "Like, literally, straight-up begged. Like, it could be my birthday present. Or a Halloween present. Or a Christmas present. Or a Hannukha present. I musta learned, like, every holiday on the calender so I could suggest it at them. Musta worked too, 'cause they said yes! There was this puppy I was thinkin' of getting. Or maybe a rabbit. But then..." But then Calamity happened, and a pet didn't really seem that important anymore. And then Koschei happened, and- "So, hey, I can pet it right?" she said, looking up at Lucy. Her voice jumped up an octave again, that light sparking back into her expression. "I mean, to be straight-up, kinda jealous right now! Guess this shows cats are smart, if they make a beeline straight for the epics, huh?" She didn't really wait for permission; Lyla never really waited for anything. She reached out to pet the animal behind the ears. Whatever that tone a moment ago had been -pensieve? Reflection?- it was gone now; Lyla probably wouldn't have been able to say what it was, if she had even noticed.

Cool, thanks! That quote reenforces one of my favorite things abut Brandon's writing, the fact he does write such a varied cast.

First of all... I really, really hope I'm not offending anyone with this. I ask, not out of ignorance, but because of ignorance, and asking questions about things helps me understand them better. Plus, this community has one of the most open and friendly fandoms, so I figure it's probably the safest place to have said ignorance curbed by friendly discourse. Second, and to the topic at hand: I like Steris. I've (finally) gotten started on Bands of Mourning, and I've enjoyed the larger role she's been playing so far. As I was reading it though, one of her lines really struck me, a line to the effect of "I don't see or think about things the way other people do." ...Which, leads me to the topic title; would Steris be regarded as neurologically atypical? In Alloy of Law and Shadows of Self, Steris penchant for making lists of things that could go wrong seemed like a small character quirk to me, rather than being indicative of anything in particular... But that line has me wondering if it's meant to be anything more than that? Does Steris' behaviour match up with neuroatypical behaviour?

Two hours into Pokemon Sun, and I realized that I have no idea what the level curve in these games is anymore. I'm at the trainer school, and my Popplio is my highest level Pokemon at 10 (with some guys behind him at the 6-10 mark). Is that too high? Too low? (Also, I need to find the Pokemon renamer, stat. Aside from him, though, gonna try and play this game as clean as possible.)

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

I know nothing about any of these things. How would you pitch them? -
The guards; on my first sitting, I totally thought there was something going on with them. I actually thought they seemed...almost lobotimised. So, Imperius? Yes. Headcanon accepted.

I am trying to stay true to Primarina, stop tempting me with Owliver Queen.

I literally just got home from the cinema. Look, I'll square with you guys: I don't like the Potter films very much. Don't get me wrong, there is good stuff in them; good acting, good effects, Alan Rickman. But overall, the films left me feeling more frustrated than enchanted. And look, the movie has it's flaws, certainly. I'll probably go into details once I let the film digest some. But it's the first time since Goblet of Fire where I left a Potter film and didn't hate the material. In fact, I kind of liked it? Could have been better, naturally, but still. I liked it just fine. ...Newt struck me as rather Doctor-ish, though.

Anastasia is, at best, a mixed film. Saying the history is wrong qualifies as the understatement of the century, nd the way it treats Rasputin and the Russian Revolution is, at best, disingenuous, at worst an insult. ...but damnation if the guy didn't have a great villain song.

Okay, I know what you're thinking: why do we need a fanart thread if we have galleries? Well, for one, I think that a thread might be a good place for the artists from the gallery to show off their works and get a big more of a response. Maybe it's just e, but I do find the gallery a little difficult to navigate sometimes. Besides that, though... not everyone who is a fan of Brandon's is on this site, and some of those people make fantastic pieces of art. Sharing fan art sounds like fun to me, but I wouldn't be comfortable posting someone elses' fan art in the official galleries without their permission... so a thread like this seemed like a fair compromise. ...On which note, here is an awesome piece of fan art which I found when looking for Kaladin pics for memes. The artist is called Sartic, and they seem to have a few Sanderson art in their deviantart profile.

...Well. I've started watching Dragonball Super. Just the most recent episodes; gonna try and pick up the back episodes as I go forward, but... Yeah. Dragonball Super; anyone else watching it?
-
Haven't seen it yet, scrolled past the above. Quick question: Is there a post-credits scene?

That is awesome. I hope there are multiple Eevee in Sun and Moon, because if so? Full team of Eevee. Eevee is one if my favorite families.

I'm trying to resist the urge to go with Rowlett. Stop tempting me with awesome.
-
Eh. Ruby was the last game I really played, and I had Mudkip, so...
-
Sorry. Are you saying that Bulbasaur and Chikorita aren't awesome? ... I mean, I can't vouch for later gens, but Red/Blue, Gold/Silver were the best, and Bulbasaur and Chikorita are awesome. So.

So...is it just me, or does the timeline not make any sense between these shows now? - Arrow jumped ahead a few months between seasons, as usual. No problem there. - Legends is time travel, but the present day showed Mayor Queen. So, presumably, the present at part of the pilot happened within a similar time frame to Arrow. Okay. - Barry spent three months in Flashpoint...then he went back to the night he defeated Zoom. So doesn't that mean he "should" be three months behind the other shows? Nitpicking I know, but still.
