It was a holy place, and he was a holy man. Today, they came to blaspheme.

This is probably better than Nalan's form of justice. ...Probably. Not that 've seen, but I'm not terribly observant. ... I am, kind of, considering an Arrow/Agents of Shield crossover fan fiction, and I'm not sure if that's a terrible idea or not.

So...according to the latest issue if Green Lanterns, two people in glowing green costumes and a short, blue steampunk alien will blend right into Portland. ...yeah, sounds legit. Reckoner Portland wouldn't so much as bat an eye.

Continuing my theme of making this thread my go-to for playlists... a song that might fit for the heralds, their relationship with the peoples of Roshar, and their cycle of Desolation, War and Death.

You've known me for more than twenty years. How many more times do I have to tell you that if you're going to smoke in the car, roll down the window? I don't want to breath it in.

Legends starts this week, but I'm working, so... just settling for recording. I am cautiously optimistic though; the JSA are awesome, so having them around should be fun. Though, it is a disappointment to see that Savage and the Hawks didn't work out. I've said elsewhere, an immortal is the perfect enemy for a time traveller, and the fact that last season couldn't live up to it's potential plot-wise is very disappointing. (The action scenes with all the Legends last year were awesome though, and I hope that quality stays in play)

Well, the Arrowverse is back! Actually, they've been stateside for a few weeks now; the UK just started last week, and I just finished the second episode of Flash. My main takeaway from it?

Question: do pugs bite? I mena... they're dogs. I assume they would bark and bit someone, if pushed. But everythign I've seen in reference to them focuses on them being adorable or cowardly, or whatever. I'm not trying to besmirch the good name of pug pups. I'm just saying I don't think I'd put a baby next to a dog.

That was my intent...but now I'm picturing Keanu!Constantine and it's hilarious. (I like to think that Keanu!Constantine became a surfer bro after his movie was over.)

My favorite Harry Potter AU prompt is "Constantine is the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher". Because that concept is amazing.

Good stories are built upon the splintered words and malformed turns of phrases of bad ones. And so, as we enter this season of spooks and frights, I propose we should make like ghoulish graverobbers and exhume these literary abominations from their tombs. For when hell is full, the Mary Sue shall walk the earth! ...in less sensationalist, and quickly dated, words... I think we all want to write good ideas. That doesn't deny that everyone has had some bad ideas. Power fantasies, shallow characters, "borrowed" plots, generic locals and, yes, the ever dreaded and derided "Mary Sue"... So...counterpoint to the Creation Daily thread (but one which might help spark the sane creative flames): what are the worst ideas you've ever had?

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Quiver replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
I've just had a terrible day at work. It was busy, all day. 12 hours, near constant work, with Halloween bring out the worst kind if miscreants and ne'er do Wells. When other people tell you to calm down and breath, you know you're getting stressed. ... I'm not posting in the wring thread, I'm building up: I have two days off now.- 4900 replies

Quiver replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
See, everything I read stuff like this, I worry hat it sounds like me. Fortunately, I have yet to Master bilocation and don't have a library job yet, but still. Sympathies for not being safe in your online or offline worlds. -

That's fair. I dunno watched the first episodes of Flash and Arrow. I enjoyed them...but the latter made me start to wonder: do I watch Arrow because I like it, or is it habit forming? I loved the series in the first two seasons. There's been things about season 3 and 4 I liked. But I, overall, don't like those two seasons. I want to love the show again. I feeling a traitor that I don't.

What do you do when a show, or a book, or a whatever, disappoints you?

Just happened to catch a little bit of an early Avatar episode. Sokka referred to "his" grandfather. Did he ever talk about his and Katara's mom? Could they actually be half-siblings?

Nintendo Switch announcement... Any Thoughts?
Quiver replied to RippleGylf's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I have no idea how it works. Like, at all. I've been kind of curious about diving back into the Nintendo pool though, and handheld are their best platform. Still, more system details, please?- 12 replies

I object. Twilight's description contained no mention of her pug overlord, and is therefore an inaccurate example of self-advertisement.

ENTIRE COSMERE OPTIONED FOR MOVIES
Quiver replied to PallonianFire's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I wonder if a movie might be an interesting place to explore a White Sands type situation: original story, set in the Cosmere with characters and concepts familiar to fans, but still distinct enough to be it's own series. -
The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Quiver replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Flash and Arrow started this week! Haven't had a chance to watch, but I did catch the first five minutes of the Arrow premiere, and damnation. That fight was brutal. A few times, I had to stop, rewind and check that, yeah, that guy landed on his neck, or wow, the sheer strength Ollie throws is palpable through the screen. It ain't game changing; it was a five minute scene. It doesnt compare to the choreography of, say, The Climb, or the emotions of Ollie vs Slade. But it set a tone which was different from season 3 and 4, one which was darker, more brutal...more in line with seasons 1 and 2. That has me optimistic. -
So, I decided to check out how much starting a comic shop would cost, out of curiosity. I thoughtit'd be...well, I wasn't expecting the answers I saw. That ranged from $50,000 - $100,000. I. But. damnation. I have a new appreciation for how expensive books can be.

Yeah...in which case, the lack of a car and driving licence doesn't help things in that regard.
