  1. MenE continued to sweep and sweep some more. It was soothing in its own way. To him, it seemed like everyone had quieted down; as if the deaths of their fellow man had driven the point home to them. They could be next. It could also be due to the Cultists being more than acceptable of the targets of the current gossip. After all, MenE knew that at least he wouldn't go to his death quietly. Even if his protests wouldn't come out right due to his inability to put them into words. He would still scream and shout though. This room seemed different. It was almost as if they were guided to their decision.... He lost his focus on Duke Pifferdan. MenE would get his answer one way or the other eventually. Instead, his focus started to draw towards Kae and Jain. It seemed as it they were trying to guide the rumors that were spreading around and were trying to use any excuse to get someone else killed. He swept a little closer towards them, so that he could listen in on their conversations....
  2. MenE was sweeping the floors toady, rather than scrubbing the walls. The swish-swish of the broom was soothing to him after another death and the Shoad taking Sienene. Of course, he had predicted that the Cultists wouldn't take to being stuck in the palace very well, but it was one thing to know this and entirely another to see the aftermath. As he swept, he picked up on the conversations of those around him. Dow's name seemed to getting tossed around a lot today, especially for his hand in the death of Fel the day before. MenE didn't see it though. It seemed like Dow was being offered as a scapegoat, someone that everyone else could focus on while the Cultists stayed hidden. He could even use their own arguments against them. As Jain had pointed out, there were plenty of people who weren't speaking up, so why did they pick Fel? The same could be asked of him though- why Dow? There were plenty of people involved in the lynching of Fel, so why focus on Dow? Of course, the worst part of the situation with Dow was that Jain and the rest were making the assumption that Fel (now Mek) was innocent. How could they know whether or not Fel/Mek wasn't a Cultists? What if he was? How did they seem so sure? There was just something that felt wrong about the entire thing to MenE. And he still hadn't found an answer for Duke Pifferdan's odd actions the other day! MenE continued to sweep and to think. The clues were buried in his mind somewhere, he just needed to sort them out!
  3. Well, it does kind of make the day a bit of a wash though (It's night time and I'm being lazy, so no RP from me right now). I'm not complaining, as I think this is the fairest route to go with, but it means that now, a lot of the reasons behind who voted for whom within the situation can't be counted on. We can't count on any of Mek's previous arguments to make any sense now. For all we know, we could have gotten lucky and lynched a Cultist right there, but now, it's all still up in the air. I was planning on coming in, considering I asked any village vote manipulation roles to hold off, and pointing out that Mek was likely good due to the manipulation that tried to get him lynched before everyone did so many changes near the end there (this still tells us plenty though. It means that those vote manipulations likely weren't on in time to switch their actions around the end of the day...), but now, all of that is again up in the air. We lost not only a solid argument for Mek being a Villager, but also a lot of the drive behind the arguments and discussion behind Mek's almost lynch; which is one of our greatest tools to finding the Cultists. Again, this is still the fairest of all options that I can see, but now we have to start from scratch within many notions as well and we shouldn't forget that. Edit: Also, what's up with the "Late Votes" tag? Is it a forum change? Will everything now have a tag in front of it?
  4. Nathanael went off after the guards that were taking away the Patriarch's body and as MenE lost sight of him, his attention shifted back to something that had been nagging him since early on: Why had Duke Pifferdan only spoken up to let everyone know he was innocent and then draw back and away from the rest of the debate?
  5. MenE made his way around the room, scrubbing and cleaning as he went. While it was his job to clean, it also let him listen in on conversations happening around the room. That's how he picked up on the argument going on between Sienene and Kiireon. For himself, he wasn't worried too much about accidentally killing one of the few priests or warriors within the room. They would likely reveal themselves to the crowd, if it came to that, well before the votes had been tallied. And false claims could easily be sorted out. Domi surely wouldn't allow someone to pretend to be one of his clergy for long, would he? The amount of people who were proclaiming their innocence, but not trying to actually find the Cultists were growing and that worried MenE. Not only did that give any royalty the Jeskeri Mysteries had convinced to join them plenty of people to influence, but it also gave the Cultists plenty of room to hide. "It's easy to say you're innocent; it's entirely another to prove it." He had picked that one up from an argument between two thieves when he was at the market one day. It seemed to fit here as well. MenE would have to keep a watch on those that seemed to just be talking to be heard and not really contributing. It was a pretty common Cultist tactic after all. Stay just enough in the light to make it seem like you're there, but never commit to anything.
  6. Kaian continued to enlighten everyone to, for a runaway (it was obvious in the way that he carried himself. He kept looking over his shoulder, as if he was expecting someone there; a nervous tick, most likely. He also, when confronted, automatically began to fall into some of the beginning supplication forms practiced by the Shu-Dereth. His clothing, while obviously new after he left, still continued to match a similar color scheme and design. Old habits die hard.), some very salient points. But, MenE thought. Was he trying too hard? He seemed utterly focused on Locke and so quickly for such a small quibble. His reasoning was logical, based on the evidence presented, but, to MenE, it also felt forced; as if Kaian was trying to make an Elantrian out of a bruise. MenE filed it away as a reminder to not get too focused on a singular person and to keep his suspicions fluid. To try to get a read of everyone within the room. Perhaps Kaian was right, but it was still too early to say. He took note of Locke and started filing information away from what he could gleam. His biggest concern was still over the many faces that still shuffled in the background. True, there was a strong likelihood that some of the Cultist had already spoken up, but with so many standing silently in the face of a murder right in front of them, MenE couldn't help but wonder if they were all apathetic to the cause.
  7. MenE tried to stay out of the way of all the guards running back and forth, trying to secure the exits and get statements from everyone. He continued to scrub along the walls, constantly whispering, "Merciful Domi" again and again, as if it was a mantra or chant. While his body was occupied, his mind was racing. He kept filtering through everything he'd heard and everything he'd read about the Jeskeri Mysteries (one nice side effect of being an unnoticed cleaner was access to the royal library and all of its books). The first thing he noted was the brand that was left on the Patriarch's chest; it was a Jesker symbol for "Infidel," but it had an accent to it that, if his memory served him (and it had so far), also symbolized the idea of War or Mission. To MenE, this meant that this was not an isolated attempt. There would likely be more murders and more blood before this was over; especially with the killers now trapped. He recalled a saying he had heard from a sailor down by the docks, "A shark in the nets always fights harder." Well, while the guards meant well and they were just trying to capture the people responsible, they had also put the killer within a net and everyone here was trapped in the net with them. If only he could tell them what they were doing, but before he could open his mouth, his ears picked up on the sounds of conversation in the room and his mind went off racing after it; making connections and pulling up other facts. Kaian seemed to be dominating the discussion, trying to find anyone and everyone who had a "difficulty" with the Shu-Korath faith. MenE found himself agreeing with him. While it was obviously the Jeskeri cultists that had committed the murder, the Shu-Dereth were an equally big threat and, as shown in the histories, the Gyorn and his Odiv would capitalize on this atrocity if left unchecked. He even agreed with Kaian's call to make converts name themselves, so that the progress of the Gyorn could be tracked and kept in check. "I-" he started to say, so that he could lend his voice to Kaian's, when again, another tangent drew his attention. Many people started speaking up with concern about their chances of survival; specifically that the royalty, like the Dukes and Princes and such would be able to buy their way out of getting killed in this wild manhunt. It was a valid concern. With so many people influencing the voting process, it would be all too easy for someone to change the votes in their favor. The answer to that was obvious though: the only people that would have cause to try to manipulate votes at the early stages of the game were likely those that wished to see a specific outcome; aka, the Jeskeri Cultists at this point. If someone else had decided to grease some palms, they were working against the greater good of the group, as the group needed a baseline of consensus to work from before they tried to use their influence to get someone they thought was a Cultist killed. Someone just wanting to use their power just for the sake of it was, essentially, hindering any progress that the Non-Cultist, Non-Gyorn people within the room had of making wise decisions. He had read something similar in a book about Art and War some time back. It had said something about only using your powers until they were needed, for strategic effect, or something along those lines. Doing otherwise would just cause chaos. As such, the most likely outcome, though there were plenty of ways to manipulate the voting process, was that only those that were Cultists (or Debtors that are also Dukes/Princes, but that's unlikely so early, IMO) would likely be using their status/role to influence things to early on. The one thing that this hectic group did have to worry about though, was people influencing those that stayed on the sidelines and never spoke up. Those people were susceptible to Princes and Princesses alike. By not speaking up for themselves, they were throwing themselves at the feet of their sovereign lords and ladies; similar to those that didn't decide to cast a ballot themselves. It was simple process of elimination in MenE's mind: Remove the opportunity for the Princes and Princesses to use their influence and it would eliminate the number of people who could still influence the vote. He was about to state as much when Duke Pifferdan broke his concentration with an outburst about how he wished to live and little else. He was then sent spiralling back down and around his own thoughts. The crowd was a blur of faces, none of them very friendly or evil within themselves. Any one of them could hide a Cultist behind it. The room seemed to spin around him as he tried to pick out details, only to be bombarded with other little snippets (like the fact that Duke Pifferdan's suit was wearing at the edges, which suggested that he had fallen on harder times than he let on) like trying to catch a specific raindrop in a downpour. One face did seem to stand out from the crowd though. Nathanael seemed to be standing along the edges of the crowd and was that the lingerings of a grin on his face? MenE continued his scrubbing. Every time he tried to speak up, something else would catch his eye. But, maybe, Domi willing, something within what he saw would help keep the "shark" at bay. So basically every game I tend to start out with the lofty expectation that I will stay in character for the entire game and I'm going to continue to try to do so until I get too lazy to! As such, all my arguments are up there. The one thing I will put down here is that, if we can't decide on someone to go after this day due to information, I suggest that we go after a lurker. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Cultists are sitting back so far (it's what I would do) and just letting us kill ourselves. Plus, they're not helping us get a read on who is who. We shouldn't (and I won't) sit back and try to wait for specific roles to tell us what to do. The most important part of this game is, and always will be IMO, our ability to persuade and logically deduce when something doesn't add up. We can do that through the discussion alone. Also, as I said above, if everyone votes, we take away a lot of the Princes and Princesses power, so we need to encourage everyone to be involved!
  8. I had been on to you for quite some time before that; ever since Alv, Araris. The problem was that we (Luckat and I) had some discrepancies in our information due to an error the GMs made (it was a very complicated situation, so I don't blame them), which set us back time and again on trying to be able to trust each other. If that hadn't happened, trying to call me Spiked in the PMs would've never worked out. Notice that I never gave that group PM the results of the second scans after all that. The only reason you were still alive was because we didn't want to give the other Kandra a reason to side with the Spiked and because we had bigger fish to fry. We figured that if we killed all the Spiked that it wouldn't matter if you had sided with them; they'd still be dead and we'd win. If the game wasn't over, I believe the plan was to take you and Dow out at night. You, because you were obviously siding with the Spiked and Dow because he was next on our suspect list. Since Dow was willing to be scanned, we didn't have any solid ideas for who to look at next, so killing you was going to be like damage control; try to make sure that the Spiked didn't have any allies left to help them. Still, I was surprised to find out that you were a Kandra at all initially! I never even considered the Blessing of Presence as a means to get past the enhanced emotional allomancy! I was so focused on any way the Spiked could have gotten in, I totally missed that possibility! To the Spiked, you guys just wound up with one case of bad luck right after the other. I think there might have been a bit too much protection in this game, because you guys just kept hitting people with some form of protection! Either that or it was just bad luck on who you picked. Twei, you did an amazing job. If it wasn't for the caved roof, I think we still had you pegged as one of the more likely people we had left to nail down as good! Over all, this was a very fun and very complex game! I had a lot of fun with it!
  9. You have no idea how tempted I am! Instead, I'll go with MenE. The capitalization is important. MenE's parents had such great plans for him. His original name was MEne, named after the Aon, Ene; the aon of wit and cleverness. He had seemed so clever as a toddler. He could figure out the difference between a round hole and a square one with ease. He was counting before his first year! But as time wore on, MenE seemed to lose momentum. Social cues became difficult to him. Abstract math and reading were a mystery to him. It was almost as if he had become one of the Heod himself, except that he exhibited none of the regular signs. Luckily, his family used their last influence to find him a job as the palace, sweeping and scrubbing floors. What no one knew, what no one expected, was that MenE's mind was a steel trap. He had learned too much and it kept getting jumbled up inside his head. If he could ever figure out how to make use of it, he'd have more secrets than any rivaling nation. The question is, of course, if....
  10. Take heart, Maill! You'd likely be part of "and whoever is most likely to kill you," so you'd be on our side! But Hael brings up a good point. This early speculation just gives whomever is the Eliminators a lot more to work with. It's so convoluted that we'll likely not be able to figure out which route they went with anyways, but we are seeding ideas for them; giving them stuff to work off of. I'm not complaining though! I'm loving the crazy theories even before the game starts! Maybe if we can go full circle on this, we'll all be so confused that the Eliminators won't be able to make heads or tails of it either! Carry on!
  11. I have a bad habit of being able to turn trolling me into something that actually works for me. Pairing me with anyone just gives me one person that I absolutely know isn't going to kill me and, somehow, I'd probably figure out some way to use that to kill everyone! Wilson knows this. I doubt she'd want to give me an edge, just in case I wasn't on the same team as her!
  12. I'll be signing up for this game. I called dibs on it with the other Mods when it was first revealed! I just haven't come up with a character yet, but that's coming. Honestly, in my experience, the first couple of days is when a good chunk of people wind up signing up. The middle days, it lags a bit and everyone starts getting in some RP and developing their characters. Then, near the end, there's the stragglers (Hi!) that are either trying to come up with a character or just wait until the last minute or just found out about it. In other words, you'll probably break 30 with this game, but I wouldn't expect it to get too much larger, especially after some people go inactive. If I'm wrong, I'd have no problems with that either! As far as your question goes, the biggest thing is to try to be consistent. If 24 hours during the night isn't enough time for you to get everything together and to record/PM everyone, then that is a good reason to extend the time; not whether or not the rest of us can. If someone wasn't willing to get their orders in before the 24 hour deadline, they likely won't get it in before a 48 hour deadline as long as you're consistent with where the specific deadline is. Your (and ours) biggest concern should be to help lessen the burden placed on you. Personally, as long as you think you can handle it, I prefer the 24 hour nights. But, if you would like the extra time, to make sure that everything stays on track, I will always bow to the convenience and ease on our GMs over my preference every time.
  13. Honestly, Luckat and I wound up going every piece of information we have from scans, to what people have told us, to actions in thread, and so on before last night ended. We figured that if she or I died, it would be a good idea if someone else had the information as well. From all that information, we had at least soft confirms on everyone except for Sart, Twei, and yourself. We knew either Sart or Twei had to be the Hemalurgic Iron. Well, Sart died and thus gave us confirmation on him (thanks Sart! ) and when he showed up good, we knew Twei had to be Spiked. As such, you're the last on our list out of everyone that we don't have at least a soft confirm on. If you're not Spiked, we've either won or we'd have to start looking at people who have soft confirms (things that have the ability to be countered, like someone bypassing the use of enhanced Rioting/Soothing due to an Aluminum Hat). But since we don't have anything on you, you'd obviously be the first person we'd want to check. If it's not game over, would you submit to being scanned tonight?
  14. The wood in the columns couldn't be pulled or pushed! It must have been an inside job! That was brilliant, Twei. On the bright side, we basically had it narrowed down to you, Dow, or Sart (and if there's still another Spiked out there, my first guess is Dow), so at least this way, you get to go out after probably killing the most people within a single turn! If the game doesn't end, maybe there will be 72 virgins waiting for you in the Dead Doc! Twinborn Village 5/15: Never Forget.
  15. That's the only reason I know because it's the one given to me by the GMs. So unless you want to argue with them about it, I don't have a better reason. Are you calling Ella a liar as well now? After she was scanned by Vine and is thus a confirmed villager? What would be the benefit of her giving me a false list of those that had claimed to her? To get villagers killed? Do you see why I don't find that to be very likely? Do you have another explanation for last night's activities?
  16. I don't have a lot of time right now. I wanted to do up an entire RP about how Malrick is distraught with the loss (at least temporarily) of the Alehouse, but for now, I'll just give you guys the basics. Kirrah was the one to pull the roof down on everyone. Ostrich was scanned by Vine and we know Vine was good, so Kirrah is the only other person left! On top of that, she lied to Ella about what powers she had and the only reason to do that is if you have a reason to want to hide your powers. And finally, one of my Bronze scans pulled up hemalurgic Feruchemical iron, so this was likely a Spiked attack. Ella and I were trying to figure out where it was coming from when the ceiling fell in and solved that mystery for us. I was also attacked last night (I was the "somebody"). If today doesn't finish off the game, we have only a few people left that haven't been checked out and there shouldn't be more than one or two more Spiked; at least that would be my guess! EDIT: Araris, Acer was in B2 last night. They're dead and thus proven to be good.
  17. These Night Cycles are going so long that we're discussing typical day time activities during the night, basically just because we can. Newan is still part of this, right? Can't say I've heard or seen from him in quite awhile (I hope it's not because of something horrible in RL! If so, you have my sympathies, Newan). As such, I'd like to extend my thanks to Aonar for basically running this solo, as he's had to do.
  18. The first one, Wonko. I wouldn't say my character has much of a love of history unless it relates to his family history, but that doesn't mean that he's going to abandon the friendship entirely. I'll try to do up some RP later tonight. Considering this now seems like it's a done deal, I retract my call for an extension so that we can move things along. If not, we'd just be sitting here for the next 24 hours, as I don't think Jaelre is going to step forward to try to defend himself.
  19. Call for extension. If we let today go to a null vote, then we let the Spiked win already, as they have control over the vote because too many people stopped paying attention. So vote. Standing on the side lines doesn't get you involved; it just makes you a bystander. If you're confused or have doubts, express them! That's better than being silent. By putting all my info out there, I'm trusting in the Village to actually act. So show that you're worth that trust. Object, confirm, do something that shows that you're still there. Apathy will win the Spiked this game as this point. Prove me wrong. I gave you another 24 hours. Don't waste it.
  20. Then it's a good thing I already planned to! Malrick tried to reach Millie, but the push of the crowd was too strong. They beat at him, like the lashings he'd heard the Lord Ruler's Nobles did to their children to awaken their latent potential. And something broke within him. He'd seen far too much death these last few days and he'd had enough. He felt the weight of all of his ancestors and of their drive to find a world where they could live out their lives in peace; away from the machinations of the Lord Ruler. He couldn't, he wouldn't, let their dream die to the first invaders to their Village. It was time to reveal his potential. So, he drew on his steel and iron reserves, heightened his senses and his speed with pewter and tin. It was time to find the last of the Spiked.... _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ As stated above, I'm a Mistborn. Last night, there were at least 7 attacks made towards me. Luckily, I was burning Atium as well (something I won't be able to do tonight, which is why I put all of this out here for all of you now) and I was capable of changing my actions to survive. I wasn't given a list of everyone who attacked me, as the GMs thought that might be a bit too powerful, considering how many attacks wound up coming my way. Instead, they gave me the name of the person that dealt the final blow to me. I find it amusing that you're now trying to discredit me, Neo, since you were one of the people who attacked me last night. Even with me switching actions, I was still hit twice (armor is good to have as well!) The fact that I was attacked so many times means that the Spiked are well aware of my capabilities. As such, it's time to even the score and let the rest of you know, as I'm unlikely to survive for long. I found the Lerasium Bead on Night 5 and swallowed it on Night 6. I then performed a double enhanced scan with bronze and tin. This allowed me to have a pretty good idea of who was where and what powers were in which rooms, specifically Hemalurgic powers. Of course, this doesn't tell me whether those powers are Spiked or Kandra; though at this point, I'm starting to wonder if there is a difference. You see, Alv tried to claim that he was a Kandra. We provided him with a test to prove whether or not he could see the Kandra doc. He passed this test, which means that at the very least, some of the Kandra are working with the Spiked. Not to mention that there were, understandably, only a few people that I trusted with my secret of becoming a Mistborn. So here's a list of people who are likely to be either Kandra or Spiked and afterwards, we can see if the the Kandra will actually work with us to narrow the field down further or if they plan to work with the Spiked. If they decide to work with the Spiked, then we should kill them without prejudice as well. Araris Neo Wonko Feligion Jain Jaelre Araris is on the list because he's been telling people that (after he found out that I gained Mistborn status) that I am Spiked. I have this from multiple sources. Also, via the two scans I've made, he has Hemalurgic Pewter. So, if he is Kandra, then he is a Kandra working for the Spiked and trying to get me killed. Neo is on the list, well, because he tried to kill me! If it hadn't been for the Atium, I wouldn't have anything on him yet, as he hasn't revealed any powers during times that I've scanned. Most likely Spiked. Wonko is the Kandra that Phatt attacked early on. I don't know where he stands on the issue of aiding the Spiked, but he was in the same room as Vine was on the night that Vine died. To be fair though, so was Alv. Feligion is a Kandra and one of the places that I wound up hearing that Araris is claiming that I am Spiked to others. If I hadn't heard it from other people ahead of time, I wouldn't have believed it, but this had been backed up by others. Plus, he's admitted he's a Kandra in thread, so I don't think I need to go into detail here. Jain is likely a Kandra, but whether he's helping the Spiked or not, I cannot say. I haven't had any contact with him other than in thread. Jaelre almost assuredly killed Skrull last night as he was in the same room as Skrull. Also, it was no coincidence that I called him out the other day. My previous scan placed him in a room with one other person. In that same room was a normal ability and a Hemalurgic one, so one of the two had to be a Spiked/Kandra. I believe him to be Spiked. Now, I might still be missing one or two, but these are the ones that I am confident in. If the Kandra would like to survive, I suggest that they side with the Village at this point and clarify which out of the above actually are Spiked and which are Kandra. I fully suspect that the Kandra will see how loyal the Spiked are when they themselves try to claim to be Kandra. The one thing that I can guarantee you is that you're very unlikely to accidentally kill a Villager if you kill from the above list. Now, personally, I'd love to see Neo hang, since he tried to kill me (plus, I suspect that he'll continue trying the next night as well), but in the interest of proving my information as valid, Jaelre is our best bet of hitting another Spiked. I have gotten my scans to someone that I do trust in this game, so even if the Spiked kill me tomorrow, someone will have the information and my death will be able to confirm what I've said here is true. If you have questions for me, I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks and here's to our future victory!
