Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Metacognition replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Nope, just a missed vote on my part. I thought I had caught them all, but missed that one. I even went through thread twice! >.< To answer your question though, If a vote is Soothed, it would show up as a "No Vote." Similar with Rioting. The vote itself will be moved, including the person who was moved (The Rioter's vote would drop off similarly to a Soothed vote). -

Night 2: Open the Taps Satrams breathed a sigh of relief when he woke up the next day to a clean tavern. For some reason, he had tossed and turned all night in the fear that some would defile it. He chalked it up to paranoia over the supposed saboteurs that were running around in the town and opened up shop. It didn’t take long in the day for people to start pouring in, tracking ash everywhere and making Satrams twitch. Some of his early clientele had the red-rimmed eyes and drooping faces of people who had been up all night. Whether that was due to helping put out the inferno at the barracks or from other, more nefarious purposes, Satrams couldn’t guess. He just kept the taps open for everyone and tried to sweep away any offending dust. By the time news of what had happened to Vron had made its way to the tavern, a decent portion of the town was already there. Satrams had been hesitant about letting Recco use some of his space for his so-called food, but ever since he had set up, the tavern had become the place where everyone came for a bite to eat as well and now they both made a nice little profit. That also meant that it was where everyone started fighting over the events of last night as well though. It started innocently enough, with guesses and assumptions. There was even a little friendly banter between people who disagreed. All that changed when Eoladdin showed up. If Satrams hadn’t had his Coppercloud up, he would have assumed that the crazy lunatic was Rioting people! Suddenly the arguments started to turn ugly and there were threats and daggers were there used to be chuckles. Satrams just sat silently behind his bar, silently hoping that this tension would break before it erupted into chaos…. or at least that everyone would leave the tavern before then! Eventually, what he feared would happen, happened; they asked him his opinion. Such a precarious place to be in, especially with as unruly as things had gotten. “Uhhh, well, ahem! I suppose that Karnad does seem to be trying to win people over. Might just be because he’s new in town; might not. I guess we’ll have to see. Would you like another round?” As the crowd went back to their arguing, Satrams heaved a sigh of relief. It wasn’t a perfect answer, but hopefully that would satisfy them and they’d leave him and his bar alone now. ….It didn’t. Before he knew it, they crowd seemed to trying to read so much into his answer, that he was surprised they didn’t accuse him of specifically stating that he had burned down the barracks last night too! He checked again. Yes, his copper was there, burning steadily. This wasn’t due to any emotional allomancers; this was just a frightened and confused group of people. Just before the rising tempers reached their breaking point, Satrams made what he knew would be his final decision. If he couldn’t save himself, he could at least save his tavern from being pulled down around him! He ran. The crowd surged after him as he bolted out of his tavern and into the street. He didn’t make very far though. Captain Teys had been waiting outside, likely just waiting for the mob to break before re-establishing order. Great, Satrams thought. Now I won’t be able to convince them and my bar wasn’t likely in danger anyways! Lord Ruler, help me for being a fool! After the hanging, Captain Teys performed the check of Satrams himself, but he found no spikes. “Alright lads,” he stated gruffly. “That’s enough for one day. Get some sleep. We still have a town to defend!” _________________________________________________________ Night 2 begins now and will last 24 hours! Everyone get your orders in! You're entirely right, you can't add new people to PM conversations that have been ongoing! That's basically using past information to help confirm yourself and is against the Fair Play Rules. This is also correct. Tin is passive, like pewter, in the fact that it doesn't have to be turned on or off. You do have to activate the message part though (obviously). -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss

Day 1: Philosopher’s Stone The building shook as the roof of the barracks collapsed, not that Vron was aware of such other than the shaking. The flames danced and the beakers rattled, but Vron kept his composure. He didn’t quite understand where it came from, but he felt calm under pressure anymore. He had a fleeting memory of him throwing bottles against a wall in frustration and then everything was calm again. Still, it wasn’t a good idea to ignore the outside world, so he put down the dropper and walked the few steps it took him to reach the door of his small workshop. As he opened the door, the first thing he noticed was that the mists seemed incredibly dark this night; almost as if they were covered in smoke. Jac was on his feet, peering through the mist, trying to make out where the new sun had come from, but hadn’t left his post. Vron prefered to use the town’s urchins as his messengers and couriers. Not only did this give them something to do with their time, but it also gave them a bit of coin and Vron knew how much they needed it. He stood there for a second, feeling a close connection to this particular urchin before subtly soothing away his curiosity. “I don’t pay you to stare off into mists, Jac.” Vron said with a slightly gruff, yet friendly exterior. “Where are the rest of your friends and what is going on!” Jac jumped a little before turning to Vron and kicking up some ash. “When they heard the crash, they all ran off.” -Jac eyed the direction of the blazing sky- “More likely, they headed towards the new sun. I’d be with’em too, but figured you’d want to know.” So it begins again, Vron thought, though he didn’t know where the idea had come from. He shook his head. “Rust right, I want to know what’s going on!” He said as he let up on his soothing. “So why are you still standing here? I need information, boy and you’re not going to find it for me here, now are you?” Jac hopped from foot to foot, eager to take off again. A grin of pure delight broke out on his face as he turned to take off after his compatriots. Vron was about to turn back to his studies when a thought shot through his head and he paused.. He stayed, it said. He stayed. He deserves better. Just before Jac shot off into the night, Vron threw up a hand and shouted, “Wait!” He didn’t know why he did it, but he trusted his memories. “Jac, your friends will be back here before you even get close. No sense in wasting time; especially since I have need of you tonight. Wait here.” Even as Vron turned, he knew that Jac was disappointed beyond belief and he soothed a bit of that away. He went into his shop and grabbed the first exotic item his eyes landed upon. It was a spike he had picked up from Urteau, some time back. He wrapped it in cloth and carried it back outside. “This is important, Jac. I need you to carry this to Luthadel for me. Here, take some boxings for the trip.” “And who would I be giving this to, sir?” “You’ll know them when you see them,” Vron growled. “Just make sure it gets there, okay?” Vron soothed away Jac’s fear and his hesitence before slamming the door for effect. As he leaned against the door, he heard the sound of running feet and sighed in relief. The Koloss were coming from the east, so Jac wasn’t likely to run into them on his journey. Why did he stick his neck out for a simple urchin? What had compelled him to give away one of his priceless artifacts? Vron shook his head, trying to clear his mind, as even he didn’t know. All he knew was that it felt right. He went to return to his work, but noticed that his brass was burning low. He walked towards the back of the room. He stepped on the creaky board that he kept meaning to get fixed and reached down into the cache he had hidden for himself. As he pulled it out, he noticed the slight tinge of green to the color of the flakes. They’re seriously going to have to do better than that, Vron thought as he shook his head. These flakes were obviously tainted. Even a beginner apprentice could tell that and Vron was no apprentice. As he went to throw them away, a note slipped out of his fingers. It had been attached to the back of the bag. We figured you’d be able to tell poisoned brass from regular brass, it read. We just needed to get you to step on that board for a moment. Vron’s eyes widened in surprise and he tried to dive to the side, but it was too late. The hatchet that was attached to a pendulum swung free from its housing in the rafters and connected with his head. _____________________________________ It had taken the better part of the night, but the fire was finally out. The weary villagers went their separate ways, looking for their beds for the rest of the night. It wasn’t until the morning that they found the messages scrawled into the remaining walls of the barracks and it took them a bit longer to find out that their saboteurs had been up to more than just arson last night. It wasn’t until a little urchin boy found the courage to open Vron’s door and then run screaming into Rent’s square before they learned the horrible truth. ...Their Alchemist was murdered… When they inspected the final, remaining wall of the barracks, they discovered three distinctive hands: Do not fear, Your tineye is here, To take your sorrows away. Come all tonight, And have us a bite, And sing our sorrows away. Our only weakness Through fire and flame, Through grief and shame, To all, a dinner divine. Sit down, sit down, ‘Round the table, around, And dance of a glory divine. Is the weakness of all. Your tineye is here, So have not fear, ‘Til we reach the ends of the globe. And upon the earth, We feel with great mirth, The shivers and shakes of the globe. Our only fear Of koloss and fires, And deathly desires, Our final wish come true. To dance with the stars, And fight through the wars, ‘Till all our last wishes come true. Is the fear of all. Do not fear, Your tineye is here, To take your sorrows away. A fiendish thought, A dastardly plot, Shall your tineye ward away. The next one read: Mists! I'm the Tineye again! All Spiked: kill me now. Please. With all my love. And finally: You’re all going to die. There’s a dead boy on my porch. It makes me think of lazy days in autumn. I’m sitting in my flower shop, no customers, 2 employees. This world though, is going to remember me and mine. _____________________________________________________ Day 1 begins and will last 48 hours from now! Vron turned out to be a Village Soother! Updated Player List Best of luck to everyone! -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss

Word to the wise, there is about 5 hours left to the night and I haven't received many orders. If you want to do something, better get those orders in! EDIT: I forgot to clarify on Eoladdin's question, so let me take a minute to do so. The answer is no, they can entirely turn off their coppercloud. It just means that they can be manipulated just the same as anyone else. It's basically a double-edged sword. You can either leave it off and open yourself to being manipulated by two roles or you can turn it on and be immune-ish to one role and basically block two others. It all depends on what is viewed as more valuable. -

Quick Fix Game 5: The Hunger Games!
Metacognition replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
As stated, I'm going to go ahead and lock this. Thanks so much for running this game, Peng and thank you everyone else for playing! It was truly an entirely new and different format and I thought it was a ton of fun! As we like to leave off every game, if anyone would like to try your hand at running a game, please get a hold of Gamma, Wilson or myself. Not only will we get you added to the list, but I'm sure we'd be more than willing to help out in any way we can as well! You can also ask questions and get some hints and feedback from everyone over here in our Art of Game Creation thread as well. With all the games that we've run so far, we have plenty of experienced GMs that can help you refine any game you're thinking about!- 209 replies

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Metacognition replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Night 1: Ghosts Maill couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of deja vu as he finished locking up his store for the night. As the mists started creeping out, he shivered. He felt as if someone had just walked over his grave. He made his way through the town, passing through the town square, where Rent had staked off a section and was trying to charge people for walking through it. Clancy was there as well, finishing up another story. He couldn’t place it, but he didn’t really trust the storyteller, even though he had never really met him before. Wilson was scurrying about, a stack of letters in hand as she went about her business and the fires from Edgar’s forge glowed as he and Wyra worked through the fading daylight. Everything was exactly as it had always been in Tyrian Falls and yet he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had been here before. He made his way to Dyri- no, that wasn’t right. It was Satrams’ and it was a tavern, not an inn. So why did he think of it that way? And why did he keep expecting someone to barrel through the door with a handful of papers that would contain a bunch of lists? He shook his head and headed to the bar for a drink. It had to be due to the news of the approaching Koloss. That alone would be more than enough to upset anyone. The reports were saying that it was a small band and Teys, captain of the city’s watch, felt that they should be able to hold out against them. So why didn’t Maill feel safe? As he was pondering over his dilemma, a loud crack came from outside, followed by the sound of exploding timber. Everyone looked around surprised for a moment before running for the door. When he finally got outside, it wasn’t difficult to tell what had happened. The barracks were now a huge bonfire and the roof had just given in. People were rushing around, trying to form a water brigade and he heard someone shout that the Watch were still inside the burning building, but Maill couldn’t move. It’s amazing how, in a crisis situation, the mind finds the time to focus on the little details. Like the fact that the door to the barracks and all the windows had been boarded shut. Or how the rope to the well had been cut. Or those figures slipping away from the burning building and into the mists, running away from the fire rather than helping. Just like that, the sinking feeling of dread Maill had been having had a name and now he knew that driving off the Koloss wasn’t going to be as easy as predicted. As the last figure disappeared into the night, Maill whispered once word, “Saboteurs.” ___________________________________________ Night 1 begins now! This is a little earlier than I would typically like for my schedule, so this night will be 27 hours long, rather than the typical 24, but I was incredibly eager to get started! There’s a player list in the OP and I will update it as the game continues. I’ll be sending out roles now and if you have a power you would like to use this night, just respond in the PM that I sent you with your role. If you do not receive a PM from me, please let me know! There is indeed a Tineye, so PMs are allowed. I think that covers everything! Good Luck everyone and let the chaos begin! -

I would prefer being included, yes, BUT I can tell you all that this is not for any nefarious purpose. There is no UberTin or anything like that in this game. It really is just so I can help take care of any infractions that would be against the rules. That was the second game anyways! Wow! So many new faces and so many faces we haven't seen in a while! This game is going to be crazy, I can tell already! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has already signed up. We only have a few more days left before the chaos begins! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm looking forward to it! -

Guys, I was capable of handling almost 30 players while running UberTin. Don't worry, we're not going to hit a cap. Having more players just means that I can have even more fun with the roles! I might actually run two Mistborn and I'm capable of having enough leeway that I can (hopefully) keep you all guessing as to the distribution for the roles too. -

Metacognition replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't know Ruin's mind. Depends on if he thinks they can still be useful to him afterwards. Fair warning though, there was a Mistborn amongst the surviving Spiked last time and he still killed them! I wouldn't get my hopes up. Since they only have Pewter for that cycle, yes, each time they draw it, they get the extra life from it. It is unlikely that they will draw it twice so soon though. The way that I go about determining what power the Mistborn has is that I roll a ten sided die. If it comes up as 9, 10, or if they already received that power once already, I reroll and take the next result, even if they already had that power. This way, early on, they're likely to receive a different power each time. I can't say I'm not tempted to give you Tineye again, Hero, just so we can get more of your amazing messages, but I'll be fair about it. You have the same chance as everyone else of getting Tineye! Also, Clancy's back! That means every should probably start highlighting for hidden text again! -
Quick Fix Game 5: The Hunger Games!
Metacognition replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
My list right after the Cornucopia? Yeah, that was entirely accurate. I looked at how many people had already claimed and how many people that were unwilling to claim and I just said, "Nope!" That, plus the fact that there was a decent chance of not even getting a game winning item, I was more than willing to let most of you kill each other over them! After all, you had already made yourself a target, Newan. I wasn't about discourage it. That just told me who to go after in the next round! The problem was, IMO, that we didn't really have a reason to work together. Everyone was capable of just staying within their PM alliances and calling it good. Speaking of which, Dom, you really do deserve this win! I won't say I was fooled (I was skeptical, but I trusted you all the same), but you definitely bought yourself time and I would've loved to see what you came up with for how things turned out if I hadn't died. Very well played and I look forward to facing off against you in some time in the future! Either way, you did an amazing job on us, Dom. May your reign be sweet and short, as I don't think anyone here will trust you again! Sorry, that's just the way these things go. You proved yourself a threat and now you'll be a target. Just like Wilson and Aonar and Joe and many more before you! Can't wait to see how you handle it. May the odds be ever in your favor!- 209 replies

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Metacognition replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Just want to say, I'm impressed with the amount of crazy people within this town so far. They should maybe build a place to keep them all... an asylum of sorts. Of course, if the Koloss get here first, it won't matter. Are the Koloss here for the precious minerals or to stop the spread of insanity? Only time will tell! -

The Rioter doesn't have to vote to use their ability, but they can't switch someone who hasn't voted to a vote. Your target has to be emotionally involved enough to be affected by the Rioter in the first place. That's basically it. I will try to be very careful not to reveal anything within the write ups as is, but, as an example, if I wind up writing a scene that involves a lot of acrobatics and strength, that doesn't mean that you can rule out the geriatric members of the game! I just wanted to clarify that, since it seems that people tend to try to find more hidden within the write up than just a fun way of conveying the information that so and so was killed. That and there might be a game sometime in which I actually will give hints in the write ups! -

Metacognition replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I suggest reading the General Rules to get a feel for how everything works. Also, check out the Etiquette thread as well! Other than that, you just have to come up with a character that will be your avatar for the game. You pick a name (preferably something somewhat similar to your username, so everyone will know who's who a bit easier) and your character's occupation within the town. That's basically it! After that, you wait until the game starts, maybe do a little RP with your character and all that and then try not to die while also trying to figure out who the Spiked are! Good to have you with us! I hope you have as much fun with this as I do! -

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Metacognition posted a topic in Sanderson Elimination
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the forum. There were exasperated sighs and feelings of boredom! They hit the refresh button for what felt like the thousandth time, They were looking for something entertaining, something sublime! When to what should their wandering eyes should appear, But a game about treachery, death, mayhem, and fear! Huzzah! They exclaimed as their blood lust started rising. They clicked on it quickly, their characters they started devising. It was a Christmas miracle, this game showing up on the site. So Merry Christmas to all and to all a good fight! It's been almost a full year since I started the first game of Sanderson Elimination here on the 17th Shard and what a year it has been! 19 games already and so many new formats and new roles and new systems! You guys have truly made this unique from any other variation of Mafia/Werewolves out there! On top of that, for a game that encourages lies, manipulation, deceit and not just a little bit of blood lust, for the most part, you've all been very cordial and respectful towards each other. You are all truly gentleman killers! I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of these games and for all the enjoyment I've gotten out of running and playing these games beside you. These games wouldn't exist without all of you and you're all amazing in my book! So, in light of it being our first year together, I thought it would be fun and interesting to go back to our very first game together and see how much has changed since then! To show how far everyone has come since those early, naive days. So here's to one full year of Sanderson Elimination! I hope you've all had as much fun as I have and here's to many more years to come! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh no! Koloss have begun advancing on your little town, Tyrian Falls! Since The Lord Ruler died, they seem to be acting with a mind of their own. Unfortunately for you, your town is a way point between Fadrex City and Luthadel. That means you have a stockpile of metals, but that's probably why they targeted you in the first place. On the other hand, you have a large collection of metals! You might be able to hold them off, but it seems like someone (or a conspiracy of someones) seems to be undermining your defenses. Somehow, before the Koloss arrive, you have to rid your town of these dissenters; those that are spiked. Until then, you won't be able to mount an effective defense for your town. If you fail, everyone dies, so you better not fail! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some people within the town have been hiding a few secrets; some of them are Mistings, so you have help in your battle versus the forces of Ruin. Although some of them may be spiked. Why can't anything be easy? THUG: They can survive a single attack. If they are killed during a night or day cycle, they survive and this will be revealed in the write up. If they are attacked again, they die; finally. TINEYE: They are messengers and are capable of writing messages to the town while remaining anonymous. Each night, they can send a message to the Game Master. He will then post it within the write up at the end of the night. As long as the Tineye is alive, players can send Private Messages back and forth. Once he dies, he can no longer deliver messages, so no more PMs. SMOKER: The Smoker is undetectable and he can extend this power to one other person each night. If scanned by a Seeker, the smoker or the person encompassed within his coppercloud will show up as nothing. Alternatively, the Smoker can turn his coppercloud off. This would allow them to be scanned. In addition to being undetectable by the Seeker, the Smoker and his target are unaffected by emotional Allomancy. As long as the Smoker is using their coppercloud, the Soother and Rioter cannot change their votes. SEEKER: The Seeker can sense when someone is burning metals. In fact, he/she has gotten so good that they can tell whether someone is spiked or not! Once per night, the Seeker can target someone to learn their abilities and alignment. COINSHOT: The Coinshot does what they do best. They push metals around; specifically into other people's bodies. Once per night, the Coinshot can target a person for death. Unless otherwise disrupted, that person dies. LURCHER: Where the Coinshot pushes, the Lurcher pulls. Once per night the Lurcher can target someone and that person will be saved from death. SOOTHER: Their ability to dampen emotions puts them and the Rioter in a very special position. During any time during the day round (up until the round ends), they can negate one person's vote. The change will be anonymous, but since I will be posting voting results at the end of each day, those that are observant should be able to tell whose votes were changed. RIOTER: The Rioter works in a similar fashion as the Soother, except once during the day round they can change one person's vote. Using this power does nullify their own vote though. They are still capable of voting, but their vote will not be counted. The change itself will be anonymous, but since I will be posting voting results at the end of each day, those that are observant should be able to tell whose votes were changed. MISTBORN: The Mistborn have the abilities of all of the above, but will only be able to use one per cycle. At the beginning of every night, the Mistborn will be told which ability they have and it's the only ability they have until the next night. REGULAR VILLAGERS: You have no special powers, but you still get a vote every day. Who knows? Perhaps you were meant to be the one to save the town! Not all stories are about the strongest people in a group. SPIKED: Beyond possibly having one of the above roles, you can hear Ruin talking to you. He's told you who else in the town is spiked and together you're to keep the town from mounting a defense before the Koloss arrive. In return, you will be spared. Your goal is to kill one person per night until you outnumber the villagers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've made only the slightest of changes to account for our experience. There are no safe roles and depending on how many people decide to sign up, there might be more than one Mistborn! Everything else has stayed the same. We'll be starting on a Night round (sorry to whomever gets killed before they even really get a chance to play! This is due to the fact that that was how it was before and I think it will give people a chance to establish some RP before the game actually starts (which always helps make the write ups better, IMO). Order of Actions for the Night will be: -Smoker -Seeker -Lurcher -Coinshot/Kills Days will be 48 hours long (ending roughly around 1 AM EST unless this schedule needs to change). Nights will be 24 hours long. No hints will be given in the write ups. Allegiance and Roles will be reveal upon death. That should be about everything! If I missed something that you would like clarified, please, let me know either via PM or here in thread and I'll do my best to answer any questions! Sign ups should last for about a week from now, so we won't actually be starting until after Jan 1st, but soon after. Let the mayhem begin! Quick Fix Game 5: The Hunger Games!
Metacognition replied to Peng the Just's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Melinda slept peacefully, wrapped in her brother's embrace, for the first time since her name had been picked. Sure, they were still in danger and there was a good chance that they were going to die here, but for now, they were together again and she was too drained both physically and emotionally to care. She was back with her brother and that was enough for now. Tomorrow could wait till tomorrow. Unfortunately, life didn't care one bit about what Melinda wanted and she was awoken in the middle of the night when she hear a rustling in the bushes around her. The night was clear and there was a full moon shining through the trees, so when one of the cowolves (hybrid of cow and wolves? Eh?) slid into the clearing towards them, she could see the brutal glint in its eyes. Dam was still fast asleep beside her; he had always been a bit of a heavy sleeper. It made sense when you were surrounded by machinery day in and day out, but out here in the Hunger Games, it was a death sentence. Melinda didn't even try to wake him. For one, he wouldn't have been able to do anything other than die anyways. He was strong, but without a weapon, there was no way he could take out one of the cowolves. But the main reason she didn't wake him was because she couldn't. She was frozen in fear. The cowolf slowly crept towards her. It seemed to know that there was no need to hurry. Their gazes were locked on each other and Melinda couldn't pry her eyes away. Her breaths came faster and faster, but still she couldn't move. She tried to flex her fingers, urged herself to do something, anything at all. If she could move, she could scream and wake Dam up in time for him to run away. She would have saved her brother's life by sacrificing her own. It would be enough. Her right hand uncurled in her pocket and brushed up against something metal. It was the item that Wilson had given her right before the games started. It was a spike; little more than a needle, really. It wasn't big enough to do any real damage. It would be useless against the other tributes. Melinda had tried to figure out why Wilson would give her such a useless item, but nothing came to her, so she had just pocketed it. Now, with the cowolf almost upon her, she slowly pulled it out. The cowolf stopped less than a foot away from Melinda and finally make the first sound since it entered the clearing; it growled at her. Without thinking, Melinda lashed out with the needle as quick as her little arm could move. She felt it hit flesh and she pushed on it, urging it to go in as deep as it could go! The cowolf's growl cut off abruptly and it stumbled back with a whine of pain. Dam jerked awake at the sound, but by then Melinda could see that the needle was embedded deep in the cowolf's eye. It shook its head, as if it was trying to shake away the pain. It had all but forgotten about them as it stumbled off into the night. Melinda sat there, still frozen for another couple of minutes. Her mind was a blur. Had she really just done that?! She was alive? She had saved both her and Dam? How had Wilson known that something like tonight would happen? She was alive? When Dam's hand fell on her shoulder, the entirety of what just happened finally settled on her like a wet blanket and she promptly passed out. _____________________________________________ Well who ever attacked me can verify my claim, but I kind of doubt they're going to step forward. If I had followed the plan, I'd be dead right now, so no, sorry, I don't feel remorse for it. We would've been down another Muttation, sure, but we would've lost another player as well and we lost plenty of them last night as is. As far as my lists, just because they're not pointing to me doesn't mean that it's also not in the best interests of the group. We had a total of 8 deaths (4 Muttations and 4 players) last cycle and another two attempts. If everyone was so on board with killing off the Muttations, we shouldn't have had that many deaths, so I believe that someone (or multiple someones) claimed they were going to kill off Muttations to gain the trust of the group and to hopefully not be targeted themselves while they went ahead and killed indiscriminately. Considering the fact that everyone else on the list has been accounted for, all I did is narrow down the list Eol posted. That's why I asked if any of you wanted to defend yourselves. At least two people on that list actually did what they said they were going to do and if we can narrow it down further, then we can give the bowman a target that actually deserves it at this point rather than just silently massacring. I still wish we had more conversation going on as to what we want to do as a group. This game has been great for RP and I've been enjoying that side of it immensely, but it's not very strategic. Since we're not trying to gain a group consensus like in past games, it's basically just luck on if you survive to the next round or not. I'm not painting myself as anything. I'm trying to stimulate some discussion since there is so little of it going on! You'll see what I mean once I finally do die (likely tonight). We've only had 6 posts today, even though we had 10 people left. That's not getting us anywhere. If people want to go off on a killing spree that doesn't involve the Muttations, fine, be my guest. But let's get rid of those that aren't actually doing anything before we start offing people who are trying to actually get something done? Because, at this rate, the game is going to come down to Salamander and Tekon and since I haven't seen either in here recently, the game is going to end with a lurker winning by doing nothing. EDIT: I actually will be killing a Muttation tonight, so if one of you does want to take me out, here's your shot.- 209 replies

Quick Fix Game 5: The Hunger Games!

I changed my action at the last minute to defend myself and I'm glad I did! I was attacked as well. I think we can infer from how they died that someone used their knives on Newan and the bow was used to kill Marge. Isana and Niobe look like they were attacked by actual tributes. What this tells us is that Isana and Niobe likely did what they said they were going to and attacked the Muttations. If they didn't, then they wouldn't have been open to attack! If Newan or Marge attacked the Muttations wouldn't matter, as the knives and bow attacks happen before the regular attacks. So two of the Muttation deaths are accounted for. That leaves Aaron, Dom, Al, and Tessa to have lied to the rest of us. Do you guys want to defend yourselves here and explain what happened cause two of you aren't being honest with us and since now we'll need to waste more time killing Muttations to get rid of the risk of dying due to randomness, your actions have hurt us all, including any of your teammates.- 209 replies

Quick Fix Game 5: The Hunger Games!

The sun was just a sliver on the horizon and Melinda still hadn't found Dam. Perhaps she had guessed wrong and he had headed for the river? He had worked in the hydropower plant; maybe he went to the river because it was more familiar to him? Would she ever see her brother again? Her only solace was in the fact that he wasn't dead. As long as he wasn't dead, she wouldn't give up hope. The forest was far larger than the little park back home and she quickly became disoriented. How could anyone tell where they were going in all of this? For all she knew, she had been traveling in circles! She never thought she would miss the blinking lights of District 5, but with night approaching and her still alone in this foreign forest, she longed for something familiar. The growing shadows made walking treacherous. She had already fallen multiple times as her feet kept getting caught on roots or stepping in a depression the darkness hid. When she fell for the what felt like the thousandth time, she twisted her ankle and barely kept from crying out. As she lay there, she found it difficult to summon the will to get up and keep moving. She wanted to just roll over and let the tributes or whatever creatures lived in the forest take her. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she pounded on the ground in frustration. Then she heard the crack of a branch nearby and she froze. It was one thing to wish for death, but entirely another to be confronted with it and she felt fear welling up inside of her. Should she remain where she was or flee? Just before she could make her decision, a tiny, blinking light, so dim that she almost thought she imagined it flickered off to her right. It was like those stories of will-o-wisps she had read as a child. The light flickered again and this time, she realized something. What she had initially taken as random blinking was morse code! Her and Dam had learned it so that they could communicate in secret! And, the most amazing part for her, the code was spelling out her nickname, Ohms, over and over again. Dam. He had found her. She bit back a sob of pure joy and relief and struggled to her feet. Awkwardly, she hobbled towards the blinking beacon and towards the comfort of her brother's arms. ___________________________ Not as much discussion going on today yet. I'll either be attacking the Muttations or likely putting in an attack on Salamander, since he hasn't shown up at all and, like I said, I'm worried about the idea of the Muttation attack getting blocked. We'll see which as the deadline gets closer. I do think that we need to discuss things in thread or else what is the point? Sure, we won't be able to tell if anyone is lying, but we should give people a chance to argue for their lives before we just kill them from the shadows. Just a suggestion for after we get the Muttations down, as I won't be surprised at all if I'm not around by then since I'm the one trying to draw people out of their PMs! Edit: Also, from looking over everything, here is my list of who's left and who likely has an item. A plus next to their name means that they never stated one way or the other that they would or would not go after the Cornucopia. A minus sign shows that they probably didn't since they either explicitly stated they wouldn't or are likely no longer playing, as they haven't shown up. If their name is bolded, then they almost definitely have an item! If we assume that the pluses have items, then that leave 3 items not accounted for amongst the rest. 2 male The only Joe/Joe + 3 male Aonar Faileas/aaron + 4 male Alvron /al 4 female thwelthrootoftwo/ tessa - 5 male Gamma Fiend /dam - 5 female Metacognition /melinda + 6 female Icy Ninja penguin/ ice + 7 Female Ookla the alko/ Isana - 8 male Salamander/ Salamander 9 male Newan /Newan 9 female Eolhondras/ Eolloe - 10 male Tusoud16 /Tekon 10 female a smart guy/ Marge 11 male dominic1994/ Dom 11 female Seonid /Niobe- 209 replies
