  1. Why do I always stick my foot in my mouth whenever I cast my first vote. Seriously, this is like the third time I've been on the chopping block for casting just one vote. Anyways, I don't think Adavantos is that suspicious anymore. He responded to my comment quickly, and greatly contributed to the discussion. In addition, I didn't realize he had been doing those summaries in the last game he was in, so those really can't be considered too suspicious. I'm not discounting the possibility he's evil, but I trust him now. Now lets look at the body count. Venture was attacked by the eliminators because he claimed to be a runner. Limiting PMs is generally a good strategy for Eliminators, but they might have attacked their own member in order to make us trust him. However, I doubt that. Generally speaking, it's not a good idea for game balance to allow the Eliminators to protect themselves from the lynch, as it wastes a day of discussion. Since all healing in this game does that, I doubt the Diagramists would have the resources to pull off that type of move. Therefore, I'm going to trust Venture. Unfortunately, there were also two poisonings. Mailliw loves to create chaos, so it's unsurprising he was attacked. I'm a bit sad about Arraenae though. I believe she was a new player, so it sucks she was killed day one. Ah well, I suppose that's how we welcome people here. I guess it was the Ghostblood's cook that killed her, as she claimed she was a Son of Honor. It's nice that there's only one body to examine this cycle, but that makes it a prime target for an Elsecaller to mess with. Information is at a premium in this game, especially if we can't even trust our scans. In terms of suspicions, I'm going to cast a vote on Bort. He voiced suspicion of Adavantos and Mailliw, but he never shot a vote out at either of them. In addition, he strongly encouraged us to think about this as a faction game, instead of focusing on finding the eliminators. That just serves to create more bloodshed, and only helps the Eliminators.
  2. Edurams was starting to panic. There were too many people here. Any one of them could be part of a secret society. There were secret societies inside of secret societies. Everyone was out to get him. He wasn't safe! He needed... What did he need? He needed facts. He looked over at the man writing down all the discussion. Those facts were wrong! They had to be. After all, when was the last time anyone reported anything right. It was a conspiracy! "That man! He can't be trusted. Who knows what biases he'll put in those! It's a trap! Agrigar (Adavantos) must be evil!" Anyways, welcome to all the new players. I'm voting for Adavantos for 2 reasons. One, he's a dangerous player. I want to see how he reacts to a vote being placed on him. Second, I don't like him summarizing posts. It's a lot of effort, but it doesn't accomplish anything. It allows him to be active without contributing to the contribution. In addition, his summaries will be biased to his side, whether intentionally or not. That's why I don't think this is a good idea.
  3. Mar hated being wrong. His theories had been inaccurate to say the least. Even worse, another man had been slain by the hidden skaa. Although, if he thought about it, their target was fairly obvious. Andierre had defended Marie, so he had been practically verified innocent. In addition, he and Mailliw were both Eliminators in the last Quick Fix. Mar had to take decisive action. He was concerned about the lack of activity, but there was nothing he could do about that. He needed to hear from Joel (The Only Joe) He had been extremely active in the previous discussion, but he had gone into hiding. The skaa were being more troublesome than he imagined, so he needed more opinions to make a decision.
  4. Mar was trying to keep track of the discussion, but it appeared that no candidate had been decided upon. He needed to analyze the votes, in order to get a better understanding of the situation. Vote Count: Orlok (0): Winter Cloud The Only Joe (1): Clanky, Kipper Wyrmhero (0): IrulelikeSTINK IrulelikeSTINK (1): polkinghornbd, The Honey Badger Araris Valerian (2): Kasimir, Clanky, Sart Alvron (1): Wyrmhero Phattemer (1): TheMightyLopen Clanky (1): Sart, Kasimir Kipper (0): IrulelikeSTINK Creccio (1): Alfa The nobles were clearly disorganized. Mar assumed that the skaa would know who their co-conspirators were. If that was the case, this disunity was clearly to their advantage. Mar was currently voting for Lan, but he was beginning to doubt that claim. If Lan really was a skaa, one of his friends should have tied up the votes by now. Therefore, it was likely that Lan was merely another Noble. Mar scowled, he hated being wrong "Lan, as much as I hate to admit this, I don't think you're guilty. No, the obvious guilty party is Arad Penrod (Araris Valerian)! He voted for Ailyth, who I had been chasing down. While I appreciate his support, I wonder what motivation he had. There were other candidates up for debate, yet he chose the safe option. In addition, he has spoken today, but has failed to vote for his suspicions. I believe he is hesitating because he wants to secure a lynch! Therefore, I must vote for him."
  5. Mar was annoyed. He had finally dragged Ailyth into the discussion, only to find it had become a tangled mess. Most of the discussion was centered around Joel's cockeyed scheme. The Tineye didn't even understand basic allomancy. How was he even Inquisitorial material? Perhaps, it was because he was actually a skaa. It would explain his stupidity, but his downtrodden expression appeared genuine. What they needed was more information. The skaa had killed a Rioter, but it appeared as though the kill was random. The general consensus was that Milon was someone to be feared, and so he had been struck down preemptively. It made sense, though it would imply familiarity with his reputation. That line of inquiry was pointless. With the exception of a few mysterious outliers, most of the trainees gathered were familiar with him. An interesting point had been brought up in the discussion though. The skaa would be too cowardly to participate in the voting. While one or two of them would most likely be trying to guide the group, the remainder would be trying to lay low, waiting for the right time to strike. However, they would not want to be completely absent from discussion. If their co-conspirator was in danger, or if a juicy target was to be lynched, they would jump at the opportunity. One person in particular had stood out to him: Lan (Clanky). First and foremost, he had dared to put a vote on Mar. He should know better. Secondly, he tried to analyze Milon's kill, throwing suspicion at nearly everyone. Mar had expected the skaa to do something like that. He firmly believed they would attack several active players verbally, and then lynch whichever one the trainees became suspicious of. In addition, he was a stark detractor of Joe's plan. He was constantly arguing against it, even when he did not know the details of the plan. That seemed like something a skaa would do. "Lan, it's time to have a reckoning. I name you as skaa. What do you have to say for yourself?"
  6. Seriously? Look there's no way I can actually force someone to participate. The purpose of a poke-vote is to encourage a person to post to the thread. Since I can't be on here 24-7, and I noticed that Meandbooks was in a timezone different than mine, I voted for him. I've seen that he's been visiting the forum, so there is no reason for him to be so quiet. I want to make sure that he's paying attention to the thread, and the easiest way for him to show that is by posting. Considering that he has been spotted on the forums, I'm tempted to keep my vote on him. I don't understand your reasoning.
  7. Well, so much for the plan. It would have worked to a lesser extent, if Joe could actually burn Gold instead of Tin. That way, if an Eliminator had targeted him, he would have learned what metal they had. That's what I thought the plan was actually going to turn out to be. However, it looks like that was not the case. It still prompted some interesting discussion, but I'm not sure what I can glean from it. Also, it appears Meandbooks has been on 17thshard, but has not posted to the thread. Get on that! I promise we don't bite.
  8. A difference in time-zones is the main reason for a poke-vote. I can't be in this game 24-7, so I have no way of knowing if they looked at the thread when I wasn't around. I have no way of knowing if they actually care about this game. A poke-vote strongly encourages them to post to the thread, which is concrete evidence that they are paying attention. It's not about the Contribution Crusade. I'm trying to invite new members into the community. We have a stable group of regulars, but I want to see our section of the forum continue to grow. A new book just came out, so it makes sense that we're getting more activity. I just want to make sure that activity lasts. If that means voting for them, then I'll do it.
  9. I just changed it after the last quick fix. One of my eliminator teammates got confused by my nickname, and advocated voting for "a smart guy" since he didn't realize we were on the same team. I decided to change it after that. Plus, my old nickname was kind of presumptuous. Anyways, you're misunderstanding the purpose of the vote. I just want the new players to read the thread. I hate it when we have a player come back on Day 5 and ask, "What did I miss?" If we have the new players posting Day 1, we can be reasonably sure they will be active, and in the future they might have some insight. It's in the village's best interest for everyone to be active, especially because of the limited uses of metal. I don't expect us to get much accomplished today, so I just want to make sure every player has seen this thread. Yes, it doesn't help the village right now, but it can definitely help in the long run.
  10. "Hmm..." Mar loved a good mystery. A skaa hiding among the Steel Inquisition was fascinating. What did they hope to gain from it? They couldn't succeed versus the might of the Inquisition. Still, the hunt was always fun. It was almost as fun as the punishment. Not quite as fun as the pain, but almost. He couldn't wait to hear their screams. Stupid skaa. It would be easy for him to find them. The obvious suspects were people he hadn't recognized. If they were still hiding, well, it wouldn't end well for them. He did love the smell of blood in the morning. He stood up from examining the body. "Right then, Ailyth, where have you been hiding? I want to see your pretty face again." He grinned lecherously, and hobbled away. We have a lot of new players this game, which is awesome. However, I want to make sure all of you contribute to this game. Just post to this thread with some roleplay or discussion and I'll take my vote off of you. Remember, you're about a fourth of the village, so we need your help.
  11. Don't use that as a reason; it's known as the gambler's falacy. For instance, I was an Eliminator 4 times in a row. That seems unlikely, but there was nothing preventing me from being an Eliminator each time. It's like when you roll a pair of dice, and roll sevens 3 times. There's no reason why the dice won't land on seven again, but there's no reason to think that they would either. It's purely random.
  12. Let me get this timeline straight. Day 2?: Wilson is targeted by Clanky. I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by "the cycle before Wilson died," but I'll assume that's what you meant. Night 3: Wilson dies before she can tell anyone if she was uncorrupted or not. Day 3: Clanky implies to Hero that he is the Artifabrian, and that he is targeting Hero. Hero states that he doesn't have a useful role. Night 4: Hero presumably gets a message saying he was uncorrupted. Day 4: Hero tells Clanky that he was uncorrupted last night. Clanky checks to see if he is corrupted or not. Night 5: Clanky finds out he was corrupted. It's not exactly a slam dunk... The issue in question here is when Clanky was corrupted. Clanky believes that he was corrupted on Day 3, and that Hero is lying about being corrupted. Unfortunately, there's the possibility that Clanky was corrupted on Day 4. Furthermore, if the eliminators did learn of Clanky's role, wouldn't they have just killed him instead? I don't think this is an Eliminator ploy, but on its own, it's not enough to convince me of Hero's guilt. However, his posts have made me suspicious of him, so I guess I'll keep my vote on him. I don't know if I'll keep it there. I'd like to see what Hero has to say about this first. Edit: I got ninja'd by Hero after I typed this up. He basically re-stated my concerns. Great...
  13. Hmmm... well, I have expressed doubt of Hero in the past. I'm guessing that the Ardent is leading this lynch mob. We should gain valuable knowledge if Hero is lynched. Namely, if the Ardent hasn't been corrupted. At this point in the game, that is a real concern. If Hero is guilty, we have some obvious suspects. If he isn't guilty, it's more than likely that some Eliminators jumped on the train. Also, some of you suspect me because I retracted my vote off of him. I only did that because I thought he was genuinely mistaken. I doubted that an Eliminator would make that kind of mistake about who people were suspicious of. However, it is also like an Eliminator to push a lynch forward, which is what Hero has been doing this game.
  14. Alright, since we now have an extension, I should probably make a vote count of the last 24 hours. Hero (0): Seonid, Sart Sart(0): Hero Alvom (1): Araris, Lopen Bort (1): Sart Araris (2): Adamir, Seonid Hmm... I should hopefully have time to analyze this tomorrow. I know it's the weekend, so people are busy, but please respond to the thread if you get the chance.
  15. I'm going to retract my vote on Hero. I cannot in good conscience lynch someone who merely made an error based off of pronouns. That being said, we should now find a new lynch candidate. Considering we only have 5 votes this cycle (Yikes!), I'd like to hear from someone who hasn't been active for a while. Bort, what do you have to say about our lynch prospects.
  16. Hero. I'm going to be honest with you, my vote on you last cycle was pretty retaliatory. I didn't understand why you would vote for me, mostly because I had voted for an eliminator. I could understand Wilson suspecting me. She had revealed her role to someone she had no idea if she could trust. That I could understand. I was hesitant on her trusting you. It didn't make sense that she would trust someone who was going after inactives, but maybe she trusted you based on her knowledge of you from past games. I was willing to call off the lynch brigade, and have us search for someone else. But you lied. Quick question. Where did I go after Kipper? I never mentioned him in any of my posts. Heck, if I had known that we had an Assassin with freaking Shardplate, I would have virulently supported my follow the Assassin plan. I only backed down because of Wilson's implication of her role. I never said Kipper was evil. I never even brought up that possibility. Therefore, you must be claiming that I secretly PM'ed Wilson my suspicion of Kipper. Except that never happened. She PM'ed me Day 1 about my plan, saying that a guardsman would be in danger. I responded on Day 2 by saying I dropped my plan because of her. I also remarked how people were discussing plans for verifying people during the day, even though I had suggested a nearly fool-proof plan yesterday. I also sent her a code from Kipper. She replied, still in Day 2, that people can only form PMs during the day, and thanked me for the code. That is the entirety of my communication with her. Where in that do I express guilt that I went after Kipper? I literally only messaged her one time! Of course, you can claim I'm lying. Before today's post, I thought that Wilson had become biased against me because she revealed her role very early in the game to me. But now you're claiming that she thought I went after Kipper. It doesn't seem likely that she could make that kind of mistake. It's not like her to get facts like that wrong. Since you have lied about the reason for Wilson's "suspicion" of me, and since you derailed the Day 1 lynch to go after an inactive, I have no choice but to vote for you. If you are truly a village brightlord, I am truly sorry. But frankly, I can't believe that.
  17. Alright, time to ask why... Sees the derailment of the thread. https://youtu.be/npjOSLCR2hE?t=5m7s Seriously though, why were there only 10 votes? We have 23 players alive in this game. We need them to contribute! If the eliminators are pretending to be inactive, then we have to waste lynches searching for them among people who haven't even voted. If they are being active, they can just suggest we need to look at the inactives. It's loose loose for the village. If you're on, vote, state your opinion, don't just read the thread and leave.
  18. Sart is the name of my first character on these boards, all the way back in LG4. It's kind of become my nickname. One of these days I should really change my username to that. Anyways, why am I getting voted on? Look at the vote tallies from day 1. I tied the votes between Rippleglyff and Honey. Why would an Eliminator put his own teammate in jeopardy? It doesn't make any sense. Furthermore, why is it that the two people who actually threatened to lynch an Eliminator are on the chopping block? The main point of evidence against Raven is this Wilson quote. While it is true that Raven was following the consensus of Ripple and STINK to lynch an inactive, it was only until Hero suggested Phattemer that the lynch train started. I find it extreme odd that Wilson would distrust Raven for wanting to lynch an inactive and yet trust you the most the next day, after you did exactly what she thought was suspicious! I'm sorry, but this doesn't add up. I'm voting for you Hero. I can vaguely follow the logic of Alvom, especially since he is a new player. I just can't understand Wilson's logic in trusting you. Either she's a hypocrite, there were ardent shenanigans involved, or you're lying about her trusting you. Which is it?
  19. I can spoil that mystery for you Alvron. Wilson contacted me about my assassin plan, warning that if a guardsman was a likely target for corruption or kills, the plan would fall apart. I understood what she meant, and stopped talking about the plan in the thread. While I still think the plan was good, it wouldn't work if we couldn't guarantee our guardsman's safety. I didn't tell anyone about her role, especially since that would have painted a bigger target on her back.
