I think my gambit worked too well. Wilson, I was one of the people who attacked you two nights ago. When I realized how much the Spiked had this game in the bag, I decided to take action. I'm a Neutral player, so I don't care who wins. However, I wanted the game to be more fun, and I wanted to give the Evil players a better chance. At first, I was going to attack a Spiked to lower their numbers. There was a problem though. My character is a Pacifist. I'm not allowed to use any kill actions on anyone other than Cognitive Shadows. So, I wasn't planning on doing anything drastic, and was just protecting myself. Then you revealed that you were a Neutral Cognitive Shadow, and I formed a new plan. If I could form a rift between the Neutrals and the Spiked, that would serve to re-balance the game, and create mass chaos in thread. I knew you were still sore about Bard's actions, so an attack would put you on edge. I was hoping that you would still be able to talk in thread, and support my call for a revolution, believing that a Spiked had targeted you. I deliberately tried to awaken the Bloodthirsty Goddess. The worst case scenario, in my mind, was that you would simply die. That wouldn't be ideal, but it could still work as a catalyst. Unfortunately, you were attacked twice and couldn't convey it. My calls for a revolution puttered out and died, since Aman was helping the Independents with their goals. The thread continued to stagnate. I abandoned the revolution, voting on Dowanx to make sure the Children didn't win. I believed that my attacked had failed, thinking you had protected yourself. And now we're here. I've managed to get Wilson and Aman at each others throats. That's what I intended, but I didn't want it to be like this. I wanted to make the game more fun, not make people want to quit the game. Everyone's getting mad at each other, and it's mostly my fault. This wasn't even to satisfy one of my win-cons. I've been poisoned (possibly by the Spiked) so my actions are limited, but I'm confident I can get a partial win. It's up to the thread what they want to do. Bugsy is apparently not the last of God's Own Hate, so we can lynch him, and help put the Children one step closer to victory. We could vote for Aman and try to rebalance the game so it is more fun for both sides. You could even vote for me, since I'm the one who started this whole mess. It's up to you.

Something about this seems odd. How exactly does meeting Stick help Bugsy win? Moreover, what are your goals? Way back on Cycle 1, Stick claimed that he needed to help 3 Independents with their goals. I didn't think much of it at the time, but I'm beginning to suspect it was a fishing exercise. We know Bugsy is claiming to be Lady Sequence, and that was supported by Joe. So, my question is, what character would Lady Sequence need to meet for a win-con, that also has a history of supporting independents? I'm a bit stumped on this one, which is why I think Stick might be another member of God's Own Hate.

This is what I was afraid of. Even if one Child has a Win-con done, or if they're other win-cons are failed, they can decide to end the game. That scares me. It appears Aman does not have this philosophy, which I support. However, we need another lynch target. Let's try to kill Dowanx. He's probably not a Ghostblood, based on his votes, and if he's God's Own Hate, then we know Joe was lying. He might be a Child, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

I disagree with this logic so much. We are literally not lynching an Eliminator due to fears of ending the game too soon. That sounds to me like the Children are winning, not the Independents. The Children have a trust group in the form of the Spiked doc, in addition to all the other villagers. They control the lynch, have at least one Shard on their side, and have only lost a single member. And yet the Independents are winning? Sorry, when I see four Eliminators dead with only one Villager dead, that means the Villagers are winning. But it's not really the village that's winning, the Spiked are the ones truly winning. Once they have their win-cons fulfilled, which given their power level doesn't seem that far off, will they have any reason to hesitate killing Bugsy? We know for a fact that they have a kill role and Scanner in the form of Wonko. Aman says one of his goals failed, but we only have his word for it. They'll also get support from the Children who have a partial win lined up, and they will end this game. They are forcing Independents to bend to their whims. We've already seen them threaten Wilson with losing her goal. I can't stand for this. I am calling on an alliance of Independents, God's Own Hate, Ghostbloods, and non-Spiked Children to stop the threat of the Spiked. They are holding a sword over our heads, and we need to stop them. I am not opposed to the Children winning, but if we want this game to go on, we have to stop the Spiked first. For this reason, I vote for Harmony Himself, Victor (Aman). He's what has been allowing them to communicate, and his massive Investiture Storage (Over 200!) makes him a sizable threat. I urge you to overthrow your Spiked overlords. So that all of us have a fair shot at winning. Viva la Revolution, and let the game go on!

That seems odd to me. It says in the rules that if an Independent completes all of their goals, it will be included in the write-up. Was STINK hoping to accomplish one of his goals in death? And wasn't he also saying that he needed to travel to every world for a goal? It seems odd he would give up his life if he wouldn't win by doing so. We need to consider the possibility that STINK was controlled, or that STINK wasn't neutral.

Victor, if I may, I'm surprised you're not bloodthirsty. We have no way to determine who is among God's Own Hate at present. By lynching people, we could hopefully whittle down their numbers. We know of several people who can analyze dead bodies so it's in our best interest to use the lynch, as not many of us have access to a kill. Furthermore, in the discussion of yesterday, we managed to unearth both a murderer and a poisoner. I find it highly strange that you were merciful to both of them. If your objective truly is to kill God's Own Hate, those people seem like prime targets. Even if we did not have people who could analyze bodies, we can still examine the belongings they drop on the ground. That would easily give us a clue to their identities. Now then, I have a proposition. One of my objectives is to be targeted by actions that inform the target they were "spoken with". I believe this is only for Interviewing and Collaborating on Soul Stamps, unless there are character specific actions that trigger that condition. Due to one of my abilities, all actions of this type automatically fail. However, there is an upside to this. If I am targeted by one of these actions, I learn the alignment of one person who targeted me. Ergo, I am able to verify that people are on my side. I know you only have my word to go on, but I believe this benefits the Children of Adonalsium, by having a semi-trusted group. I would welcome the chance for people to target me. I haven't had much luck on Nalthis, so I'll be traveling to Scadrial if anyone wants to help me.

Maybe also Tarvangian. He was all about his hospital and recording sick people's dying messages. Although if it started on Roshar, that might be a strike against that role. I don't know of anyone who actually started on their home-world.

I think this quote might be relevant to our current discussion. So, yes, players have factions. There is probably a faction of people with a group kill that shares a doc. That is what we normally call a Mafia faction. I'm assuming that most hidden factions want to see them dead. Thus, this game can be thought of a traditional mafia game. However, each faction wants to complete their goal before the other factions. That sounds more like a faction game to me. To make matters worse, all players have additional goals, which will complicate matters further. That means this is really a Free-For-All type game, with some limited co-operation. Furthermore, I believe there are several independents in this game. Otherwise, why would Nyali specify that three neutrals winning ends the game? That implies at least three neutrals. Right now, I think people should be focusing on their faction goal, while every faction is theoretically balanced. Your personal goals are important, but they can theoretically be done later. Honestly, I don't expect anyone to actually win this game. I could see a partial win, but that's about it.

I'm feeling nostalgic, so I'm going to run my Mid-Range game again. I'm going to mix some things up though. Changes are in bold, with explanations in parentheses. Rules: Setting: You are part of a group of Rithmatists, battling wild chalklings in Nebrask. However, it appears some of your battalion actually support the chalklings, and are secretly trying to sabotage the front lines. General Rules: This game has the day and night combined into one cycle. Players will vote on who to lynch in the thread, while sending the GM (me) their special action in PMs. PMs containing only two players are allowed in this game. (The biggest disadvantage last time was no coordination of lines of Warding. This change really helps the village. Of course, PMs must include me, especially since there are roles that mess with them.) Each Cycle will last 48 hours. Defense: Since the camp is on the front-lines, there is always the threat of wild chalklings invading. The power of the chalklings is equal to the number of Forgotten. The camps defense is equal to the number of people making Lines of Warding plus various other bonuses (see below). If the power of the chalklings is greater than the defense of the camp, a random player is converted, and becomes a Forgotten. (This might be overpowered, but I want to emphasize the importance of protecting the camp. Make your lines of Warding!!!) This conversion ignores Lines of Forbiddance. The camp will know when this happens. As a consolation prize, a random person will be given the Sentry specialization. If the camp's defense is equal to, or greater than, the power of the chalklings, nothing happens. The camp will not be told what the total defense was for the camp. Rithmatics: To combat the chalklings, most soldiers (excluding Non-Rithmatists) use Rithmatics. Due to new breakthrough discoveries, normal Rithmatists now have access to Lines of Revocation and Silencing. Each day, you may do one of the following. However, you may not repeat the same action two cycles in a row. Line of Warding: The camp gains one defense for the cycle. Line of Forbiddance: Protect yourself or another player from any actions taken against them. (I wanted this to be a little bit more powerful) Can be broken by Lines of Vigor. Line of Vigor: Break target player's Line of Forbiddance or Warding. You will be told which type line you break, if any. (This ability was way too powerful in the original game. It's a lot less useful now, but it can confirm that a player was telling the truth about lines of Warding) Line of Making: You create a chalkling that will spy on a target player. You will be told what Rithmatic line, if any, that player drew. (Chalklings get a much needed buff) Line of Revocation: Role-block a target player, preventing them from taking an action this cycle. This is blocked by Lines of Warding or Forbiddance. (Giving everyone a kill was way overpowered. This is a bit more balanced, especially since it doesn't destroy Lines of Warding) Line of Silencing: Prevent a player from making PMs next cycle. If you hit a Forgotten with this, they will be unable to talk in their doc for the next cycle as well. Silenced players will be informed that they have been silenced. They can still talk and vote in thread. (This is silly, but might lead to some interesting strategies) Specializations: Due to the new breakthroughs, there are now upgrades to the basic forms of lines. A Rithmatist starts out with one specialization, but they can gain more by listening to the Non-Rithmatist. Sentry: Your Lines of Warding give the camp two defense. (It's a nerf to the original Sentry role, but it fits with the other specializations better) Guardian: Your Lines of Forbiddance protect yourself and another player. (It seemed like the obvious choice) Duelist: Your Lines of Vigor damage the chalkling horde, giving the camp one defense for the cycle. (It makes up for accidentally hitting a Line of Warding) Artist: Your chalklings also tell you what specializations, if any, that player has. (More information is always a good thing, plus it fits with the theme of the original role) Assassin: Your Lines of Revocation kill your target instead of stunning them. (It's the original role) Eavesdropper: Your Lines of Silencing also give you a copy of the PMs that your target was in the cycle you targeted them. (Remember to practice PM safety) Special Roles: Forgotten: You command the wild chalklings, and you win once you outnumber the good-guys. Every night, instead of using Rithmatics, one of you can kill a target player. You have access to a Google Doc to formulate plans, but that access can be hindered by Lines of Silencing. You are immune to the Wild Chalkling Conversion. Non-Rithmatist: You are clearly crazy. You sneaked onto the front-lines without having any powers! However, you have studied Rithmatics extensively, and have learned about the different Specializations. You cannot use Rithmatics. As an action, you can give a Rithmatist an additional specialization. You can only teach each Specialization once. If your action fails, you can still attempt to teach that Specialization on a latter night. (It's the same principle as before, but it gives them more incentive to teach people) Acid-Specialist: The first time the camp's defense fails, you will use up the camp's acid supply to prevent the conversion. You do not have a Specialty if you have this role. This role will only be added if the numbers aren't balanced. (This is just to give the camp a fighting chance if there's a slightly unbalanced number of Forgotten)

So... I'm the last villager? Well that's not good. If I could make a request, can I just sail off into the sunset? I don't want your bloody mess of a town. I'll do just fine as a Pirate.

If we're shortening the turns, then we need to hurry up and vote! For the reasons I posted yesterday, Rae. If it's not you, I would guess the last Jeskeri is Alvron.

Where was it confirmed that the Jeskeri had extra lives? We know that an Acolyte is a Beggar equivalent, but we don't know if they had someone steal an extra life. If I was changed to Practitioner, would that waste an extra life? It seems confusing to me. I know I'm not an Acolyte. Do you really think Aman would list me as his teammate in his list if that was the case? I know you don't have any reason to believe me, but it's the truth. Since I know I'm not Jeskeri, I can see where the last one is hiding. It's Rae. Think about it. She claimed Neutral Beggar early on. That was a half truth, since she was an Acolyte at that time. She was converted to Korathi, which didn't do anything to her alignment. She then claimed to have become a Bodyguard. She also claimed that she protected Aman. That seems highly unlikely to me. We know Eolhondras was a Monk. I think it's likely that he protected Aman that night, and gave Rae a nice cover. We've almost won this game, so I really want to survive. I know you'll probably lynch her after I'm dead, so I won't be too mad.

Roles Remaining: Lopen: ChayShan Rae: Beggar => Bodyguard Bard: Neutral Role Scanner Stink: Mad Prince Elenion: Duke Alvron: Miller (Lost Life) Aonar: Pirate (STINK indicates Jeskeri) Conquestor: Pirate (Lost Life) Orlok: Legionnaire Sart: Pirate We were doing so well, but the Korathi have thrown a huge monkey wrench into our plans. I am not concerned at all about the Jeskeri at this point. They only have one or two members left. That's probably Aonar, but since we now know Cultists are beggars, I'm betting he has an extra life now. However, I am unclear on the number of Korathi. If they have a conversion every cycle, then we have already lost. If it's a set number of conversions, we're still in trouble. If it's converting on even cycles, we still have three other Korathi to deal with. That's the best case scenario. We also have neutral roles as well, further complicating the voting process. There's only one thing we can do. We need to lynch the Patriarch. If we can get rid of any conversions they still have left, we might have a slim chance of actually winning this thing. So, we just need the Patriarch dead. We can assume that the Patriarch does not have any special powers, other than perhaps an extra life. We know Lopen, Rae, Stink, and Elenion all have powers that have been confirmed. Aman claims Orlok arrested him Night One. Aman wouldn't lie about that if Orlok wasn't on his team. Ergo, Orlok is either a Legionnaire or Jeskeri. I know that I am innocent. That whittles it down to four players. It comes down to whether we believe the Patriarch has an extra life. In a game with this many enemies, for the sake of game balance, I believe he does not. Therefore, I do not believe Alvron or Conquestor is the Patriarch. Since STINK has indicated Aonar is Jeskeri, he is most likely not the Practitioner. STINK could have been converted, but it would be a waste for the Practitioner, so I doubt it. Thus, I hesitantly believe STINK is telling the truth. Therefore, there is only one suspect left. Bard is the Patriarch. He used his mole in the Jeskeri organization, Eol, as well as his team's networks of PMs, in order to fake being a role scanner. He's been trying to hide on the sidelines, when he was directing the game from the shadows. So Bard, who's your daddy now?

I'm also very skeptical of the claim that Cultists have two lives. That was never confirmed by the GM, and if I recall correctly, Aman was the one who suggested it in the first place. Also, I'm not a Cultist. I don't believe Aman's story about a conversion role either, but I can't dismiss it. We're doing a lot better, but we need to keep going.

Lopen, I should be headed off to bed, but I just want to let you know, if Aman's Jeskeri, Orlok is nowhere near confirmed. The only evidence we have he's a Legionnaire is that he jailed Aman night one. After that, he's apparently been jailing himself. If your hunch is right, then Orlok's claim falls apart at the seams.

Alright then. That's helped to clarify matters some. I can't find the quote, but I know Aman claimed that he had been contacted by the second Chay-Shan practitioner. We also know... The Miller is Alvron according to Aman's most recent post. The Young Bard is apparently not the second Chay-Shan, so that would fit him into a Neutral role. Since his role has been proven to Lopen, I'm guessing he is the role scanner. STINK or Aman, what was Burnt claiming? If I had to guess, I'm betting she was claiming Chay-Shan, meaning that there never was a third one. That leaves Eolhondras as the neutral role that Aman trusts absolutely. Mind if I ask why? Aman, why do you trust a neutral so completely? Eolhondras, what exactly is your win condition? I need answers.

Role List: Alvron: Retired Pirate Amanuensis: Dula Aonar: Beggar => Bodyguard Arraenae: Beggar => Bodyguard Conquestor: Retired Pirate Elenion: Duke Eolhondras: Unclaimed Lopen: Chay-Shan Orlok: Legionnaire Sart: Sarrrrr! Stink: Mad Prince The Young Bard: Unclaimed So, we definitely made great progress last night. However, we still need to kill the Acolyte(s). Eolhondras and The Young Bard haven't revealed their role to the thread. One of them is the second Chay-Shan, which means they've killed an Eliminator. I'm still guessing that's Bard, but I would like confirmation on that. That would leave Eolhondras as the last player whose role is not known. It seems like a good place for the team to hide. I'm also suspicious of Aonar. Both he and Rae are claiming Beggar turned Bodyguard, which strikes me as a little odd. I know Rae is mostly confirmed by healing Aman, but I don't know of any such evidence for Aonar.

Honestly, that post makes it sound like Kipper wanted to be lynched. Perhaps I'm just feeling suicidal, but we might be able to kill him at night without any consequences.

Unless something weird happened, no, he can't be. He was attacked on the same night as a Philosopher kill. Unless anyone wants to own up to protecting him, he's unfortunately in the clear.

So now the vote is tied. It would be okay if both players died, since at this point, one of them has to be lying. However, I'm worried about the second Noble vote. Some people believe that a Jeskeri is controlling it, which would be problematic. Still, I'm interested to see what happens.
