  1. I'm also curious about that priest! He's... well, I don't know. For a split second, I wanted Siri to trust him. But he seemed so... so intent in killing her... I don´t know. And the emperor... If that many time has passed, I'm starting to think he's not only a figurehead, he's a very stupid figurehead, too. And... Now that I think about it... this is not Warbreaker... what do you think is the Emperor's Kkell power?
  2. I don't think he is up to no good. I think he is going to become someone. Someone important. I've improved, if only a very little, in guessing what's going to happen in Brandon's books. Renarin... yes, he is overlooked. And we definitely have a very good set of reasons for NOT overlooking anyone Brandon wants us to overlook. But I don't think he is the "bad-type". If there have EVER been "bad-types" in the Cosmere (and that makes me think... if nobody in Brandon's worlds is black or white... what about Rayse?). In fact, it could be that Wit pests him to make him use that "less-fragility" he has beern withholding". Weak people often use their weakness as a kind of defense. Make yourself nothing of a threat, and nobody will care about you. But that can also make you not develop your talents. In fact, if nobody sees him as a threat, and certainly not as a warior, but he keeps being a man, he could make a formidable spy. For example, if he could read as a woman. I wouldn't be surprised about that. In fact... if he knows that much about fabrials... maybe even he would make sure, himself, that his sickness would not be healed. I lack proof of this, and I could be saying nonsense. But when I start babbling... well, a lot of possibilities come to mind.
  3. Congrats! I would like to announce that I'm on holiday until January! I only have to do a project on Bioethics... and some investigation thing about anatomical anomalies... and some research about protein quality control in the ER... and study for a couple of exams... ... but hey, it's Christmas, right?
  4. Cool! Thanks, Chaos! Now we get to know how to be more popular so we can attempt a coup-d'état someday!
  5. Good luck! See you when you come back!
  6. Please, please, please, I want this one... *puppy eyes*
  7. I also expected Jasnah instead of Navani. But maybe we know too little about Navani, it'll be better to focus on her. I'm eager to see more about Kaladin, though, I love that character. And I'd also like to see how Dalinar's second son develops.
  8. Yay! Chaos said I'm right! *gives herself a slap in the back*
  9. You can also ask if there is something that rings a bell but don understand completely and we'll do our best to explain it to you. And I have a thing with anything by Feynman. He was one of the best Physics teachers there has been.
  10. You have to post here: http://www.17thshard...ay-giveaway-r69 Not in the topic Chaos made.
  11. Then we won't be able tio tell who is who.
  12. This makes me think... Why would Ruin's body manifest in a way that can be used by Allomancers if Allomancy is of Preservation? That and... well, anyone can burn Lerasium, right? Or is it that you just "eat" it, not "burn" it? Because it's the key for Allomantic powers. And, then, it depends on your DNA if you can burn one metal or every one of them... and one of them is Atium. But that would be giving Preservation's tools a way to end with Ruin's physical manifestation... whilst it would seem like more logical if Preservation couldn't affect Ruin directly through allomancy. So why can Atium be allomantically used in the first place?
  13. I think there is, indeed, some kind of instinct to it. It's like snapping. I mean, when a person snaps, it's because he has been through a life-threatening experience, and it's the body's instictive reaction. Just the same way a normal body would produce adrenaline, it answers by trying to burn allomantic metals. The body already "knows" how to do it, it's only necessary for it to have the needed compounds. Allomancy is hereditary, just as our DNA has coded a series of processes that will lead to producing adrenaline, and only has to start the reaction. Now, before doing it for the first time, you learn how to do it at will. So you "give" the order for burning X metal, and the body makes do if the metal it has is not the same, but a similar alloy. Because you "know" you can do it, and thus force the body. The same way that things happen if you overexert yourself. Biological reasons notwithstanding, it is obvious that Luthadel's water has allomantically-useful metals on it, of Vin wouldn't have been able to ever "burn" anything, because she would not have anything to burn. And it's not like if she had been a lesser-powered mistborn, she was more like a soother, so it must be that there's good brass in Luthadel's water.
  14. Late... as always. Happy birthday, Peter! Good, I'm doing the nick-change thingy too. I just arrived and saw everyone's nicks and was like "0_o"?
  15. Good. Because somehow I don't think getting Brandon writing what's left, even in a short story, is an option... Now I can see why Brandon and you say it's bad. But, to be honest, I've read far worse books. And I'm hooked twith the story anyway, even if it could do some improving. I like Devin. Even if he becomes uber all of a sudden. But I'm more interested in his 'human' friend. And pity Prince Kkeris had to die. T_T I want another chapter.
  16. We all love you, Kaladin! *hugs* *goes to, effectively, tear Brandon's answers to pieces*
  17. Hell, make it. I have a lot of friends who are nuts with that show. I've never seen it (I have some toys from when I was a little girl, though), but this is a sub-forum to talk about anything Entertainment, right? If you can make a thread about any other TV show, why not?
  18. If you get to ask him anything, remember to write the answers... ... and make a photo oh his phace as he does so. Better yet, his whole body. Or even better, use a videocamera. He could he hiding something, and we'll want to analyize it later. We mere mortals who won't (and have never had) the opportunity of meeting Brandon in person) want to know every detail. ... a little envious, here XD. Have a nice time!
  19. Oh, hell, now that explains why I started getting strange spam in that e-mail account in the first place. I never used that account beside a couple of posts, so I had forgotten about it. This is annoying.
  20. I've never had a lucid dream. The closest dream I've had iot that, when things go horrible bad in a dream, I never realize it is a dream, whilst in reality, I always wish it were a dream and I could wake somehow. ... well, once, I was dreaming and all was like hell, and then I reallized I was dreaming, and woke. The problem was, I was dreaming inside the dream, so I kept dreaming that the dream stopped, real life started... and of course, everything started to go worse XD.
