  1. I'm no expert, but a few points: -People change over time. Having had romantic feelings for someone in the past or finding someone in the future doesn't mean you aren't on the aromantic spectrum now. -Being on the aromantic spectrum doesn't necessarily mean you never experience any romantic feelings for anyone. But that you get those feelings less often and or less strongly than alloromantic people. -Aromantic is a label and not a rigid definition, if it helps you to identify as aromantic than great, if it doesn't don't use it -Taking a look at this list might help
  2. I knew there had to be others, and actually one of my best friends has a somewhat similar mindset, well at least close enough to readily understand mine. I think it'd be fair to say I'm grey-aromantic, I don't think I'm fully aromantic. High school sucked a bit, but there were plenty of other reasons for that too and by University I found most people don't ask too often. Most find the "I'm not that interested and I'd have to give up too much time and other commitments" explanation a bit strange but they accept it. (That isn't a full explanation of course, but it is true all the same and it's much easier to say than to go into social anxiety details etc ) I s'pose most of them probably think sooner or later I'll find "the one". It's possible, but I wouldn't count on it. And thankyou, it is nice to know
  3. I know it happens, though I haven't experienced that particular thing myself and I don't know if it is less common for guys. It's completely unacceptable regardless of who it is targeted at. I hadn't actually heard of aromanticism before. (There's just sooooo many terms out there :/) So I spent a while looking it up and reading about it and then I had to spend some time looking up alloromanticism to try to understand that Intellectually I get it (alloromanticism that is), or at least I think I do. But it's a bit difficult for me to understand it emotionally. I also found it interesting, and a little strange, to read posts talking about coming out about being on the aromantic spectrum. I understand it, it's just that I've been aware of, and not shy about, my limited interest in romance for years now and I knew nothing about the term or community until today.
  4. When did you last look? When I checked again a few days back a very reasonable price option was available again.
  5. Heh, instead tis a Firefly reference, it was a birthday present from a friend.
  6. Hmmm, eh what the heck. This is me: I really don't set a lot of stock by appearance (as may be clear). Generally I wear whatever is most comfortable and convenient
  7. I'm not part of MBI but from what I know of it I'd say it varies a bit from campaign to campaign. That said aside from any that have ground to a halt entirely they still move faster than MBI (to my knowledge).
  8. We did have a slump on steelministry, but things are moving at a reasonable pace (for PBP) again now. I'd like to echo Kurk's warning about PBP though, it's very slow at best, sometimes extremely slow. That said, I love it In my experience there tends to be a lot more roleplaying in PBP games, which I really enjoy. Anyway, we're always happy to welcome more people to the site
  9. Hmmm that does sound cool. I'd probably be up for it, but not for some time, I've got another roleplaying game of sorts that I've been working on with Hero that I want to run first.
  10. Looks like they fixed it There's another shipping option "First class international" available that's far more reasonably priced. As in <$20 for small orders. If you put too much in one order the option isn't available though.
  11. Whatever they want you to. You don't want to mess with that.
  12. Did you get that amount from the shipping estimate widget when looking at your cart or the actual cost when you were paying for it? Because I'm getting similar ~$100 estimates from the estimater (for books or apparel) but in the past when I've placed orders for books the total shipping cost has been ~14-16. Around $100 doesn't make any sense to me. Edit: Went through to the actual checkout and saw the same prices there. Edit again: I went to a couple of other American online stores to check postage costs and got around 20-30 so this appears to be specific to Brandon's store. I think there's gotta be some sort of issue or bug going on here.
  13. Not that I've heard of. I don't know if it's a matter of tension on one side, or a tendon/whatever on the other side that stretched/strained or something. At the moment I'm just being careful with it and hopefully it will fix itself like previously, if it gets bad I'll try to get some professional opinions again.
  14. Hint time: Tv show, and not an obscure one.
  15. A couple of years ago, I don't remember exactly when but it happened more than once, there was a period of time where I felt a constant or near constant pressure on the left side of my throat, especially when I yawned or turned my neck at any speed. It was a little scary, and quite annoying but not too big a deal by itself. But sometimes when I yawned or turned too fast something in my neck would pop out of place. I could still breathe with it out of place but there was a LOT more pressure on my throat. Generally swallowing was enough to cause it to pop back into place (fortunately) but doing so was very painful. It's the most terrifying medical condition I have ever had. The thought that it might not go back into place right, or that it might damage something on the way was so frightening that it was very difficult to convince myself to put it back in place and I'd often have difficulty convincing myself to swallow at times when it hadn't happened, but I worried it might have. From what I've been able to gather it is most likely an issue with one of the tendons attached to the hyoid bone which allows it to move to the sides when it shouldn't. There's very little information on it online, mostly reports from frustrated people who have the same issue and have had little to no luck in getting help with it. Most spoke of the doctors and specialists they went to having no idea what it was and telling them not to worry about it. A lot of people also said they had it much worse, with it popping out far more frequently, hurting more and having to physically push it to get it back in. So I guess I got lucky. It faded after a while each time. Anyway, I haven't had the issue for quite some time but a couple of days ago the pressure came back. It hasn't popped out of place so far but I'm scared it will start happening again.
  16. Yeah most giveaways/competitions the first thing to do is check if it's only available in the US/Canada, cos it almost always is. Edit: (for clarity) I'm not complaining, I totally get why it's the case.
  17. no, I haven't actually watched that. Good guess, but no.
  18. A group of criminals and outlaws on the run from the law make a series of major decisions that are ethically sound but of questionable wisdom...for the most part.
  19. Hmm, yeah the link is gone, guess it was a temporary link. The post I linked to is currently 4th down on their facebook page.
  20. Pretty much yeah, often ones they couldn't realistically have completed without God's help
  21. To clarify what I meant: Everybody has some weaknesses, but nobody is weak in everything imo. When I call them "weak" I'm not saying they are weak of character (not necessarily anyway, some like Jonah could be argued to be so). What I am saying is that at the time when they were called they were weak in regards to what they were called to do. For a couple of specific examples: Moses - Called to stand up to Pharaoh, one of the most powerful men in that part of the world, and demand he do something he didn't want to, then to lead his people out of Egypt. You would think that you would want someone young, charismatic and skilled with words and with good relationships with many of the more important Israelites. Moses was none of that. He was 80, he was by his own admission poor with words, he had been away from his people for decades and he was (naturally) afraid and wanted God to send someone else. So he was weak in those regards, but God chose him anyway. David - He became a great King, but he was called as a boy, with no martial training to fight the champion of the philistines. He was strong in faith certainly, but weak as a fighter at the time and God chose him anyway. That is what I was trying to say
  22. Hm. God consistently chose the weak to use to enact his will. I think partially to make it very clear that it was his power and authority, not that of those who serve him, but also to show us that we don't have to be perfect or strong for him to work through us. He provides the strength and we just have to be willing and trust in him. It often isn't easy of course, but we can see in the bible how others that he acted through struggled just the same as us @twi, As others have said, I expect things will improve markedly once you move out and your relationships with your family might improve as well without the tension of living under the same roof.
