Alright then. Aodhan Breacadh, Namer in potentia, and general arcane enthusiast, is signing up. (Hoping for Cealdish commoner to make the name fit (since Cealdish seems to have some similarities to Gaelic) but I'll find a way to make it work if not.)
-
Eh...... I probably shouldn't sign up for this, but after helping to GM it last time I really want to play.... Just checking first, I'm not banned from Naming this time around, yes? (Saw the tag so I'm not sure. )
-
Hey Kip, is there a reason you cared so much about your survival? From what I can tell, you haven't exactly been contributing to the village much, so prioritizing your survival over the information we could gain from your lynch when you're not doing much doesn't really make much sense. (Referring to your vote switch on to Ecth, which would have forced a tie prior to Rand's vote.) Would have commented on this earlier, but I didn't even see it until a few hours after the rollover, and yesterday was a busy night.
-
So.... @PeopleWhoHaven'tDoneThings: You should read the thread and do things. (Vote.)
-
Ugh, Wilson, you're no fun.
-
No I didn't. But just because I shared them with someone who was cleared doesn't mean I shared it with everyone. More than one person has been cleared in this way. Just not big on the whole reading thing, I've afraid. Always found it kinda pointless, since it's not like anyone ever gets the right impression anyways. If I'm forcing myself to be more honest and lest contrarian, in all honesty I've only been slightly more active in PMs than the thread. I have a mere five, only two of which are active, and only three of which have contained useful discussion. On the other hand, PM activity is SOP for me in games with unlimited PMs where I'm good, so maybe that's bad? I don't know. Do as you will. (Another vote!) Yes, yes it would. My disappointment would be legendary, and you would all rue the day you decided not to lynch me. Please carry on.
-
Eh, I found it kinda vague, although I did only skim the RP bit (Too tired to read that many words.) so I figured I might as well, clarify, just in case anyone was confused. Edit: Read the post again, and yep, there it is. Sorry.

Already done, if I'm allowed to do that. No point trying to protect the identity of the player protected, since the only way you'd be confident enough of the Spiked already knowing your role would be to have protected yourself. I have reason to believe Wilson is not evil (although like anything with Wilson, there's always room for error) and for whatever strange reason, I have this gut feeling that that Aonar fellow is a villager as well, so Kipper. Otherwise, not much to say. Well, no, that's not true. Just not much to say here. Yay, I'm going to die! It's been a while since I've been properly lynched. I would join you in the bandwagon, but unfortunately I appear to have already used up my daily quota of coloured text. First point is largely moot, since it applies to a number of players, both Kipper and Wilson included, to a degree. Can't be bothered to address the second point again, already have, more than once. As for the third, it is again ditto'd for Wilson and Kipper, and is therefore irrelevant. But it's not like any of that actually matters, right? Anyways, have fun killing me. (And no offence, but please don't show up to the funeral. I know you'll feel bad and want to pay respects and all, but.... )
-
Nope, sorry. Maybe another time. Or maybe not. Or maybe if you asked more nicely.
-
Have to love it when your name gets brought up and it absolutely kills the discussion. Anyways. Eh. I post when it feels necessary to post something, or when I become a topic of discussion. I don't see a purpose in posting simply for it's own sake. I've been active enough in PMs, as a couple people can likely confirm. There is a reason for my username, and the fact that my original member title was Lurkspren. I did share my suspicions, just not with the thread. Otherwise.... eh. Vote for me if you like, lynch me if you like. I'll be doing my own thing, and once I have something useful to contribute I will.
-
That's how it's been in LGs 1,2,3,7 and several others with a Smoker-type role, and all three of the AGs.

When Copper is active, the effect always applies to the Coppercloud, the only optional part is whether or not, and who else it applies to. And since the Inquisitor dropped Ubercopper, it can be assumed with reasonable certainty the first Copper spike took. Now, it could be possible the Inquisitor made some suboptimal moves to intentionally throw us off, but it seems unlikely, so Wilson's logic stands. (Now, it is possible though I believe for at least some of the people on that list to be the Inquisitor, if not the first Convert, but I haven't gone all the way through the logic there.)
-
Gah. This is a thing isn't it. Okay. I have no idea what's going on, but I'll refresh myself and hopefully get the Winterspell->Eternity thing either finished or otherwise resolved sometime in the next couple days. I also have no idea what's going on in the Dalles.... with Maill gone I need to talk to.... Twi and Kobold about that? Assuming that hasn't already gone on without me?
-
Because you guys have to do some of the work. I mean, come on, you can't expect me to do everything. If I have to: To be honest, I am mildly suspicious of Kipper and.... Randuir? (I think? Need to look over the last day, since I really only skimmed it as it was happening.) for Reasons* but in absence of the ability desire motivation to currently elaborate on said reasons instead of sleep, I don't really feel as if I can vote for either of them, as it won't really generate useful discussion. *Not good ones. But ones that I'll probably explain some time when it isn't 11:00 at night and my back hurts less. I might even place a vote then, too.
-
Unless he knew he wasn't going to be around and put an order in in advance. Which, while perhaps not likely, is possible. (And he could always have been converted.) I am surprised how inactive Meta has been, though. However, at this point I do think it's safe to say there's no way Spartacus can be the Inquisitor though. So while the Crusade is nice and all, can we please lynch a player that gives us actual information this turn?
-
Umm, guys. This is a part of the rules. Whenever someone is Converted, an Unsnapped has a 78% chance of gaining the role the person Converted used to have, with the remaining chance being the odds of gaining a random other misting power. We do not know the new role of the person who Snapped, or the original role of the person who was converted at this point in time, unless you are suggesting you gained Copper from this Jon, which would be at least somewhat suspicious, given that Aman had Copper. Although it does seem there are a number of Copper mistings this game. Likewise, we do not know whether or not whoever was converted has Copper or not, as there is a chance for that to fail.
-
Obviously. I mean, who else could it be? I'm clearly the Inquisitor.. Meh. Two games does not a sample group make. Once upon a time, I was fairly consistently vocal, but that's not really the case anymore. If you went back and read LG28, you might notice that I really wasn't very active. Especially at the beginning. So I'm going to go back to lurking, and continue to do so until I have reason to do otherwise. But go ahead and lynch me if you feel like it. I dare you.
-
First off, shame on anyone who didn't see this coming. Aman offered up a free, uninterrupted kill against a strong player that gives the village minimal information and the Inquisitor a guaranteed convert tonight. While doing otherwise might have cast a little suspicion on Aman, theres no real way to justify it as worth it. Pragmatism FTW. Anyways, have fun. Go and discuss and things so I have more information to base suspcions on.
-
We know what the old ones did. (Ubersteel: Kill. Interesting in that this one was not actually an upgrade from normal steel, and the Inquisitor's only method of killing, as they did not have access to the Spiked kill, IIRC. Ubertin: Read any/all PMs. Ubercopper: Scan as regular villager. Uberpewter: +2 lives. Uberbronze: Seek unhindered by regular copper.) Who knows what Orlok and Stink have cooked up for us, though.
-
Ugh. Since Hero @'d me, I feel like I should contribute thoughts, but ATM my thoughts are mostly "why the storms did I sign up for this." >> Give me a day and a death or two and maybe I'll have more than null motivation to analyze properly. For now though, I'll say I'm largely neutral to a D1 lynch, given the circumstances of this game. A bad one could screw us over, and even a good one is going to give us less info than usual. That being said, without one we'll basically be in the same situation tomorrow, just with one less player. Aside from that, I've got nothing. (If you're looking for an arbitrary D1 lynchee who won't care to much though, I'm a good candidate. )
-
So apparently I'm supposed to play this one. Vana Izenry is one of the many who have been invited to Fadrex, and I'll come up with more than just a name for her later. Maybe.

Feel obligated to link back to my GC game, for consideration, although I don't know if I'll even be able to run it, depending how things go. (TL;DR for people that don't feel like reading the original post: The LG is effectively two small MRs running in sync, with the elim faction in one being the village faction in the other. Mostly fairly standard roles, with a few twists, and some additional mechanics/secrets that make use of the split-game format.) If you want a sense of the story/RP angle, here's a link to the comic. (Warning, it's long. I'd say it's worth reading for it's own sake, but if you just want to get a quick sense of the story, you might want to just read chapter 14, and go back to the beginning if that interests you. )

Figured I'd post an updated version of these rules, now that I've finished them. Although I am theoretically running an LG soonish, with the new restrictions I'm not sure when this is going to be run. Hopefully people find it interesting, though. There are a lot of new mechanics in here. Coyote Stories: Dual-Game Gunnerkrigg Court LG: So, before we get started, this game is going to be a little unusual. This is not a standard Elimination game. This is not a Faction game. This is not a free-for-all. It’s a bit of all three. For this game, there will be two game threads, not one. One for the Court, and one for the Wood. Players can only communicate with or PM players in their respective threads, outside of special circumstances. (PMs are night only.) Likewise, there are two factions, Gunnerkrigg and Gillitie. In the Court thread, Gunnerkrigg is Village, and Gillitie Eliminator, and vice versa in the Wood thread. When one game ends, both do. Turns will be 48 hours long. Because of the nature of this game, and the source material, there are a few additional mechanics. The Test: Each player can, once in the game, choose to die. If they do, they will be resurrected into the other thread, given a random non-unique role and have a 60% chance to switch alignments (ergo, villagers will tend to stay villagers, just in the new thread, and elims will tend to stay elims). Note: players who become elims due to the test will not necessarily be added to the Elim doc. Mediums, and Meetings: In addition to the lynch vote that each thread has, each thread also has a Medium vote, where a player can be given or stripped of the Medium role, with a majority vote from the living players. Mediums may post/PM in both threads, and gain a neutral alignment, unless they are an Eliminator. Additionally, they can appoint a Guardian from their original thread. This Guardian gains either the Dragonslayer, or Protector of the Forest role, depending on their thread, and gains the win-con of ensuring their Medium’s survival. If the Medium loses their role, so does their Guardian. In addition to the powers the Medium had before, the appointed Medium gains the ability to call a Meeting. During a Meeting, there is only one thread, and all players can take actions on each other, PM each other, and they have a group lynch. The game cannot end during a Meeting. Meetings cannot be held concurrently. Secrets: Given the source material, there are some things you're going to have to discover for yourselves. There are hidden roles and alignments, and while you'll have to take my word for this, they do not bias the game towards any one side. Roles: Forest villagers are guaranteed to have a Forest role, and Court villagers are guaranteed a Court role. Eliminators can have roles of either type. Forest: Hollow Faerie: Hollow Faeries cannot undergo the Test. However, if they are killed, they are automatically resurrected in the other game following standard rules. Regional Faerie: You have a small power over the Ether. While generally speaking you are harmless, you can be annoying. Target a player, any action they take has a 25% chance to fail, or any action taken against them has a 25% chance to fail. Air Elemental: Using your mastery over the air, you can PM one player of your choice during the day. Anwyn/Forest Elf: Although not the most Etherically powerful of Forest dwellers, you come from a strong people, and not many can boast your tolerance for alcohol. During the day, you can slip someone a glass of achewater, and they will pass out and forget to vote. Rogat Orjak: Despite appearances, you are not an dragon, and would much rather not be compared to one of those barbarians, thank you. Your large size allows you to shrug off most attacks, and makes your fellows reluctant to accuse you, even though you’ve assured them multiple times you’re quite nice, really. (Extra life, optional -1 vote at the end of the Day.) Shadowperson: One of the remnants of Coyote’s failed attempt to replicate humanity, you have no particular Etheric talents, but you are sneaky. You can follow a player at night and see what actions they take. Wisp: A masterful illusionist, you can convince anyone of anything. During the day, you can move one player’s vote. Ysengrin: An ancient wolf spirit who is unswervingly loyal to Coyote, you have an enormously powerful etheric presence. (Kill/Protect) Unique. Reynard: An ancient trickster-spirit, your etheric skills revolve around misdirection and illusion. (Redirect/Conceal[<-Coppercloud equivalent, blocks Shadowperson scan and vote manipulation.]) Unique. Protector of the Forest: Gifted enormous power by Coyote to protect your Medium, the very trees have become an extension of your being. In Gillitie Wood, you are all but omnipotent, although you feel your physical body atrophying. Kill, Protect, Roleblock, Redirect, Extra Life. Can use up to two actions each night, however, additional uses count towards atrophy. If they use three actions consecutively, they die. Powers weakened during Meetings (loses the extra action period). Unique. Court: Barrier Mage: You can attempt to protect a player each night. Although you will save them from death, there is a chance they will be injured, unable to place a vote or take actions next cycle. Witch: Each night you may cast a spell attempt to gauge a player’s intentions. (Basically an alignment scanner, albeit with a chance of failure.) Telepath: Each day, you are given the option to PM up to three random active players. Making Everything Boring: Any random effect always lands the way you wish it. Unique. (Note, requires specific targets, and knowledge of the random effects; cannot affect more than two things at once.) Demi Fire Elemental: One kill attempt per cycle; as with Barrier Mage, it cannot fail completely, but it can injure instead. Dragonslayer: Trained and warded to enhance your physical abilities to a superhuman degree, you are the greatest warrior of the Court. Two lives, kill/protect. Unique. Teleport: You can randomly swap two player’s locations, so that actions that would affect one instead affect the other. (Basically, trade actions that would target you for actions targeting a random other player.) Zeta: Officially speaking, you do not have a power. Unofficially speaking, you are very, very scary. 10% chance each Turn for you and a random number of others to be transported to an nightmarish alternate dimension. If this happens, you will all be put in a PM together for the turn, and be unable to speak in-thread. Each player taken has a 20% chance to die, or change alignments. Actions taken while Zeta’s role is in effect can have unpredictable results. Unique. Engineer: You specialize in building robots. You can send a drone to stalk a player, either listening in on their conversations or reporting back their actions. High failure chance. However, you can send this outside the Court. If you do, however, and it fails, the drone will attempt to take root, and you will be executed at the next Meeting. Etheric Scientist: While you have no talent with the Ether yourself, you’ve devoted all your time to studying it. Largely powerless on your own, although you can disrupt or enhance Etheric abilities. (Roleblock or remove failure chance of roles, Engineer excepted.)

I take a different tack from Joe, and my advice would be that if you have trouble keeping track of everything, don't bother trying. I only record votes, claims, and known role/action info. Sometimes I don't even bother with votes. (Unless i have a ton of time, and want to do a network analysis.) However, each turn, or at least each cycle, I make sure record my current thoughts and impressions of the state of the game, optimal strategy, and the alignments of/connections between various players. Then, whenever new evidence is available, I go back, reinterperet and reassess my thought process, looking to see what logic is sound and what is flimsy, trying to interpret plans and actions from as many angles as possible, comparing to see how and why my thoughts have changed over time, and look for inconsistensies. Little if any of this thought process tends to make its way into the thread. (Although parts of it often end up in docs/PMs, as I work best with another player(s) as a sounding board.) I find that the best way to keep track of everything though is to simply keep your thoughts clear and organized. While detailed record keeping helps some people, I find that just being aware of what is going on, and what your thoughts are and why is far more useful. (And don't be afraid to use the forum search or user content functions if you need to dig back for specific info. They're useful. :P)
