  1. And the day is over, folks. I just got home about 45 mins ago, so I need to do some catching up. With Joe not being able to help today this one might take a bit. Please sit tight, while I figure out who you murdered. Night should be up at the regular time, I can't guarantee a write-up, though.
  2. Hmm. I'm not sure if that's quite true, Joe. The wording here is super vague; are the factions all straight limited Converters, limited Conversion killers, or unlimited versions of the above? If it's the first, it might be semi-balanced, although I'd recommend having the convert number be a % of all players, rather than a set number (TBH, 4 is too big for any game with less than 30 players, and even at 30 it's on the large side), and you'd have to be prepared for a really long game, since the only kill is the lynch. If it's the second... yeah. It's very nearly straight up unwinnable for the village. Even with numerous protects and roleblocks, they'd have to use them perfectly to win. Sure, the Elim factions are going to interfere with each other, but all that really means is that your Elim factions are balanced against each other, with the village serving as kingmakers, rather than active participants. The village's main chance of winning would be from the Elims almost exclusively focusing on each other. And if it's one of the third... no. Just no. Unlimited converters can work developed properly with the right countermeasures; (which this game doesn't have), I'm not sure if I've ever seen unlimited conversion killers in an unbroken way.
  3. Note: Removing a Medium requires a majority vote. The minimum number of votes the new Medium would need is 9 in the Court, or 8 in the Forest. Eliminator wincons take precedence over Medium and Guardian wincons.

  5. Night One has ended! Please stop PMing, and wait in patient anticipation until we manage to get the Day up.
  6. "Dawn is about two hours away, Ms. Altea, although it will be another hour until most are up and about. Now let me sleep, rather than bothering me at such an unholy time of day." (You've got 2 hours till night's end, 3 until rollover. Not going to bother with a countdown this late.)
  7. “At first, there was confusion...” “Well, what do we do now?” Walking out of the greeting hall, the new students talked amongst themselves. “Apparently some of us are trying to kill everyone! We just got here, for goodness sake!” “We could leave.” A few heads nodded. “No one would have any reason to kill us, then.” “Leave and what, be animals in the Forest? I don’t want to end up some dumb squirrel.” “What do you suggest, then?” “Maybe, I don’t know, kill the people trying to kill us first?” “...Like I said, we just got here. How are we supposed to know who wants to kill us?” “The Shqueeves guy has been pretty quiet.” “Yeah, where’d he go?” Eventually, after a few minutes of searching, a small voice piped up from the back. “I’m here. I even talked some, but no one heard me...” Shqueeves found hiding in plain sight, they found themselves, again, at a loss. “Is there anything else we can do?” “Yeah!” Small Large spoke up unexpectedly. “Y’all can vote me the official emissary to the Forest!” “Umm… why?” “Because then I could be Medium Small Large! Can’t you see how perfect that’d be? It’s like it was meant to be!” “...Sure, whatever, I guess.” After a moment of puzzlement, everyone roughly seemed to agree. “Great! I’m going to go find that Dragonslayer guy.” “...What exactly do you intend, Master Large?” Sir Young appeared more than somewhat bemused, as Small Large ran up to him in the streets of the Court. “I wish to bridge the gap between the Court and the Forest! So I can be Medium Small Large!” “And why should we allow this?” “Because everyone agrees with me! They all voted for me to be Medium!” “Then I suppose I have no choice. I officially confer upon you the role of Medium, our honoured representative to the Forest. I hope you understand the importance and solemnity of your new calling. Have fun, and try not to get yourself killed, Medium Small Large.” Small Large stood still for several moments, beaming with joy. “...You can return to your lodgings now, Medium Large.” “Aren’t I supposed to appoint of protector for myself?” “Fine, if you want to deal with this now. Do you have someone in mind?” “Umm...” Small Large pondered that, thinking very deeply. “...Noooooo.” Young bowed his head, clearly working to contain his frustration. “Go to bed, Master Large. Bother me in the morning about it, if you must.” “Yes Sir!” Large turned sharply, and made his way back. Stink has been appointed Medium! His Guardian will be announced as soon as he decides. No one was Lynched! You have 22 hours to PM and submit night actions! Tallies: Medium: BR (1): Ecth Stink (8): Stink, Crimsn, Orlok, Burnt, El, Winter, Randuir, Shqueeves Drake (1): Drake Lynch: Shqueeves (1): Ecth
  8. Day's over folks. Give us an hour or two and it should be night time. Have to move some stage props around.
  9. Ties will be decided by a dice roll. (Yes this means that MEB has final say on all ties. :P)
  10. Yes. Someone who Tests specifically to win in the other Faction is a traitor, preferring the possibility of their, and a handful of other players personal wins with the opposing side to their own team's win. (Both literally, and flavour-wise. ) Could. Not would. Although it's not the point of this, there are things you don't know about that reduce the validity of this, beyond the fact that it's gamethrowing and that due to relying on invoking the will of the dice gods (that being what it is ), it's more likely to result in a mass loss, not a mass win.
  11. Yes. Also, I feel compelled to respond to this: I feel the need to make a clarification here, even though I probably shouldn't. The Test is not vulnerable to game-breaking. It's vulnerable to game-throwing. If you want to intentionally lose the game, potentially for yourself and definitely for your faction feel free to exploit the Test. If you want to use it as a strategic tool, go ahead; as you noted above Testing tends to favour the faction being Tested out of. It doesn't always, but will usually result in a slight net-positive. If multiple people Test, however, it begins to strongly favour the other faction, on balance, so, as you said, be careful, and use the advantage you can gain from the Test wisely. Also, realized I forgot to respond to one of Lopen's questions. Yes Zeta's alignment change is not restricted to Court/Gillitie.
  12. It can be done either Day or Night, and always comes dead last in the OoA. They lose their role, and additional wincon. They are still capable of winning with whichever team they started on, though. You didn't miss it in the rules. It has not been made publically known. PAFO.
  13. Responding directly and essentially holding a conversation just split between the threads is... frowned upon. Otherwise, essentially correct. If they feel the need to comment on the proceedings of this thread they can do so. If you wish to comment further on their observations you may, but doing it too much is going to be toeing the line.
  14. Sorry. Should be fixed now, assuming I remebered who all is in my thread. PMs coming ASAP. PMs are finally out. Sorry for the wait.
  15. “Part of our story begins in the Court, as it welcomes the very first group of students...” “Hello, everyone.” An aged but powerfully built man stood at a podium, looking down at the strange assortment of humans and creatures that stood in the hall. “I am Sir Young, Dragonslayer, and one of the Founders of this place. I summoned you here because I wished to welcome you before classes begin. “Although Coyote has rent the Gillitie from our Court, and regular passage between the two is currently difficult, if not impossible, it is our hope that this institution will continue to serve as a place where humans and etheric beings can live in harmony and learn from each other. “Moreover--” “Is that so?” A voice spoke from the back of the crowd, scarcely loud enough for everyone to hear. To the left of Sir Young, a bored-looking man with close-cropped blonde hair suddenly stood at attention, reaching for something concealed beneath his cloak.. “Then what are you doing with the trees?” “They are being cleared to make room for additional lodgings and residential areas. Your lodgings, I might add.” “Is that all? This place that the Seed has created is enormous, and continues to grow despite Coyote’s intervention. It may well be larger than Gillitie Forest already. Surely we can find space for ourselves, somewhere in the expanse?” “...Coyote’s intervention?” There was a faint creak as the blonde man strung a longbow. The crowd shuffled away from the speaker, revealing a tall Anwyn. “Blast, I’m not supposed to know about that, am I? The way the Forest’s magic has begun to rebel against the Seed? Eh, it’s no matter, I suppose. I am not the only one Coyote sent to bring light to your misdeeds.” “What is the point of this? Why are you trying to reignite the conflict between our people? Is that not what Coyote created to gorge to stop?” “It didn’t stop you, did it?” The elf pointed towards the archer, accusing. Young glanced to his left and nodded, almost imperceptibly. “Steadman.” The Anwyn seemed enraged by the lack of response. “We know--” Between one heartbeat and the next, an arrow was drawn, nocked and loosed, as the Archer proved his name. Rik (Yitzi2), has died! He was an Anwyn! Day One has started. You have 48 hours to decide who you want to lynch and who you wish to represent you as Medium. Good luck. (Quick reminder, PMs cannot be sent during the day, unless you’re the Telepath.) Player List: Locke Tekiel (Orlok Tsubodai) Elbe (Elbereth) Budgie (A Budgie) Altea Meza (Crimsn-Wolf) Carrie Brule (Burnt Spaghetti) Clanky (Clanky) Anwir (Drake Marshal) Anansi (Metacognition) John (Winter Devotion) Small Large (Stink) Lyren (Droughtbringer) Shqueeves (Shqueeves) Pickle (asterion) Lopen (TheMightyLopen) Tarek (Randuir) BrightnessRadiant Ecthelion Quick Links:
  16. You can join if you want to though, Aman. Just don't feel compelled to break your retirement. (Also let us know if you want a spec link.)
  17. An LG usually runs about 3-4 weeks; this one is liable to be shorter, given the format; I'd guess about 2-3 weeks.
  18. There is now a countdown timer in the first post, if anyone was wondering when the game would start. (Still plenty of time for people to sign up, if anyone's on the fence. Or slated to die in the QF. )
  19. Lurcher 1 + Tineye 2 seems really OP, especially if Mistings get both powers, not just one. (This wasn't made clear, I'm assuming just one, since two feels broken.) Likewise, Thug 1 + Rioter 2 could be very OP'd with the right village coordination, since the only kill roles are held by non-village players. I do like a lot of the role variations there, but it feels kind of like if the village can get any coordination going at all (Which shouldn't be too hard with Tineye 1+2) it's going to break really, really quickly... Then again, this is one of your games, so there's probably about a dozen secret roles intended to make things balance out...
  20. The only sources of extra lives are Rogat Orjak, Protector, and Dragonslayer. If a Rogat Orjak became Protector or Dragonslayer (ironically ) the lives would stack, yes.
