I don't think it's mold, though honestly I'm not too sure what that would look like. Whenever I turn the bottle upside down, there's little flecks of varying size that cling to the bottle. Here's a picture: I've had the ink for several years now. I love the color, but it's a bit dry so I don't use it as often as I'd like.

So, if I understand correctly, the correct course of action for finding bits in one's ink is to remove said ink from existence, right?

As some of you have noticed, yesterday was my birthday! It was a pretty chill day. All we did was go out to eat at a fancy place up north, then pie at home. It started raining (and has been ever since), which made me very happy.
One of my gifts was the Hoid box, which came as a surprise and may actually be a problem 'cause now I want all of them. The cards and book were expected and much appreciated. (The pen was my doing.)

Well, I allow myself one sniff from the bottle. And then any time I uncap the pen...hey, I never said I was successful. Yep! It's the Coleman model, and there are virtually no photos of it online, but I managed to find one over at The Gentleman Stationer. Esterbrook just released a similar one that looks quite nice. In theory it's great. In practice, there's two more pens in there than there should be, and a couple hanging out in another cup, and a handful I need to clean lying around. Like I said, it's getting time to trim the collection. That could work! If I recall aright, Anthony from UK Fountain Pens built his own storage by lining an old toolbox drawer with felt. That's pretty smart, actually. My only worry with such a solution would be the pens knocking against each other, but hey, if it works it works!

I mean, it's a nice pen, but it's nothing new at the end of the day. Unless you need an easily replaceable beater/EDC pen, you can pass. Especially if you already have a Nakaya! Oh, I love it so much. I can see how it would put some people off, but low-key have to stop myself from huffing it every time I fill a pen. I've got a 10-slot case from Pen Chalet for the Main Pens, and then a pen cup from Nock Co. for the uninked/decommissioned ones. I plan to trim the collection soon, so I'm looking at maybe getting a smaller capacity stand in the future--maybe something like this?

I've got many favorite scriptures (pretty much anything out of Nephi or Alma's mouths), but D&C 122 has a special place in my heart, specifically the last three verses. ETA: Looks like someone already shared this one, whoops. This is why we read threads before commenting... Anyways, I'll find another one to share later.

The House of Blades by Will Wight. I understand there's some decent crossover between Sanderson fans and Wight fans, so nabbed the series when it was on sale. I'm greatly enjoying it so far!

Oh, of course it would the subtitles. I can imagine the headaches that would cause... Sounds interesting. I'll add it to the list! (It's a literal list now, by the way. That spreadsheet I said I should make? Made!)

We've had some back-and-forth over who gets what room. Technically, yes, it is the Relief Society room, but there's few enough of them that we've switched with them a couple of times with no problem--they fit in our classroom just fine, and we can spread out a bit more there. Why churches don't have a dedicated Elders' Quorum room (or similar) is lost on me. My old building did. That was nice. -
Found this playlist on YouTube and have been in love ever since. Even though it's called "trying to bury your past self", to me that's in the sense of "laying to rest", not "in the middle of the woods with a shovel and a burlap sack".
Anyways. The channel has a bunch of these, if you're interested, but imho this is the best one.

So did Rupert! The irony is delicious. I don't know if I'll keep it inked with black. I might try Sailor Blue-Black next--I don't know, I feel like the scent would perfectly match the pen more than anything. (Not in a bad way! Sailor's inks smell like writing to me, and this pen looks like writing.)

I'll have to take your word for it. But it was a beautiful portrayal regardless! (Gives me the same vibe as the Mad Scientists' Club stories--they both have a way of making me nostalgic for a time I wasn't even alive for.) Ghibli have really nailed the slice of life aesthetic--we just watched Whisper of the Heart too, me for the first time, and gosh dang whoever is in charge of designing the backgrounds of these movies is a genius. A bootleg? Were there scenes missing? And, is this a series you recommend?

So! Last week I took delivery of an extra-fine Jinhao X159 after reading Rupert Arzeian's thoughts on it. What convinced me was the size--it's not dissimilar to the Montblanc 149 or Sailor King of Pen (, but that's another discussion entirely), both grail pen I've had my eye on for a while, and I figured $12 ain't a bad idea to see if the size works for me. So far, it's a resounding yes! I originally filled it with Sailor Sky High, but it clashed horribly with the understated look of the pen (which is navy-teal). I've since stuck it with a black ink cartridge, which suits it much better, and it's writing wonderfully!

@Coolmint I love shows like that. I think I need to make a spreadsheet to keep track of all the shows I've been trying to watch. Anyways. I had my eye on Lycoris Recoil when it came out, but never got around to watching it until a coworker recommended it ("Imagine John Wick partnered with Marin Kitagawa" is how he put it). So I watched the first two episodes last night and I enjoyed them quite a lot! Also, I just finished watching From Up on Poppy Hill with my family. Visually perfect, very wholesome, 10/10.

Forgot "1999", "Way to You", and "Elise" by Gareth Emery. Also, literally anything by Blonde Maze. She's got a really chill vibe that I absolutely adore. Associations with chilly weather and longing, perfect for the early hours. Favorite songs are "Not All Flowers Bloom", "This is My Goodbye", and "Leaving Home". Oh, and Porter Robinson. -

I've booted up Minecraft again after like, a year+ of not touching it. And boy, can I just say this game is amazing?
