  1. And then took a bath in the sand.
  2. Or was accurate. If any books have come out between the interview and now, he might be in one of those.
  3. Welcome, have a cookie!
  4. As I've pointed out before in a different thread: Restares' presence with Amaram points to him being of moderate power, but he's also Gavilar's second choice as the person who wants him dead. This doesn't sound like a person of moderate power. The only conclusion I can draw from this is that Amaram is far more important than Kaladin (and possibly Amaram himself) thinks he is.
  5. My question is whether the results of a chance event affect how much luck is needed to affect the flip. Is a coin flip with $10 riding on it "easier" to affect than a coin flip with $10,000 dependent on the outcome? They both have the same probability of happening, but one is definitely considered luckier than the other.
  6. It's not evil, it's just... ruinous.
  7. Our technological development over the past 100 years has been so shaped by the two world wars and the Cold War that I have difficulty imagining the path that Scadrial could take. I mean, the internet was originally developed by the military. Would it not have been developed if there wasn't as much military tension? Who knows?
  8. I've always assumed it was asymptotic. You can always get closer to zero, but you can't reach it. But a charged spike is fundamentally different from an uncharged spike, so even a spike with a minuscule amount of charge will still have certain properties that an uncharged spike doesn't have, even if it doesn't allow you to use the Allomancy or Feruchemy it grants.
  9. An observation: The first time Shallan sees the symbolheads, when she's drawing the picture of Taravangian, she had just refrained from making a quick about his appearance, and instead said something else, which might be considered more truthful (or not, depending). Maybe that's what made the symbolheads appear in her drawing?
  10. Adolin's current girlfriend. I have the feeling she'll have a bigger part to play in the next couple books.
  11. Santa strikes again!
  12. Chapter 11 epigraph Verrrry interesting, when taken with our new information.
  13. The Koloss didn't figure out how to make new spikes - they just reused the old ones from dead Koloss.
  14. I didn't say that they would be writing in a vacuum, I was simply asking if they could, assuming they could survive the vacuum of space (which isn't that far fetched either, but that's besides the point.)
  15. All the epigraphs can be found in the wiki here.
  16. Here's a question: We know that Elantrians can write Aons in the air. Does it necessarily follow that they can write Aons in a vacuum as well?
  17. Yes, but the focus on Nalthis is Commands, not Breaths. An interesting point, though.
  18. Certainly Miles's last rantings reminded me a lot of epigraphs of WoK.
  19. Maybe not, but Brandon has said specifically that FTL will be a part of the third trilogy. Hmm... If Scadrial can develop space travel, I wonder if other worlds can...
  20. You can't begin with book 12. To illustrate, this is part of the character list, copied from Encylopedia WoT. That's the character list for people who's names begin with A. The series is far too long and complex to start from anywhere but the beginning.
  21. But think of the expense!
  22. This would also explain Brandon's comment about 30 magic systems. Each power has two interpretations, plus each order gets one "combination" power. That's 30 "different" powers right there.
  23. There are 10 orders, corresponding with the 10 Essences.
  24. I favor this theory that the boon was saving Renarin's life, at the cost of Dalinar's memory of his wife.
