  1. Thus using Awakening for evil. It's still possible, just harder.
  2. I'm pretty sure that he's said that Harmony is more than just a name, though. I still hold to the molecule theory, that Harmony is a "molecule" composed of the "atoms" of Preservation and Ruin.
  3. I'm pretty sure it's not Honor's "Shardpool" because one of the epigraphs said: I think that the "place nearest to Honor" is Honor's Shardpool. Also, Aona had a shardpool even though he (she?) was Shattered.
  4. Don't forget, the Adventures of Allomancer Jak are about as true as the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I think that the story came from half-remembered legends of Koloss spiking, and has no connection to whether or not spiking new Koloss is still possible. (which it might be, but this story is not proof that it is.)
  5. There could be factors that slowed down their development as well. If they lacked any large metal deposits, I could see that slowing down their development a lot. Maybe not, but it could.
  6. Hmmm... What happens if a Feruchemist stores all of their memories, and then convinces someone to Hemalurgically steal their copper Feruchemy, take all their memories, and then ditch their own memories?
  7. Except that even when the spike doesn't kill a person, it still rips out part of their soul. Hemalurgy requires that you take something from somebody else. If take it by force, I'd consider your use of Hemalurgy evil, but if the power that Hemalurgy steals is freely given with permission, than I wouldn't consider it evil. However, getting permission is probably rather rare. Hemalurgy encourages "evil" usage, which is different from most* of the systems, which don't require anything to be taken from somebody else, but it doesn't require it. *The most similar system would be Awakening, but Breaths can not be taken, they must be given, so that prevents most abuse of the system.
  8. There were two people in a kayak. They were very cold, so they lit a fire. Unfortunately, this was a wooden kayak, and the fire burnt a hole in the kayak, and it sank. And the moral is: You can't have your kayak and heat it too.
  9. Have a cookie!
  10. From the Brandonothology:
  11. I found a line in WoK that indicates that Shardblades might be adjustable in size. WoK pg 910: If Shardplate molds to fit the wearer, than it seems likely that Shardblades also mold to fit their wielders. Note the grammar of the sentence. The way molded is used here implies to me that the Plate molded itself, as opposed to being molded by people.
  12. Brandon has said that the people in Mistborn would pronounce Kelsier as Kel-see-ay (although he pronounces it KEL-seer), like it's French. Word of god trumps the audiobook.
  13. Stormlight 2 is almost certainly going to be published in 2013. Sorry.
  14. I would like to announce that I got Star Wars Episode I Racer working!!!! (sure, I'm using a sega dreamcast emulator, but who cares? It works!)
  15. I hope this hasn't been forgotten...
  16. I don't think we know enough about Adonalsium to speculate about what Hoid is trying to do. We don't really know what it was, what life was like before the Shattering, what caused the Shattering, whether the Shattering was a good thing or a bad thing (or something else), how Hoid was involved, or really anything at all. About the whole Vin thing in HoA, Brandon said "too observant for her own good". This implies to me that: a) it was her own instincts and observations, not anything that Ruin or Preservation did. b ) if she had met with Hoid, Hoid would have helped her. One more thing. I vaguely remember hearing that Brandon said, in regards to the Suvudu Cage Match, that if Hoid had participated, he would have swept the floor with everybody else. (powerwise, of course. He might not have actually won the competition.) What that means, I don't know.
  17. Not necessarily. The process that draws the power out of atium may not work on non-metals. Certainly Atium can't be used to make dyes. (I think)
  18. I would like to announce that I'm insanely jealous of all you Oregonians being able to meet each other. Are there any other Californians around here?
  19. My guess is that his touch will be felt, but in an almost unnoticeable way. Kind of like Sazed in AoL. (or Kelsier in HoA, for that matter). No Deus ex Machina, but definitely a little bit of meddling.
  20. Or to Ruin your opponents...
  21. Except he doesn't have any armor any more. I'm not saying this invalidates that theory, I'm just pointing it out.
  22. Have a cookie!
  23. To clarify: Lifeless don't consume a breath. They're just so "sticky" that you can't get their breath out of them again. The breath isn't consumed the same way it is for Returned or Nightblood.
