  1. Short for George R. R. Martin, and what Kurkistan said. Also, he's apparently resistant to physical damage (resistant, not immune), but I figure that if Kelsier can kill an Inquisitor, he can kill Ray. When in doubt, chop off their head. It's hard to live through that...
  2. New matches are up!
  3. It should be opening again tomorrow. Also, the first two match-ups were easy ones. Now we're getting into the hard matches.
  4. I'd like to see Brandon write the Moraine v Kelsier match-up, ifwhen it comes. If there's anyone who could do both characters justice, and integrate the magic systems, it'd be him.
  5. I know that. My point is, that annotation and the related scene in the book are the only places where silver is mentioned at all when related to Allomancy. So the fact that she managed to find that piece of information is impressive, even if she misunderstood what it meant.
  6. I was only defending our good name. I still want to know where she found the silver detail. About the only place I can think of where she would have found it was that one annotation, and I rate the chances of her reading the annotations for the write-up as practically nil.
  7. Yeah, Moraine got a good write-up. Also, Moraine and Kelsier won by the greatest percentages last round! Woo! (of course, they both had pathetically easy opponents, but...) Granny's write-up was funny as well.
  8. It depends on the series. If it's one story arc, then yes. If it's a disjointed series, like Discworld, then reading them out of order is fine. (of course, if this was a disjointed series like Discworld, then Brandon wouldn't have to finish them).
  9. Kelsier and Moraine pass the first round by landslides! (not that either one had particularly challenging matchups.)
  10. I'll say that Kelsier's revolution completely blindsided me. If I had any idea of what would happen, it was blown away by the pure awesomeness of what happened. EDIT: Also, Marsh's Inquisitorialness (new word!) came as a surprise as well.
  11. What do we do when Morraine fights Kelsier in the Quarterfinals? (Also, we may have to work hard for votes in order to beat Tyrion, even though Kelsier would beat him up and down the field.)
  12. An award for having lots of awards! An award for reading all of Brandon's published books and/or Cosmere books.
  13. An award for creating a long lasting thread (10 pages or so). An award for being mentioned on Brandon's website. An award for creating awesome paraphernalia (like the Alethi font, or the soulcaster) and/or art An award (as has already been said) for getting a theory right An award for coming back after a long absence An award for not leaving for a really long time An award for handing out cookies for new members and/or generally welcoming them to the forum.
  14. I'm guessing they joined for the Inquisitor Santa contest. Does viewing a news post count as a view?
  15. I got to figure that zombie-fueled Hemalurgic spikes are a one-way road to frothing insanity.
  16. I'd be a coinshot for one reason alone: Coinshots can fly. It's rather easy to escape zombies when you can flee upwards. The danger of being an Allomancer in a post-apocalyptic world (as opposed to Scadrial) would be the lack of alchemists who can prepare pure metal solutions. For that reason, I think I might prefer to be a Feruchemist, probably either of speed or strength.
  17. Thanks! I first saw the joke on Facebook. The comments: Looks like he's in big treble. He better move or he'll Bb! I like this sharp sense of humor. You have the right to remain tacet. He's gonna be detained for forte years. Allegro! Allegro! Double Time! You're gonna get crushed! Also, more bad puns.
  18. That's four ways now that I know of to get past the blackout. 1. Use Mobile Wiki 2. Disable Javascript 3. Use a different language, and translate it into English with Google Translate (or something similar) 4. add ?banner=none to the end of the URL. 19. How do you catch a unique rabbit? U-nique up on it. How do you catch a tame rabbit? Tame way.
  20. Also, if you check the beginning of the thread "FREAKIN' SPACE TRAVEL!", you'll see that a full Mistborn Feruchemist (like TLR) could use compounding to survive and travel in space. If Kelsier is Batman, TLR is Superman.
  21. Having a reason for being mopey isn't the same as not being mopey. Fortunately, Kaladin should be much better in the next book. He'll still have his issues, but he'll be less mopey about it now that he's accepted that he's going to protect his friends, and that his friends don't condemn him for his insanely awesome powers (which was a fairly stupid plot point in the first place. I'm glad Brandon ended it quickly).
  22. Has there been any indications that the Ghostbloods are related at all to the Seventeenth Shard? (besides them both being secret societies)
  23. The Pits of Hasthin were Ruin's "shardpool", and the Tears of Edgli (flowers that only grow in valley jungle of Hallandren and are particularly potent for making dyes are somehow connected to Endowment, making them a possible "shardpool" as well. These aren't "pools" per se, but they are physical outlets for the shard's power.
  24. That was kind of a hard line to miss.
