  1. Hey there, and welcome to the forums! I'm one of your friendly neighborhood admins, and like you, I got into the Sanderson fandom through WoT. I'm sorry to hear you don't like your job, but here's hoping that 17S will help cheer you up! And, of course, here's your obligatory cookie for introducing yourself:
  2. I guess it depends on how much later, and whether or not the planet-hoppers can hop through time as well, since we know Elantris takes place sooner on the timeline than Stormlight Archive. Does anyone remember if we have any quotes on what the time delay actually is?
  3. If you're looking for something good to happen with that in the Naruto manga, though, don't hold your breath. The way it happened is contrived, ridiculous, and nothing more than fanservice mixed with the Ultimate Battle of Ultimate Destiny. The part you read about on Wikipedia is actually what made me lose interest. PM me if you want anything more spoileriffic than that.
  4. Well, it's sort of hard to be a hermit in Luthadel, Hemalurgic or otherwise. And yes! We also love infodumping over skype, so if you do want to know exactly what's going on, we can help you out there too. It'll just take a lot of time. EDIT: You can go here for a brief summary of the main, overarching storylines. Much of the main buildup to the now-memetic Ball is summed up in that post, if in a very general kind of way. There's also a longer exchange here, spanning several posts. Hope that helps!
  5. Wow, that sounds interesting. Last night, my mom made the most delicious fried chicken. It was filleted chicken breast breaded with flour, smoked paprika, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and panko. And I think a couple other things as well. It was crispy, flavorful, and SO delicious! <3
  6. With AtLA, your mileage may vary. It depends on your definition of anime. I've typically noticed three main definitions: Anime is Japanese animation. No exceptions. "Anime" = Japanese for "animation." Therefore, all animation is technically anime. Anime is usually Japanese animation, but can include works from other countries if they're up to snuff. I'm somewhere between #2 and #3, and I most definitely consider AtLA anime. In terms of manga, I'm also a big fan of Hikaru no Go, One Piece, Nurarihyon no Mago, Kekkaishi, and Skip Beat. I've never seen the anime for any of those, aside from a couple One Piece episodes.
  7. So, we've been telling you all that we would have a read-only TWG archive up for your perusal. I'm happy to announce that that we've finally placed a link to it on the forums! You can find it as a redirect forum under the Related Works category. You can also click here to go straight there. Enjoy!
  8. It happens! We're moving again now though!
  9. Yeah, please try to stay away from random Hemalurgy. That goes for pretty much anyone making a character on MBI, particularly for the first time. It's definitely a hard sell for us.
  10. Upvotes given for Mushi-shi and and BECK! I'm also a big fan of anything by Studio Ghibli, have seen some Durarara!, Fate/Stay Night, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop, and I've seen all of Shoujo Kakumei Utena and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Evangelion I actually watched start to finish in a 24 hour period. I do not recommend doing that. Seriously. Just don't do it. Magic User's Club is also fun, if a little ecchi at times. I used to be a huge fan of Bleach and Naruto, but as the artists are forced to extend the series to get JUMP more money, I've found the plotlines increasingly contrived. I still might go back and catch up on them anyways, though. I've seen part of the Fruits Basket anime, but I prefer the manga by far.
  11. I would like to announce that it feels really good to be home for the weekend.
  12. Or, you know, the expression "new to the crew." Just saying.
  13. Hello, and welcome! Glad to see you made it over here. As a reward for your long and arduous journey (and for introducing yourself to us), you get a cookie:
  14. The best thing to do there is to ask Eric and me about it. Why don't you start a group PM with us? A lot of times, we're able to work something out, as long as you're willing to be a bit flexible. ^^
  15. The easy way around that is to create a character who's coming to Luthadel for the first time. Then you and your character can learn what's been going on together!

    Shirts

I can already buy one. As for figurines of ourselves, I know a company partnered with WoW to do that, but the things are ridiculously expensive, as one would imagine from custom work.
  17. And if nothing else, you'll recognize me! :: Um, kind of. XD
  18. Wow, these are gorgeous! I'm jealous; I'd love to learn how to make things like this.
  19. With a name like Cowboys and Aliens, I'd be sort of surprised if anyone thought it could be taken seriously. As for the character banners, I love the costumes, but holy whoa. Is it just me or do those look almost freakishly photoshopped?
  20. The Wanderers and Prospit/Derse are still my favorites, but I also tend to play a lot of the earlier battle themes too. X3 Muahahahahaha!
  21. Wait wait wait. Hold the phone. You're going to Megacon? I don't think we can get the full group for Mega (the only con Kuri and I have in common is Ota, currently), but there definitely needs to be a 17S meetup. I'm almost positive I can throw Vriska together for spring.
  22. We've already seen a half Elantrian, remember?

    Shirts

We will be considering both cost effectiveness and design factors when choosing the colors of the shirts, too. I know we've always planned to have shirts, but with everything else that's going on, it's sort of been pushed to the back seat for a while - especially when compared to things like, you know, epic giveaways.
  24. The Gregory Brothers are made of awesome, pure and simple. I did manage to find something even more random though!
