  1. Happy Birthday!

  2. Alloy of Line? An Epic of Epic Epicness.

  3. I was also very preoccupied getting ready for Alloy.
  4. There's also the possibility that Allomancy is easiest to sense because the ability being used is, well, Allomantic. We also know from Brandon's answer that it's not so simple as merely burning bronze and hoping you'll catch a Feruchemist; otherwise, the Inquisitors would have done it. But it is possible, at least theoretically. I didn't think to ask Brandon if anyone has ever done it before. This is definitely something I'd like to see explored. Could a Seeker on Sel learn to sense someone channeling the Dor, or go to Roshar and sense Surgebinding? That sure would be useful. In fact, maybe that's one of the things the writer of the Ars Arcanum was alluding to when s/he wrote that Hemalurgy was of particular interest...

  6. Hey, Cope! It's me, Kerry, one of the admins you spoke to in the line. I'm really glad you came and joined up! ^^ It was great getting to meet you in line. It's too bad you couldn't make the party, but it was fun talking to you all the same. Enjoy the book! Also, have a cookie:
  7. Thank you for everything! I had a blast, and the T-shirt is awesome. I'm wearing mine today, in fact. ^^ It was great getting to meet so many Sharders. You guys are even more awesome in real life! I can't wait to bring Keep 17 back to BYU and do this all again. Hopefully when it's warm. And to everyone who helped us out over the course of the weekend - mycoltbug, Link, and especially zas - I can't thank you enough. All hail the man with the suit! Also, I hope all that eyeliner came off alright. So yeah. Alloy of Line was amazing. Beyond amazing. Words cannot describe how epic it was, and it was all thanks to you guys. I can't wait for the next one!
  8. There might be power Monday. The circuits outside are blown right now though, and maintenance is out for the weekend.
  9. Our tent totally rocks. Also, even the Floridian in the group didn't freeze last night. It's sitting around outside that's killing me. XD Any locals up for a hot chocolate party?
  10. There are several hundred more to sign, though, so I'd say this question is still valid. I'll flip around and see what I can find. My favorite line from the book is Sazed's "You're welcome," but that seems kind of odd for a signing quote.
  11. Oh man, the train fight was awesome. It was that classic Old West scenario, but with a Mistborn twist, which I really enjoyed. And that whole end sequence was fantastic. I knew cadmium was going to play into it somehow as soon as Wax made that cryptic comment about it being useful, but it seeing it come into play the way it did was really gratifying. My favorite part of that ending sequence, though? "You're welcome."
  12. I'm pretty sure you already know where I stand on this, but I'm casting a vote anyways.
  13. That interview was so awesome. Many many thanks to Patrick and Alex for taking so much time to talk with us!
  14. I haven't seen the Fairy Tail anime, but I adore the manga. I need to get caught back up on it. I particularly adore Erza; I even did a last-minute cosplay of her one year.
  15. Well, technically, all Mistborn always had all sixteen powers (sort of; see the incident with cadmium/bendalloy being swapped out on the table there for a while), it's just that they didn't have knowledge of them for whatever reason. Sazed alludes to this in his letter at the end, which is also where we found out that Spook was made a Mistborn. Then, Wax's internal narration confirms that, yes, the other powers were discovered (rediscovered?) in Spook's lifetime.
  16. I'll bring my cards, as long as someone will agree to teach me how to play. Deal?
  17. Maybe. If he is, though, someone's got into the staff's Hemalurgic Spike Storage Vault.
  18. Happy Birthday!

  19. As do I. It's just plain not cool to tease like that.
  20. It sounds really really cool. You should draw things the way you "see" them sometime!
  21. Trust me hun, you're gonna blink and suddenly be 10 years older.
  22. I'll be there! Camping out, with my fellow Sharders, in the coolest tent ever. Also, I will give a special forum award to anyone who gives/buys me hot chocolate while we're there.
  23. The initial proposal from Crafty was to do it via MBI, since they're both Mistborn RPs and all. We're still working with them on the specifics though, so rest assured that whatever decision we come to, it will be what we think is the best for all of us. I can tell you, though, that whichever forum has the actual RP, the other will have a redirect to it, so it definitely won't be lacking in visibility.
  24. That actually reminds me of a condition where people really do see certain characters, words, or numbers in different colors, etc. It's called Grapheme-Color Synesthesia and it's kind of awesome.
