  1. Might just be a style choice. The glyph itself seems to be more of a mix of blue and purple, than just purple- probably caused by the lighting differences that are present on each glyph. Not to mention the outside edges of each glyph are darker than the insides, and it makes it look a lot less blue than it was before. If there is significance to it, we really have no clue what that significance is.
  2. After this grave and savage war involving distant cousins and potatoes, my partially legal funeral service will have so much money! Yes, continue fighting. Should I place orders for more distant cousins and potatoes? Or are there other family members and vegetables you want to throw at each other? Can I place orders for nearby cousins instead of distant ones? Travel costs are a nightmare nowadays.
  3. Happy to help! Ooh. Never really looked into acupuncture. Wonder if somebody will ever accidentally discover Hemalurgy on a distant planet by a simple acupuncture mishap Maybe they could, if it wasn't for lousy Intent YOU TAUGHT MARTIAL ARTS?????? Besides that, that's very interesting! I'm not sure if I'll commit just yet, but I might check out some other minor resources relating to it, before going for the big-money resource. Thanks!
  4. I don't know where the information itself came from, but the Hemalurgy page on the Coppermind states that we DO know what charges are in the Kandra Blessings and Koloss Spikes. Koloss are created with four Iron Spikes (Human Attribute - Strength) and the Kandra Blessings vary, but are known. Potency - Iron (Strength) Awareness - Tin (Senses) Presence - Zinc (Emotional Fortitude) Stability - Copper (Intelligence/Mental Fortitude/Memory) All involve human attributes. Most Kandra have two Spikes of the same attribute to make up a Blessing. The Hemalurgy page also states that one Spike will work, but will cause 'erratic behavior'. Indeed. We can speculate, though, using the Hemalurgy Chart (on the Hemalurgy Coppermind page). Duralumin steals Connection, which could Connect him to the Physical Realm. None of the others really seem to make sense, so that's been my (unproven) headcanon for a while now. Either way, I'd recommend checking out the Hemalurgy Page on the Coppermind for proof of what I've said- and also you might learn something else or see something I missed. Did you know there are between 200 and 300 Bind Points in the human body? I sure didn't for quite awhile
  5. This is a fun one. For the first one, I'd have to select Thug as a Misting. Pewter's just so useful in everyday life, just to do whatever. Coinshot would be second place there. With enough Pewter, I can actually have the energy to be able to do things, and I could just dead sprint everywhere I need to go- forget a car at all. Not to mention construction jobs would become easier, and will be a type of easy work if I need a job. For the second one, I'd have to go Steelrunner as a Ferring. I spend most of my time lounging around anyways, and if I can use Steel to just speedily do things so I can go back to lounging around... easy life. For the third one, I'd have to go Thug/Steelrunner as a regular Twinborn, but probably Coinshot/Steelrunner as a Twinborn Compounder. Both are incredibly useful combinations. For the ones that fit me, it's probably Rioter/Soother as a Misting (either work) and a Sparker as a Ferring. Regular Twinborn is Soother/Sparker and Compounder is Rioter/Sparker. I'm particularly good at analyzing and responding to wild emotions, but I also have similar ADHD issues allowing for a Sparker. I didn't even notice that Rioter/Sparker was a Compounder combination for a moment, but that sure made it easy.
  6. I feel like if this happened, this would just cause damage and not have any other effect. My understanding is that the Spike is stabbing in, and 'grabbing hold' of the Spiritweb when you first stab it in. Then, when you remove the Spike, the Spiritweb is forced to tear due to Ruin's Investiture grabbing the Spiritweb directly, and physical separation of the Spiritweb and the Spike means SOMETHING has to tear. If the Spike is stabbed in and LEFT in, then I feel like maybe thier Spiritweb would be punctured, but otherwise unchanged. Unless you mean something else that I'm not seeing. I feel like this could work, but not for the reason you're speculating. It's close, but here's my idea: Hemalurgy requires blood flow in order to charge a spike. This correlates to the heart, where the Inquisitors Spiked directly anyway- which in my opinion is the 'center' of the Spiritweb, allowing for the Spike to be charged. The reason I think this is because of Shardblades. When Shardblades are cut through limbs, there is not a random chance to lose an Allomantic or Feruchemical ability- it doesn't even kill them. Fatal Shardblade wounds are only when the Shardblade passes through the spine or the skull, thereby severing the connection of the Spiritweb's 'Core' to the Cognitive (brain) and from there the Physical. I suspect a Shardblade wound to the heart would also kill if landed right, but it'd probably sever the spine anyways. Strength and Weight would probably get converted into Investiture when stored, and are re-converted back into their original form when taken out, so it's probably also relating to the 'Core' of the Spiritweb as I've said. The 'outer circle' of the Spiritweb are connected to the limbs and body, and the 'inner circle' is the Core- it draws in the strength and weight from the limbs and converts it into Investiture, I assume. My guess isn't any better than yours, but it makes a lot of sense out of what we have. Makes sense for different reasons. Attaching a 'Core Spiritweb' piece onto an 'Outer Spiritweb' isn't going to have the most optimal results. I like how this made me think of the 'different levels of Spiritweb'. I haven't researched enough Spiritual Aspects to make much sense of any of this yet. Maybe you could even 'heal' a hole in the Spiritweb from a Spiked individual by replacing it with an entirely different power. Won't seal it up 100%, but if you splice out a piece of an Inner Spiritweb and then splice in a piece of a different Inner Spiritweb, would it allow for almost full healing? I also wonder if the effects are different for non-magic based things, like an Iron Spike tearing out strength. Would that sabotage the Outer Spiritweb instead? Or does it still draw from the Inner Spiritweb, forcing it to convert the Outer Spiritweb's Strength into Investiture for a Spike to steal, then the Spike converts it back using Ruin's Investiture when placed inside a different person? I'd like to hear thoughts too. This whole 'theory' on Inner/Outer Spiritweb was thought up on a whim, and I'd like to see some evidence against it. Seems a bit too good to be true. Supporting evidence does help too, though- overall, more comments the better.
  7. Edit: I got Ninja'd, I think that's the term. Sorry! Ah yes, an Enhancement and a Cognitive Metal. This is always difficult... F-Copper can be good in some limited cases- especially against Twinborn. If you can get into a fight with a Misting/Ferring/Twinborn, bait their ability out. This allows you to prepare for their strengths and weaknesses- Pewter Burners will be used to increased strength, so you can take that away with a touch, and F-Copper can provide you with a strategy for disarming them without getting your face bashed in. This really shines in Twinborn, though- if you fight a Twinborn, you can scan your Coppermind for a good strategy of getting close without their F or A ability stopping you, then disarm their A ability. This would probably throw them off until they get another vial. If you can take them down now that they're disoriented, now's the time. However, you may want to just waste their Metals until backup comes in- if it does come in. Use your Coppermind for strategy once they replenish/if they replenish, disarm them again, and repeat. Beat them a little if you have to. Would be more effective as a Nicroburst/Archivist, but it could work. Resonance is hard here. Maybe you can use your Chromium as Enhancement for others' Cognitive states? Maybe wipe away a memory, or just disorient them further? Resonance here is very difficult to balance, but it's a better approach. Naming is not my kinda thing. Hope this at least generates some better ideas for you, this combo is very hard to analyze and predict. Even mine seems pretty weak, but here's my best shot at it.
  8. Now that you mention it, I feel like I loosely remember it. Was it AoL? I associate that memory with Miles, is all. It might just be up to WoB interpretation, but I thought it was saying 'I made Wax a Savant, I dislike it, I won't do it again.' Mainly just from how he said Wax was 'intended' as a Savant, but won't be doing it 'again'. However, it's mostly up to interpretation here. I don't think this is something we can solve, so let's just say he's not a Savant but it's not a Resonance either.
  9. It definitely is, but what I'm saying is that it's a Savantized (yes I'm using that now) Resonance, meaning it's probably different from the usual Resonance and therefore not a great baseline to work off of. It definitely clues us in a bit, but since it was changed by Savantism and in a way we don't know how, I doubt it's a solid trusted source- especially since Brandon will change Savantism to make it work better, that means Steel Bubble is not a true Resonance. I would definitely like more abstract Resonances, though... thinking up all these combinations of Spiritual, Cognitive, Physical, Mental, Temporal, and Enhancement for my own personal take on TCs is very confusing sometimes Also, this brought something up that I thought was cool: Resonances can have Savant effects. Should we start listing Savantized Resonances in the Twinborn Combos list, or is that a bit too much for both of us @Koloss17
  10. Wax's steel bubble ability is very strange right now. From what I can tell, it's actually the Savant Version (Savantized?) Resonance. Meaning that might not be the actual Resonance of A-Steel and F-Iron, but a Savant effect of it. Especially since Wax burns Steel more, that might explain why there seems to be more of an A-Steel-based effect and not an F-Iron-based effect. Brandon is reworking Savantism according to some WoBs that I remember, but can't find. I'll edit them if I can find them, here. Bondsmiths are strange cases. We don't know anything about Cultivation's Bondsmith, we have not learned much about Cultivation + Honor's Bondsmith, and Honor's Bondsmith is... Honor's Bondsmith, so Connection manipulation seems more natural. Bondsmith's ability to manipulate Connection could be entirely unrelated to a Resonance, and purely related to the fact the only one we've really seen in action is Honor's Bondsmith. It could be a resonance, but we've no solid proof or a way to identify it as either option, especially since from what we've seen Cultivation + Honor's Bondsmith and Honor's Bondsmith have completely different effects despite having the exact same surges. Yet again, we haven't studied them, so we don't really know- it's all up in the air, this is partially speculation.
  11. Isn't Copper Archivist? Similar principles, but Keeper is the group associated with the Synod and stuff IIRC. Keepers did use Copperminds to achieve their goals, so it slightly works, but secretkeeper seems too far off for reasons you've said. We could try a name combining Archivist/Archiver/Archive and whatever is decided for the Soothing part of the name, although it's not an easy word to combine anything with. Maybe we could go for something simpler, like Storyteller since the 'telling' would be enhanced by Soothing and the 'story' is from a Coppermind. However, Storyteller could also work for A-Zinc and F-Copper, so maybe not. Just spitballing, here.
  12. If I am allowed to post them, I'd have to do a lot of reworking (and also double-check and make sure I don't repost a TC/Twinborn Combo that was already done). My understanding of resonances was somewhat flawed at best because they're challenging to think of sometimes, so I feel I gave them a bit too much leeway and should at least give them all another look. Aluminum/Duralumin/Chromium/Nicrosil and Atium are the real troublemakers of complexity for interesting combos (both allomantically and feruchemically) while A-gold and A-electrum aren't helping, but the few high-quality TCs I worked out are pretty cool (if my theories for them are correct).
  13. Not a thread at all! It's just something I've written down, non-public. I just thought it was fun so I was doing it in my spare time. I know idea theft can be a pretty tough thing, even if it's non-public. Thanks! I'll just continue writing them on my own. Sorry for all this! No, that was just me remembering rep is a thing. First I read it all, then I apologized, then I went back and looked for all the combos that I thought were cool and... I might've thought they all were cool (Yes, even the 'lamer' ones). Sorry! Should I go back and undo it? I didn't know mass-repping was a bad thing (yes I just invented that term now) and can undo it if you think I should. Sorry for causing even more problems
  14. A very fun idea, in fact! So fun that I have come here so late in the thread to (kind of) apologize. Way earlier on, before this thread had more than one page, I saw this idea and kind of.... accidentally stole it. I meant to ask for permission, but school distracted me and I forgot to ask. Now I'm 24 Twinborn Combos deep and catching up on this thread, just now realizing I never asked. I can stop if you want, help if you want, or I can continue writing for my set of personal ideas and you can work with the community for severely improved combos from the ones I thought up on a whim Also, just as a bit of help, you should try to write down the numbers that you rolled somewhere separate just so you can double check and make sure you don't accidentally reroll something you've already done before. One last general question: What would you call an Atium Ferring? Assuming we're using the Era 1 Atium still (Allomantic Future-Shadows and Feruchemcial Youth) I'd assume that would have its own name, but I can't find anything official on the Coppermind, and it would really help my notes (if I am allowed to continue making them).
  15. I'll charge a little extra for an airtight casket. Then your youth won't have to worry about the rabbits until it's gone. Your adult self will be watching from a distance, so don't worry.
  16. I'm doing a funeral service involving dynamite and rabbits. Do you want one too, for when you become an adult?
  17. Are you a messenger from them? Please ask them how many rabbits they can spare for the dynamite lighting.
  18. Going as well as it can. My wrist aches from writing, but it's worth it. Consider it done. Yes. I like this. The bunnies shall light the sticks of explosive youth. We shall celebrate under the smoky mist of destruction.
  19. Can we do dynamite? If we make it convincing enough they might lower the cost and we can get even more dynamite for our funerals.
  20. Always good to plan ahead! Consider it done. If Tani's funeral does become extremely explosive, we may charge you for the extra fees beyond the regular dynamite count.
  21. Ah, okay. That makes sense, I understand now. To add-on to the original topic, if I had to guess I'd pair Odium with Zinc. This one leans more into the Shardic Intent since we don't know much about Voidbinding or anything relating to Odium besides the Unmade. However, considering things like the Nergaoul and Ashertmarn, either Zinc or Brass could work. Considering the Shardic Intent I'd place it under Zinc- especially since Voidlight apparently makes all emotions STRONGER when inside a Singer. Not sure how it lines up Feruchemically.
  22. Maybe so. Either way, doesn't matter that much. Just some parallels to consider- we really don't know that much about the Intents and how it applies to the Shard itself that much, so I can only guess. Good theorizing though. Allomancy is fueled by Preservation's power, directly. That's why it's end-positive, the power is coming from somewhere else, leaving your original abilities after the Metal ran out or is no longer burned unchanged. If a Push-based Metal removed the Connection, then you would have no benefit from burning a Push-based Metal, as you can't access the power of Pres. The Push and Pull is meant to use Preservation's power to affect objects, not Connection. A Pewter Push ends up Pushing your body to be stronger, and a Tin Pull ends up Pulling your body to be weaker- more sensitive, for example.
  23. Don't have much to contribute, but you might be able to flip Cadmium and Bendalloy by how it affects everything OUTSIDE the bubble instead. Preservation definitely didn't preserve himself well, he ruined himself to preserve OTHERS by the whole Well of Ascension trap and The Mists. Ruin's entire goal was to get the Atium without letting anybody else have it, he wanted to preserve himself so he could ruin OTHERS. Don't know if this means much of anything, but it makes Cadmium of Ruin, since you are making time faster for the OTHERS, and Bendalloy for Preservation, since you are making time slower for OTHERS. Sorry for the wild emphasis on 'OTHERS'.
  24. You should note the fact that he is considered a god, not that he is explicitly said to be one. The Shards themselves are millions of times more powerful than Kelsier is. Are you aware of how Cognitive Shadows work? That should clue you in on what's going on. If not, make sure you're caught up on all the Mistborn series, including Secret History. I don't know how far you've read, so I'm hesitant to give you direct answers.
