  1. Hooray! More 'evil' orders! Anyways, great work here with the Ruinholder development, and I like how the title ties into the power akin to Windrunning and Lightweaving. Havocspren are a great concept as well, along with the simple but still fitting Furyspren for the Plate. The only minor adjustment I'd make would be with the Resonance- not every Ruinholder would be one in the same circumstance, and I'd bet some would have more perfectly sealed Spiritwebs (by fixing it themselves beforehand or just not breaking it that terribly in the first place). Unless you mean to imply their Resonance naturally breaks down their own Spiritweb over a set time period (like they're Ruinholding themselves or something along those lines), I'd adjust it to be a little different since the way you phrased the Resonance makes the effect feel circumstantial instead of universal for all Ruinholders. Besides my awfully worded minor issue, great work! I find this a funny reference to Mistborn: I see you're practically the only true consistent poster here, at this point. Thanks for sticking around! I'll try to add to this whole thing eventually, but my school workload is making even this simple response difficult. Thanks for sticking around and having fun (and letting me 'critique' your work )!
  2. I am a priest now. At least I'm not at the bottom of the religious chain.
  3. Nice! I like the surge combo a lot. I think you copy-pasted the wrong first two paragraphs, however, that holds some Pathcarver lore. I'll edit this response once you update it, so I can give my opinion on the lore for Bodysharpeners. Also, may I suggest Bodyshapers? It's a bit closer to Willshaper, but I think it matches the format better. Do what you want! Edit: Nice call with the Bodyforgers. It's a great choice, and I like the overall lore of the Bodyshapers. Endeavourspren are a strange one, but I like that description a lot. Not many go for the Cognitive AND Physical description, so props to you for that. I love a good support role, nice development. Great work!
  4. The 'difference' is that the original Pathcarver Resonance was more aimed towards structural flaws only, in non-living obects, ex: a cracked wall, but the more general resonance i suggested can refer to flaws in general, such as people (physically or cognitively), which I feel would fit more. Again, don't change anything you don't want to, but if you think my idea works as well, go ahead, no need to doubt yourself.
  5. Good work, I like it. Don't sweat the Fifth Ideal too much, we only have the Skybreaker to pattern it off of, and even then their order is a tad different from most. The Fifth Ideals aren't intended to be fully accurate, due to our overall lack of understanding them. I feel like the description of (what I think is) the Surge Combo more closely matches something like Cohesion + Abrasion, so you might want to save that for something else. May I suggest something like something being Slicked when Lashed? Thereby allowing a physical object to negate air resistance/friction but not allowing the high-level alteration of matter that could be found with a Cohesion/Abrasion Combo? Either way, do what you want. Just trying to help May I suggest 'pathcarvers'? Not too much better, but might help. Besides that: Great work! I like the elaboration on the difference between pre-Recreance Radiants and modern Radiants. The only thing I'd change would be a minor adjustment to the Resonance, maybe it could just be towards flaws in general? Like noticing an outlier in a pattern, a crack in a wall, or just something wrong altogether? This could also apply to people if you want to boost it. I also like the elaboration of the Crumblespren, a very unique description, both for its purpose and its physical description.
  6. This is exactly what I was thinking! I like the noticeable split between sides, and how both sides of the Order are hated by the sides they fight for. I'm not too sure about the First Ideal being changed though, as no matter the Order it is always universal. We still don't know much about the inverted LBD Death Rattle, so I'm not sure if we can assign that to Odium or whatnot. While yes, Radiants with Odium's Surges would be cool, I mean more so in an orientation way. Radiants that use Honor/Cultivation's Surges and powers but have Oaths and resonances and combos that make them likely to have members of the Order on both Honor and Odium's side.
  7. Life's an easy one. The two-word format is pretty difficult and the positivity focus of the Orders really narrows down the options. Anything with Progression will most likely have some variation of Life, and considering Cultivation's influence on the other Surges still, it's basically a default. However, that does give me an idea: Negative Radiant Orders? Odium-serving kind? Would be fun to theorize. I'll see if I can try my hand at one eventually, but school's been making my brain run dry.
  8. This is really good! I like the establishment of the Internal Lashing, staying in line with how the other Lashings work. It's fine to leave Ideals unfinished, I'm pretty sure we never really made those mandatory (although they are preferred). However, if you do plan on working on them eventually, you could start out simpler like 'I will seek a better society for all' as a general second Ideal, and then maybe lean into the removal of what's established, like 'I will break down the old and build up the new' or something along those lines. It's your concept, so don't feel pressured to include these. Also, again, I like the inter-order relationships, especially the conflicts. Skybreakers are a good opposite but keep in mind that Skybreakers aren't forced to maintain THE law, just a law or code. For example, I suspect the Skybreakers to be split in half, one trying to support the Viewtwisters and the other trying to maintain the original law, against the Viewtwisters. Good work! I'm trying to be a little more interactive with my responses now, as I realized I haven't been contributing much.
  9. I am obligated to tell you that I am obligated to obligate.
  10. A-Pewter's healing is just a general healing buff, as it buffs all of your other physical defenses. It increases your natural regeneration slightly and natural regeneration speed slightly, not by much, and it makes it easier to sustain injuries while burning (giving you time to heal them before you die). So, yes, it is theoretically an Invested healing method, but it's not a particularly good one (F-Gold is much, much, much better) but it can do what is described above, apparently.
  11. Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I somehow completely forgot about compounding. Thanks!
  12. Huh. Good to know, thanks. I meant more-so Intent-wise, as a theoretical (if outside Investiture from Preservation/Ruin could affect Feruchemy, what could it affect and how kinda thing). They definitely are a proper blend and you can't separate the halves outright. I meant the first, but it's good to have answers for both. I'll see if I can do a series reread for Mistborn sometime soon, I could use a refresher. Thanks for the corrections!
  13. Very good work! I like orders not primarily focused on combat, but healer roles are hard to make work with the existence of Edgedancers. I can see this order being the professional surgeons of the world, or the last ditch healers as I suspect their unique Surge Combo would cost a LOT of Stormlight or exhaustion or both. I think the simplest description of Surge Combos VS Resonances is that Resonances are unintentional. They're loosely related. Lightweaver resonances are their ability with memories, as shown with Shallan (and I think mentioned with other people of the Lightweavers). Surge Combos are a direct effect of using two Surges that normally never interact together. Resonances are more people-specific and can have variations, and are sometimes related directly to Surgebinding (Windrunners have greater Squire capacity) or are directly related to person (the aforementioned Lightweaver Resonance). Also, I thought Nale used a Regrowth fabrial? Might remember wrong though, Adhesion + Progression would be very good at revivals.
  14. I had a much longer comment shortened out, but I changed my mind on a few things. 1. You can't use Ruin's Investiture to power Preservation's Invested Art without severe trickery or Connection manipulation. They are the most opposite Shards, and making it fuel Allomancy would be repulsive for Ruin's Investiture because of how badly it goes against the Intent. You could most likely do it with another Invested Art or using a different Shard's Investiture, but Ruin hates Preservation and Preservation hates Ruin. They will reject each other when you try to force them together like this. Feruchemy may have more luck, but probably nothing positive will come from it. You might be able to Store faster (Ruining your body quicker, using more of Ruin's Investiture) and maybe Tap quicker (Ruining your body's natural state, using more of Ruin's Investiture, or at least going against Preservation) but that's for things already Ruin-associated and may cause a shorter limit before there's decay as more of Ruin is used. I don't think there'd be a way to make Ruin's Investiture work for Preservation's half of Feruchemy: Keeping the attribute stored safely in a Metalmind. They're far too different to work together. 2. Spike limit is unchangeable. Whether this is assumed or not, Spiking an Allomancer or a Feruchemist over a human will still run into the same limit- even though Preservation would repel Ruin (which you might think would cause more damage) and a Feruchemist has more Ruin involved (which would cause less damage but may be balanced by Preservation) but still, the average human can be spiked of natural attributes and would hit the same spike limit. There may be ways to hit the spike limit sooner than others or by using more dangerous attributes, but even humans off-world would be affected by the same spike limit before becoming a Hemalurgic Construct- even on that one super-invested planet full of super-invested people (I'll figure out spoiler thingies later so this vague description will have to do). Ruin's Investiture can probably be used to infiltrate and be used for other Invested Arts with strange effects, either desirable or undesirable, but cannot be forced into something as unwilling to cooperate as Preservation's Allomancy or Preservation's half of Feruchemy. Hemalurgy is universal, so the spike limit is similarly universal, no matter the orientation (or lack) of investiture inside a being. Keep in mind, I'm pretty sure point 2 was never officially proven, but I believe it to be the consensus we have run with as it seems to have acted in such a way. Also, AFAIK Allomancy pops up in genetics because.. genetics. Not at random or because of Preservation's Investiture directly, the original Allomancers took a Lerasium bead, and from there Allomancy lines spread. And on that point, I thought Preservation/Ruin was balanced in all humans. Otherwise, there'd be a lot less violence and a lot more protection among Scadrians. I'm welcome for correction on any of these points, by the way.
  15. Yeah, no pressure. You write what you want. Ah, that makes sense. Understood!
  16. Sorry, I was gone for awhile. Great work to all of you! Done well. I like the elaboration of who is most likely to become that Radiant, and the rivalries are always fun. Nice job! Ooh, a double. I like the Lightbringers, those seem fun. My only worry with Flamepurgers is that Dustbringers are already centered around self-mastery, so they may be too similar- but that's an issue for another day. Nice job! I like that adjustment too! Originality is always a plus. Rustbringers are also very original, I like the new take on Truths- societal, personal, and now natural truths. I like this. I'd like a bit more elaboration, but it's a strong start. As long as it doesn't become too Truthwatcher-ish. Lots of elaboration here, nice! Not many explain their True Spren so closely, good work with the roles during history and conflict with other Orders.
  17. Was this confirmed? I thought all we had to go off of was the Voidbinding Chart, which is in-universe IIRC, and therefore can be wrong. That seems fun, but insanely difficult. If this turns out to be true or we get more evidence, I'm happy to start theory charting, but it seems incredibly unlikely. No. Ruin specifically has agency over Hemalurgy, Preservation has agency over Allomancy, and it requires the both of them to do anything relating to Feruchemy. The mists weren't creating more Feruchemists, and Ruin wasn't weakening TLR or strengthening Sazed. Yet, Ruin was strengthening Hemalurgy or Harmony had the ability to weaken Hemalurgy (meaning Ruin/Preservation had control over it) and Preservation was able to Snap people into Allomancers. Fun idea maybe, but Hemalurgy is an Invested Art (undisputable) and Ruin had control over it (maybe disputable, probably not). I had written a lot more, but alder had managed to say basically what I was going to say, but I just wanted to elaborate in a way that showed some in world examples and my excitement for if this theory is true. (also my confusion with the voidbinding part)
  18. You're welcome! Edit: Just noticed, I think this was my hundredth post. Hooray.
  19. True, Windrunners were used as the main military air force and the Skybreakers were mainly used for quick travel to maintain law in various areas and maintain it with a very firm grip. Doesn't matter that much, I just like fleshing ideas out to their maximum potential.
  20. My eyes are moderately brighter. Hooray.
  21. Nice! I feel like the mention of friendly rivalry with the Windrunners should have a mention of Skybreakers as well (and other self-made Gravitation orders). I'd like to see the Ideals once you get good ideas to make them, maybe relating to 'seeing all' or 'resisting blindness' in a metaphorical sense? Good work!
  22. Good work! I like the base concept. My only minor issues with it are with the more truth-based Ideals, as that could potentially overlap with Truthwatchers, but since we don't have those yet, it's all good (but might seem strange later on, once we have Truthwatcher Ideals). I like the Lightweaver-inspired part, though. Overall, great work, I'd like to see more from you.
  23. Nice job! Well rounded, I like the lore bits at the end, they make sense. Good work on the Resonance and Surge Combo. Great work. I can't access the spreadsheet right now, nor do I (think) I have editing permission. Argenti will have to update it himself. I'd wager the same, just look for Argenti's most recent post on this thread and he should have everything covered before that. Lifelighters, Notetakers, and Peacespeakers will probably be the only ones not included.
