Always good to plan ahead! Consider it done. If Tani's funeral does become extremely explosive, we may charge you for the extra fees beyond the regular dynamite count.

Each metal is a magic system
Voidmaker replied to in Truth, watcher of tv's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Ah, okay. That makes sense, I understand now. To add-on to the original topic, if I had to guess I'd pair Odium with Zinc. This one leans more into the Shardic Intent since we don't know much about Voidbinding or anything relating to Odium besides the Unmade. However, considering things like the Nergaoul and Ashertmarn, either Zinc or Brass could work. Considering the Shardic Intent I'd place it under Zinc- especially since Voidlight apparently makes all emotions STRONGER when inside a Singer. Not sure how it lines up Feruchemically. -
Each metal is a magic system
Voidmaker replied to in Truth, watcher of tv's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Maybe so. Either way, doesn't matter that much. Just some parallels to consider- we really don't know that much about the Intents and how it applies to the Shard itself that much, so I can only guess. Good theorizing though. Allomancy is fueled by Preservation's power, directly. That's why it's end-positive, the power is coming from somewhere else, leaving your original abilities after the Metal ran out or is no longer burned unchanged. If a Push-based Metal removed the Connection, then you would have no benefit from burning a Push-based Metal, as you can't access the power of Pres. The Push and Pull is meant to use Preservation's power to affect objects, not Connection. A Pewter Push ends up Pushing your body to be stronger, and a Tin Pull ends up Pulling your body to be weaker- more sensitive, for example. -

Don't have much to contribute, but you might be able to flip Cadmium and Bendalloy by how it affects everything OUTSIDE the bubble instead. Preservation definitely didn't preserve himself well, he ruined himself to preserve OTHERS by the whole Well of Ascension trap and The Mists. Ruin's entire goal was to get the Atium without letting anybody else have it, he wanted to preserve himself so he could ruin OTHERS. Don't know if this means much of anything, but it makes Cadmium of Ruin, since you are making time faster for the OTHERS, and Bendalloy for Preservation, since you are making time slower for OTHERS. Sorry for the wild emphasis on 'OTHERS'. -
You should note the fact that he is considered a god, not that he is explicitly said to be one. The Shards themselves are millions of times more powerful than Kelsier is. Are you aware of how Cognitive Shadows work? That should clue you in on what's going on. If not, make sure you're caught up on all the Mistborn series, including Secret History. I don't know how far you've read, so I'm hesitant to give you direct answers.

i'll just assume dynamite. That should be fine. Edit: Okay, minimum safe distance for dynamite is 70 feet. According to google, at least. Consider it done.

Oh. That makes sense. What should I set the minimum safe distance to?

Well, If I don't do the paperwork, then there is no minimum safe distance. And I still don't know how to do paperwork...

ADULTS CAN DO THAT???? Man... I don't know how to do paperwork yet... I really should have considered that before I tried to start a funeral service.

Sounds good to me. Explosives or deliberate arson is hard to choose between sometimes. ...I wish I came up with that idea first. I'll 'borrow' it! Also, you better get the paperwork done, so adults can come here without being classified as invaders! Since you're an adult, only you can do paperwork. Totally not putting the work off to somebody else...

Everybody gets a funeral! Even if you're an invader.... Cremation or funeral is the real question. Do you want an open casket or closed casket? Should we invite other adults? Or do you want only your previous club members around?

I hope sooner rather than later... that'll be annoying when I become an adult one day. Also, should we normalize holding funerals for those who were once a part of this group and have now adulted? Seems fun to me. Gotta give a proper goodbye to youth and all that. I'd prefer cremation for my youth, please and thank you

Oh no! Well, at least we can join them again eventually- they're probably holed up in the Adult Club, struggling with the strange concept known as 'taxes'.

Don't feel too bad- soon, the original starters of this club will be forced out. Then we can head over to the Adult Club, and wreak havoc LEGALLY!

I've got a good 40-ish months until I'm banned from here, and since I JUST found this place, might as well make my presence known. Hello, non-adults!

How bad was I spoiled about a certain shard...
Voidmaker replied to IchigoBlade's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, it's a fun theory, but don't sweat it. Not enough evidence IMO. I'll let you take your pick on the theory itself, but I'd recommend just dismissing it for now. It wasn't a theory made by an actual character, so it doesn't affect much. You're good. Sorry for the panic, though. Imagine how chaotic the timeline would be if Taravangian-Odium actually occurs... guess we'll see if these theories are right in the fifth book. Hope not, though, that'd probably be a nightmare. Stay out of comment sections next time, though- you might actually get a Sanderlanche ruined by a real spoiler. Have fun with Oathbringer! Edit: I forgot to answer that last bit at the end, so here: I avoid spoilers like the plague, but luckily, If I ever find out a spoiler on anything, usually I can forget about it in a few days. Gotta love a bad memory sometimes. -
That's good to know. I've seen some moderators in some communities get really power hungry and salty... glad to know I won't have to worry about that here.

I don't remember the interludes that well, to be fair, but I'm pretty sure that one interlude featuring the Worldhoppers at the Purelake was my favorite. Stormlight was my first cosmere book series, so I knew they were important but I didn't know how and that was really interesting to me. Sorry for the late response, by the way. I had a pretty packed day after school.
-
Hello all! Sorry for the lack of responses, was actually doing my schoolwork inbetween lurks. @Cash67 it'd probably be one of the Metallic Arts or Awakening. If I had to pick one of the Metallic Arts in specific, Feruchemy. I've always considered it to be one of the best Invested Arts.

Ah, that makes sense. Never read Wheel of Time- I probably will eventually. Thanks for the info.

Hello! Is there some sort of trend I'm unaware of? You both have 'Sedai' as a part of your names. Is there any reason for that, or did you just decide to do it randomly?
-
Nice to meet you too, @Robin Sedai!

I'm an ex-lurker now, relatively new here overall. Been scanning the forums for 2 months best, and decided to make an account because why not. For any related questions, I have read all Cosmere books beside Tress (I think). Getting it on April! Just for confirmation on things, I have read Mistborn Era 1 (TFE, TWoA, HoA) Mistborn Era 2 (AoL, SoS, BoM, TLM), all Stormlight books (TWoK, WoR, O, RoW) and the novellas (Edgedancer, Dawnshard), and Elantris, Warbreaker and White Sand's Omnibus. Lastly, I've read the entirety of Arcanum Unbounded (The Emperor's Soul, Hope of Elantris, Eleventh Metal, Allomancer Jak, Secret History, Shadows for Silence, Sixth of the Dusk). Hopefully I'm not forgetting anything, and being honest I just wanted to count up all the books I've read at this point. Main point of this being, hello all! I probably will continue to lurk, just with an account.

Hoid's immortality is definitely caused by something else. Breaths do extend lifespan, but he does not have nearly enough to reach anything close to immortality via Breaths.
