  1. Wow! Great job! Was it written in the Steel Alphabet? If so it'd be nice if you could post the phonetic equivalents to English, since we don't know them yet. This is super cool!
  2. I tend to think that Hoid has lerasium, but that the lerasium is not the element. It seems almost trivial. It makes Hoid or whoever he gives it to powerful, but one bead won't change the course of history in the Cosmere. The element seems like it would be a little more special to me. I could be off base of course.
  3. I don't think that's possible. Firstly you cannot steal Breath. The second point is that the Divine Breaths are useless for Awakening as far as we know. It seems impossbile that they could be given to someone else without doing their whole healing thing. A process is mentioned in the book wherein the Breaths are forged into the steel, so this could be significant. It only takes 1000 Breaths to make a Sentient Biochramatic Manifestation in a Non-Living Object. However Vasher says that in order to do this you have to be of the Ninth Heightening. I think specialized Commands and the appropriate power level are the only prerequisites, not Divine Breath. It's a good idea though.
  4. Do you have a quote for that? I don't believe I've ever read that interview, and if I have, I'm forgetting it right now.
  5. Umm, we don't know very much about the Manywar and the events leading up to it, so at this point it's still very much a mystery. However, it could be that they both gave up their lives (in accordance with this theory) for the same thing at the same time and thus Returned together. Brandon's going to delve into Nalthis's history a little more in Nightblood, so hopefully these questions will be answered.
  6. I feel like I'm on drugs now... That was seriously insane
  7. Sounds like a plan. Hopefully the whole concept isn't rubbish.

  8. You're right Joe, it's probably too early to tell. They might not even have a demonym for themselves since they think that they're the only group of people on Scadrial.
  9. In my opinion they just wanted him to be seen coming. They were going for fear and shock here not surprise. The only thing I've ever wondered is how the Alethi knew the Parshendi were responsible for Gavilar's death. Gavilar himself sure didn't know who had sent Szeth. The only idea I had is maybe that the Parshendi made themselves look guilty by leaving right away. Also, I don't get how killing Gavilar could be them "saving or honoring him". You obey a man or commend him to honor him, and there isn't really any way to turn making a man fall several stories into saving him.
  10. Who's thinking my thoughts then? I think my brain might have just turned inside out. Or since my thoughts are actually an admin's thoughts, did your brain just turn inside out?
  11. In my opinion there are a couple problems with this. The first is that Wyrn is Fjordish, and their magic seems to be Dakhor, so if Wyrn is accessing any magic system it would be Dakhor. The second is that these stories will occur on different continents, a continent that the people in Elantris never mention and isn't under the dominion of Fjordell Empire. So the people in Elantris, including Wyrn, presumably don't know about this place. So I think it's a little unlikely, although not impossible, that Wyrn would be using a magic system from a place that he doesn't even know exists. Another problem is that Forgery appears to have next to nothing to do with foresight. It appears to be all about transforming and creating objects from what we have seen. The final problem I see comes from this quote by Brandon: So it seems Wyrn may hold a Splinter of Dominion, or maybe be a Sliver. However, Seons and Skaze seem to be Slivers too, and they're nowhere near powerful enough to have a magic system. I hope this doesn't come across as harsh, in my opinion isn't just isn't a likely possibility. I hope I haven't offended you.
  12. I'll be up for a cookie anytime :P It would be nice if we get get most of the major articles finished before the influx of new info from SA2. I figure between us and Joe (and anyone else who wants to help!) we can get it pretty shipshape over summer. Oh summer is also when I'll probably join MBI. I've got a character concept all ready to go.

  13. Oh for the days when the only races on Scadrial were skaa, noble, and Terris. I'd say that Wax probably falls into noble, considering he is a descendant of Breeze and Allriane who were both nobles and he also rules a noble house. Wayne could probably be Terris, since he apparently looks enough like one that he could imitate a Terris butler. The problem is that I'm not sure how much the old terms for races apply anymore. The nobles and skaa were mostly homogenized in the Final Empire. I don't even know if skaa still exist anymore. Until we get more information, I'd go with Wax as a noble, and Wayne as Terris.
  14. I don't think the intent is stripped out of the physical form of a Shard. It appears that you are using the Power of Creation theory as the basis for your argument. This is just a theory, and there are many who believe that the Power of Creation is just the Shards. If atium is not of Ruin, then why would he become weaker when atium formed? That clearly shows that all the power the atium gives comes directly from Ruin's available store, whether or not he is actually in turn taking power form the Power of Creation. Does that make sense?
  15. Yeah, the type categories are difficult for Awakening. There appears to be energy expended but the Breath never gets weaker and appears to remain the same. It looks good to me. Prerequisites works better then the category I had.
  16. Thank you! Now that I've figured out how to get the wiki to do what I want things are easier. Expect more articles regularly in about a month and a half, when school is no longer killing my joy.

  17. Oh, no I totally agree, those were just some ideas for categories I was throwing out. We probably need more information about the magic before we try them out. Also, I thought that the essay in the end of AoL implied that it was the form of the metal that allowed the magic to be accessed. So the power accessed would be based off of form but the focus would be metal. I could be wrong about this though.
  18. I guess you guys didn't realize that those spikes work both ways. Just as you control my every action, I can see your thoughts steal ideas to make my own.
  19. I find myself agreeing with you Chaos. I had no idea that there was a separate Alethi box for characters until I actually attempted to edit Kaladin. If we had a unique info box for every race it might be more useful. But to have on special case info box seems strange and it might confuse casual people who are trying to edit the wiki. I tend to think we should just have general info boxes for everything. So one for characters, places, items, religions, and etc. The only problem is that we don't have much info on those things, so they might end up being not so useful. Also, does a magic info box seem like a good idea? It could fall like this. Allomancy Powered by: Preservation Focus: Metal Form-Based End-Positive Accessed through: Snapping Origin World: Scadrial
  20. I don't see the need for another Shard being involved at all. Also why Deception? It's a cool name to be sure but from what I see this Shard has never been hinted at in any of the Cosmere books. Also we have no idea how the ability to use Forgery is obtained. The fact that it's about deceiving someone should have nothing to do with the Shard's intent. Intents only have an effect on how a magic is obtained. So if we knew you had to be a liar to use Forgery, I'd say, "Sure, that sounds like Deception". But since we don't know that, we can't really guess what Shard is involved.
  21. I would like to announce that you might be a Sharder if you unconsciously capitalize Harmony every time you write/type it.
  22. Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to make sure the new one was noticed. I think the Alethi character infobox template will have to be edited to allow for images. It doesn't appear to be working, probably because it's separate from the default character infobox. Also when I uploaded the Kaladin image the full web address is also in the comments box, unlike the Szeth one you fixed. I can't find any difference between the two, and it doesn't look great to have the code in there. I'm sorry that I'm so incapable...
  23. Okay, I'p uploading the Kaladin image, with a link back to our gallery. I can't find where Brandon originally posted it, so I think it'll do for now.
  24. Well, I think if we we're ever going to do a theory award, there should be two. One would be for having a theory directly confirmed to be true, whether by Brandon or a book or some other credible source. So for example Link would receive that award for his Taravangian theory. The other would be for having a theory that is showcased in the Featured Theory section. The Featured Theories section is going to happen sooner or later. I would like to note that these are just ideas at this point, and not confirmed to be happening.
  25. ^And that is why you're invaluable to this site. Is there any specific process to linking to the source? I can't find the option when I upload something.
