I just had an interview for a job at Costco. It took a lot less time than I thought it would, and now idk what to do with my day.
So I made the sensible decision and drove to Barnes and Noble.

I had a spare N95 ventilator mask from deck work today, so I tried to use that and my airsoft gear to put together a The Division (online looter-shooter I used to play) cosplay.
It did NOT work. The kind of mask I'm using absolutely failed to capture the same vibe as the respirator that my character wore.
I'll try again once I have a respirator that looks about the same as the one I had in the game.

Attention writers! (@Kajsa, @Edema Rue, @Thaidakar the Ghostblood)
I have found a magazine that I am, for their November issue, going to a submit a short story to.
https://www.silversunbooks.com/
Their rules for writers can be found here and their rules for illustrators can be found here.
Over the next few months I'll be brainstorming and then writing my submission, and I'll post all of how it goes in my SUs. At the moment, I'm thinking about writing from the POV of a ghost in a ruin, quietly watching one or more people explore it.

@Edema Rue can you not submit if you’re a minor?

Opinion of the day #34: It's weird when people, even streamers, use the term "chat" in reference to the other people they're engaging with, even if it literally is their Twitch/YT/whatever platform text chat. It just rubs me the wrong way.

Opinion of the day #33: Sanderson is... kinda overrated. Yeah, he's great at worldbuilding, magic systems, and his characters are great, but everything else is just okay. His prose is, to me, bland, and every book follows the same format of lots of build-up BIG CLIMAX resolution. I understand that that's kind of the standard for writing, but it's the exact same thing every single time. In SA, for example, there's not four of little climaxes building up to an enormous climax in book 5, but four big climaxes that I think will dilute the impact of the end of book 5. In addition, his books tend to be meandering and a bit convoluted to the point that sometimes when I think that I've cracked a puzzle, I haven't even when I should have. "There's always another secret," yeah but I want to know everything about a world, and repeatedly throwing mystery boxes inside mystery boxes in my face gets frustrating.
All of that is not to say that Sanderson is a terrible writer. It's just that there are better writers. The reasons above are also why I don't read one Sanderson book after the other until I'm done with them.
(Don't kill me please I need to finish my book)

Is it just me, or did the Shard's UI change again? Just a little bit.

You know, maybe parents are on to something when they tell you not to stay up late. I didn't get into bed until like 0:40, and I am exhausted.
I desperately need to fix my sleep schedule.

(why won’t the emojis show up gosh darn it)
