  1. Since finishing The Dragon Reborn and experiencing Nightblood's abilities in the SA, I've been wondering what would happen if Szeth and Rand crossed blades. Here are the conclusions I have arrived at. 1.) Saidin/One Power is Investiture. In this instance, Callandor acts as a conduit for the One Power. When the two blades touch, NIghtblood draws Investiture from the True Source. Callandor is not destroyed, but instead of Rand drawing it's power, Nightblood does so. However, Nightblood may destroy the Sword that Cannot be Touched. If that happens, well, then Rand is dead. But, since there is no Cog/Spirit Realm in WoT, I don't think this is would occur. 2.) Saidin and the One Power are not Investiture. In this instance, I believe that Callandor would be destroyed, as there is nothing else for Nightblood to feed on. A few other things. The former theory is assuming that Tel'aran'rhiod is WoT's Cognitive Realm and the True Source is the Spiritual Realm. Which semi-works with the way the World of Dreams and the CR behave. You can die in both. You can channel/Surgebind/use other means of Investiture in both You can move freely if not easily between both. Things are present in CR/World of Dreams that are not present in the Physical Realm. Thoughts, Sharders?
  2. Neither have I. Never have I ever eaten mayonnaise.
  3. I know! It's so cool to have so many different perspectives on Sanderson's work. I'm trying to get a friend of mine, who's been reading Cosmere books longer than I have, to register.
  4. I'm newer than you. I was aware of the series for a while, but didn't start it until last year. Once I finished EotW, I borrowed via Libby the audiobook for The Great Hunt, and am now halfway through Kramer and Reading's production of The Shadow Rising. My younger brother owns the first six books, but I prefer the audiobooks. Though I might break down and borrow his copies if my hold on The Fires of Heaven doesn't come through soon. Dovie'andi se tovya sagain.
  5. Is it confirmed that the imprisonment of BAM is part of what caused the Deadeyes? I don't remember reading about that in SA.
  6. Got my 11 year old brother hooked on Mistborn, he's now asking when I'll buy the second
  7. Of course, in between shows there's always space to crack open a Cosmere book or two. Or ten
  8. Yeah that definitely sounds like something he would do, especially after
  9. I felt the same way reading Words of Radiance for the first time. But don't worry, there's a lot that happens in the chasms with those two.
  10. I think bluegrass a la "Cotton Eyed Joe" would fit Dumb Taravangian better. What would smart Taravangian sing? Or would he not do so at all?
  11. I'll definitely read those once I've gotten to Dawnshard and the last two Mistborn era 1 books. Looking forward to seeing all the different types of Investiture!
  12. The White Lion Chronicles. Don't remember who wrote them, but they're set on a version of Earth wherein Adam and Eve did not eat the fruit from the Tree of Good and Evil and thus they and there descendants live in a sinless world. I finished the first book a few days ago, it's a good start to a series. PS: will edit when I have time to say who authored them.
  13. Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls, Nutshell by Alice In Chains, Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths, or the Interstellar soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. I've plenty of music suggestions, 1,700 liked songs on Spotify certainly helps with that.
  14. Oops. Forgot about that part! Thanks
  15. I've noticed that Wit has capital-b Breaths, so I looked those up and found out there's a bunch of people from Nalthis on Roshar. So I may have spoiled some of Warbreaker for myself.
  16. I've seen it on different places here, and on YouTube in Sanderson's lectures from BYU the subtitles spell his name Kelsior.
  17. I've seen Kelsier spelled both the aforewritten way and Kelsior. Why is this? A little confused as he's the only character I've seen with a name spelt two ways.
  18. Good evening! I've been reading Sanderson books for a while now, and decided it was time to join this community, where I can ask questions and theorize about the wonders of the Cosmere! I have only read a few Sanderson novels; Stormlight 1-4, Edgedancer, and Mistborn: TFE. Obviously I need to finish Mistborn Era 1, but what should I read next? Elantris? Warbreaker? Life before Death, Radiant
