  1. Wow. I suppose that I should've expected an extended wait time, that or waited a little longer. But hey, it's a new Sanderson book and I didn't find out about the project until backing was over. Eh, I've waited for things before, I'll wait now. Though I should just download the ebook.
  2. If you could talk to any character from The Silmarillion, who would it be and what would you say to them?
  3. Hm. I think I'll do one of the earlier prompts. Stars Have Secrets.
  4. Nope. Have you ever watched the OG Battlestar Galactica?
  5. I didn't like Oathbringer until this scene. Second only to Kal swearing the Third Ideal in Words of Radiance.
  6. I agree with all of this. I always pictured Sadeas as being a bit (okay, a lot) like Benedict Cumberbatch. He has the same "I'm so smart and manipulative and I will rule this kingdom" energy that Cumberbatch's Sherlock does. Paul Bettany would be perfect for Pattern, especially seeing as that's a voice-only role.
  7. J is for Jah Keved
  8. If you could live in one fictional world for 72 hours, which one would it be and why?
  9. What are you listening to right now?
  10. Alright, thank you!
  11. I'm trying to get more of my friends to read Stormlight, but when I told them how long the books are the responses were mostly "How do you have time to read a 1300 page book?" So yeah, now everyone I know knows that I'm an enormous nerd.
  12. That's awesome. Were you the only person in that class that'd read Sanderson?
  13. There is not. I have yet to do it, however. Totally should.
  14. I ordered TotES last week, and as far I know, it still has yet to ship. Is this due to Kickstarter/pre-orders/back-orders being fulfilled? Or is Dragonsteel just slow to ship?
  15. My little brother's classmates are, I think, a little frightened of him because his reading level is so far above theirs. I got back from my shift 45 minutes ago and the first thing out of his mouth upon seeing me come in the door was "Can I have The Way of Kings now?" He's been asking to read it for days. Ever since I suggested he read Mistborn, he's been asking about my other Branderson books. I was reading The Hobbit when I was eleven.
  16. I want to watch Arcane so bad! I, unfortunately, don't have Netflix. Big sad. I played Carcassonne earlier and it's my dad's birthday.
  17. Understandable. I'm still figuring out all the different formatting options.
  18. D is for Dawn's Shadow. (Obscure-ish place on Roshar)
  19. So. . .

Maybe I shouldn't allowed into bookstores unsupervised anymore. After class I went across the street to the Half-Price Books in my town and waited for my ride. For an hour.

During that hour, I perused the shelves. They carried Rhythm of War, which I already have; Knife of Dreams and Crossroads of Twilight, which I haven't gotten to yet in my WoT read through; the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn, which I decided I didn't need; and a ton of Pathfinder 1e supplements. I purchased none of those.

Slowly walking through, my earbuds blaring the Interstellar soundtrack, I made my way to the history section of the store. Stopping first in the military history corner, I inspected the shelved tomes, seeking one to buy. None I saw interested me, save for a $500 dollar one hundred thirty volume series covering the American Revolution. Leaving that area, I strolled to the world history section. There, fellow Sharders and Sanderfans, I took my haul.

Seeing that there were many books on the ancient empires, I inspected the titles. These are the seven I took from the shelves; Adrian Goldsworthy's biographies of Julius Caeser and Octavian Augustus, Mortal Republic by Edward J. Watts, Rome: Republic into Empire by Paul Chrystal, Rome by Robert Hughes, The Provinces of the Roman Empire by Theodor Mommsen, and History of the Peloponnesian War by the contemporary Greek historian Thucydides.

    My total?

    Almost one hundred dollars.

Moral of the story; never have me wait an hour inside a bookstore. I'd hate to see how much money I'd have spent at Barnes & Noble.

  20. @Cellit here are the ten questions. What is your favorite non-quadrupedal animal? What is your favorite color? How did you discover Sanderson's works? How many push-ups can you do in one set? Who would win; Gandalf the White or Dalinar at the Third Ideal? Do you think aliens are real? If so, how do you think first contact will go? What is your favorite movie? What is the longest book you've ever read? If you could use one magic system, what would it be? What Radiant order would you be in? Have a stormin' good day!
  21. So is there no limit on how fast Nightblood can draw investiture?
  22. Ah. So if Callandor is simply a highly invested object, it probably would go the way @alder24 stated in his above post.
  23. I forgot about that part. Is an Honorblade Invested or is it, like Callandor is for Saidin, a conduit of sorts?
