  1. You're welcome! Unoriginality doesn't mean it's bad. And there's a reason combos like that and "drow rogue," "human fighter," and "hill dwarf barbarian," exist. They work well. Which are you considering, if any?
  2. I have all of Stormlight (sans novellas), TFE and WoA, Tress, and Frugal Wizard. And the last three WoT books, but those don't 100% count as Brandon books, imo.
  3. Chessex sells a pound of dice (which is 80-100 assorted dice), for about 30 bucks. In addition to the assortment it always includes one complete seven-piece* set of dice, just in case. They also have normal dice sets for $12. Crooked Tavern has a LOT of super cool, seven-piece sets for around ten dollars. Dice Envy also has a ton of really cool dice sets, but theirs come in tens, so they are just a touch more expensive than Crooked Tavern. And because of the way their website is set up, you have to be careful that you're ordering a whole set, and not just one dice. Your local B&N as well as table-top shops will also have a bunch of different dice sets, so browse around there as well. *a standard dice set will almost never be less than seven pieces: a d4, a d6, a d8, a d10, a percentile dice, a d12, and a d20. What class and race are you playing?
  4. Nope. TPBM is in college.
  5. I had a migraine during my and my girlfriend's first anniversary date last night. Ended up puking a ton and having to go to an urgent care. Yippee 😐

Fortunately, I'm feeling a lot better now.

  6. I have to use AI in one of my assignments, and I feel like what Gemini gave me was written by someone who is annoyingly cheerful.

  7. ATTENTION EVERYONE. I HAVE JUST LEARNED IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

Hayao Miyazaki directed an anime adaptation of Anne Of Green Gables. All 50 (yes, fifty) episodes are on YouTube. I will find the link forthwith.

  8. Too sick to go to Accounting today, but we'll see how I feel by the time I need to go to my second class. Huzzah.

  9. I haven't read Warbreaker, so… probably not. TPBM has played Baldur's Gate 3.

  12. Ik that I promised a full review of The Witcher 3, but I'm too caught up in playing Gwent (the card game within the game) to write it.

I might go as far as to get an actual Gwent deck and teach people I know how to play.

@WhyEverNot_8 the games (there are three, haven't played the first) are set after the events of the books, working with a somewhat loose interpretation of the ending of The Lady of the Lake. It might sound a bit confusing, but the books are canon to the games, and the games are not canon to the books.

If you're interested in playing Wild Hunt, I highly recommend you play The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings first. That was my experience, and I believe it made Wild Hunt a lot better. Imo, both games really nailed the presentation of characters that appear in the books.

Ahhh, ok. I haven’t actually finished the Lady of the Lake yet lol. Thanks for telling me. (Also I doubt I could play the, yet because they’re most likely rated M)

Yeah, they're all rated M. With good reason. Although, it doesn't take away from the fact that they are great games.

  13. Yep! At my grandparents' farm in Missouri. TPBM listens to Not Another D&D Podcast.
  14. I don't use D&D Beyond, so no. A lot of my third party resources are either Kobold Press, from the DM's Guild, or are homebrew designed by myself or one of my players.
  15. I beat The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt a few days ago.

It is the best game I've ever played. A longer review will be posted later.

  16. I poured SO many hours into Civ IV when I was younger. I still play it with my dad from time to time.
  17. Opinion of the day #38: Not Another D&D Podcast is better than Critical Role.

      i haven’t listened to either

      Hm.

      Hmmmmmm.

Naddpod is less family-friendly, but funnier.

Ig it depends on a couple things: the kind of stories you want, your tolerance for language and crassness (there's not a ton in either, but it's a bit more prevalent in naddpod), and how large of a backlog you're willing to listen to. I highly recommend both, but I prefer naddpod.

Dimension 20 is another actual play that's super popular, and it has interplay with both naddpod and Critical Role. However, it's only available with a subscription to Dropout, so I haven't listened to any of it.

(Why? You are a nerd, after all. Also, you lose the game)

  18. Have you lost The Game today?
  19. That's what makes them so great, imo. They do not act logically (not 100% of the time, at least), because they are very human characters. I am one of the few people who doesn't believe in "The Slog" of the middle few books. I only noticed it in The Path of Daggers and in Crossroads of Twilight. I also enjoy a slow story, so WoT was perfect for me. I'm actually rereading it right now.
  20. If you dislike reading the series as much as it seems to me that you do, why are you reading it?
  21. The thing about being (mostly) Scottish is that there is a clan tied to my last name. That clan has a coat of arms. For Christmas, I got that coat of arms as a wax seal. Today, I used it to seal my girlfriend's birthday gift, and the note I wrote her.

    Wax seals are so fun.

Wax seals are the best. I have, in fact, created my own arms. (Unfortunately, there's really no such thing as a universal family crest. 1) they're not crests--crests are the part of the arms above the shield, and 2) they're not hereditary)

Clans are a thing though. Did you know Utah has a state tartan?
