Just watched a touring Broadway performance of Hamilton…
*sighs deeply in satisfaction* Hamilton isn’t at all my favorite musical, but I still like it and I haven’t seen a play in a while.
Their Aaron Burr was incredible, he had an awesome voice and all of his songs were beautifully done.
Their Hamilton and Eliza played their characters super young, which was awesome and interesting for Act 1 and a little awkward for Act 2.
OH the part where Phillip (iz dat how spelingz) died had this sense of urgency and despair that I didn’t feel in the Broadway version, at least not the recorded one, and that was probably one of my favorite scenes.
Anyway

I’m really stressed out, and there are a lot of negative emotions that have taken up residence in my head. It’s kind of been that way for the last few days, but I’m trying to hope that tomorrow will be better.
But storms, I’m tired of being lonely.

…on the note of classical music, Beethoven’s 9th symphony and Shostakovich’s 5th. Both are so powerful, especially as you learn the context and try to understand the composers. -
I think different stories need to be told in different mediums, and this includes tense. That being said, I think it was Jeanne Cavelos who said that 3rd person is the most intimate way to write a story, the way that lets you connect to the characters in the deepest ways, and I agree. And since characters are almost always what I love most about a book, 3rd person is usually my favorite.
