  1. what's the emulsifier? You're gonna need something really, really strong in order to hold those two together. For example, Plotblade was needed to alloy Mordite and Nullite, and they're a lot more similar than Mordite/Luxite. They would not want to mix. kk that might work. depends on how far away he is. There was a weird interference. The needle moved back and forth, rapidly spinning in circles at some times, sometimes pointing at Symbol, sometimes pointing at Rebus, and sometimes pointing directly away from the door.
  2. Is he at Eof's house? If so, I missed that. Also, to clarify, the idea itself is sound. there could, however, be things that interfere with the application. It wouldn't work very well at a moderate to large distance, for example. it needs to be pretty short range. honestly, I don't think Dark-Light or Chaotic-Order could feasibly exist. However, it could an alloy of some of the other stuff on the Axes. it might be something akin to Prismite, but it got alloyed with something that makes it incredibly chaotic and reactive.
  3. I wholeheartedly agree on music. I am the kind of person that listens to music all the time, and it's a problem, so I've been spending more time without it. it's been really nice. it helps that my sister has moved back home, so I can talk with her more. I realized I'm using music just to fill time, which realistically is really bad for me so I've been not doing that
  4. I assume you're pinging me about heir's post. it should work, leading you away from any Darkalloy. how useful it'll be? we'll see
  5. good news. today was only mostly a waste. I didn't do much, but I know have a picture of me with my state's Speaker of the House. I also got my debate coach to agree to dye his beard. other than that, not much was done

Unpopular opinion…when they’ve told you that’s how they’re judging you, I think that’s a great idea. I think that brilliant content is worthless when presented incompetently (not saying you’re incompetent, just using both extremes). Effective communication is both crucial and undervalued, which is rather ironic.

May you do better next year o7

that's not an unpopular opinion, as far as I'm aware. It's just not how I personally think most debates should be judged. in this case, it's the whole point of the tournament, so it makes sense. in most cases, I think content is far more important that presentation. Presentation plays a major role, because if your judge can't understand you, you don't win, but it shouldn't be what most things are primarily judged on.

no, that's not newbie judges. That's how it's supposed to be judged. it's the Reagan Great Communicator Debate Series. I think it's a fine thing, it's just not how I debate and I'm not good at it. there is some judging on content, but it's more about how you present your content than the content itself

Oh- I know you weren't talking about newbie judges; I was just going off on a little side tangent there :D

      Ohhh I see

      Well huh

      *hug*

I'm sorry you didn't do too well

  6. guys, I accidentally fell asleep with still too much to do to go to bed. That was like 5 hours ago. Now I have to do it 😭

it was a good nap though. My neck hurts more though, so 🤷‍♂️

  7. The universe seemed to shrug. Eof's house was notoriously hard to get into while he wasn't there.
  8. I feel so smart. Trusk'our pinged me in a cosmere discussion thread to thank me for making a comment that helped contribute to a theory :D

  9. I would guess that Heraldic abilities would still fit in this framework. Perhaps the Investiture is being stored and then released in a shorter, more powerful burst? Fused Investiture could be tied up in hard-coded things like Surgebinding like you mentioned, but my mind goes to their ability to use some powers without expending Voidlight (ex. the Heavenly Ones flight). That might be their natural Investiture getting used in a hard-coded manner. It's been too long since I read Yumi for me to comment too much on Yoki-hijo, but it seems like they might experience some Heightening-like effects. They seem to have an unnatural sense of how things would balance (to me, at least), and there's probably some other things like that. In addition, we might not see them in the book because much of Yumi's Investiture is tied up preserving her natural body when she's Nikaro's city. Radiant Spren do seem to have Agelessness (IIRC), and possibly other benefits I don't remember.
  10. There was certainly something there, she just didn't know what it was.
  11. It was none of the above. If anything, it felt much more similar to a Plotblade.
  12. The door did not set on fire. It seemed Eof's house had quite to protection to it. There was still no response though.
  13. The some of the Nullite boxes were empty. Most didn't have an opening where she could get in. Eof's house was locked. Perhaps knocking would help.
  14. she checked the other Voids, which were not all of the unfeelable spots. One of them was Eof's house. Another was the Wall. Then there were several random Nullite boxes.
  15. ... good luck with that. one does not simply kill the Witherlord well... It would be interesting not going to check the other spots she couldn't feel?
  16. do you remember the shard that was following tam and broke Rebus' Plotblade? Platypus just created that (50 pages before he showed up). It was a flashback. He used specific amounts of Nullite, Mordite, and a Plotblade to create something very close to pure Dark. Luxite is definitely not uncontrollable. Perhaps the Witherlord couldn't control an alloy, but I think he probably could honestly. do you have a plan to banish him? I'm not worried about him molding the cage, I'm worried about him getting it right. he gets one chance. AH HA! Will I finally get to see Xinoehp? Correct! You could think of it as a God Metal from the cosmere with Plot as the shard, or compare it to a Narrationblade. They're pretty similar. As for what Plot's soul is, I think we established that it is basically the combination of the Four Axes (Light, Dark, Order, Chaos) all compiled into one. *Plot was a character a long time ago. He died. He was the physical embodiment of the idea of plot I promise you, you do not. It would take a lot to prevent the Thread (and then everything else) from being destroyed. I think Nameless has, I bet Xino has, Zephrun might've? They were not necessarily all Voids. That one specifically had been, but there were other reasons someone couldn't feel a part of the Thread. Eof's house, for example, was quite tricky to feel. The Wall couldn't be felt. Voids couldn't be felt. Many things could cause that. Even so, each Void she tried to fill up refused to yield. It took Creation to remove the Void, and duplication didn't count. tada
  17. I'm just gonna tell you now, there is a high likelihood of him dying if he tries to summon the Witherlord. IIRC, Thaidakar, Nameless, Moni, and more all almost died the last time the Witherlord was released/summoned. It's going to be very difficult to contain him (Luxite can do it, but only if you do it right, and I would all but guarantee he would do it wrong (nothing against him, he just doesn't have that experience at all)), and combine that with the presence of plenty of other things that could go wrong, summoning the Witherlord is what most people would call a terrible idea. If it give you any idea, there are only a few things that Platypus is genuinely scared of, and the Witherlord is one of them, with Mordite (which the Witherlord can control) being another. Hoid would be scared of the Witherlord. I'd at least recommend you don't summon him while Platypus is crazy, cuz they will end up in the same room, and bad things would happen from there.
  18. It wasn't clear. Perhaps this was simply an area where the Void between worlds was coming through because nobody had been there for long enough. The Void between worlds was not a fun place. Platypus had been there. alloys work. Hacob is missing rn - Symbol is looking for him, and Platypus is kind of being evil, so... probably not the best time - About 50 pages before Platypus first showed up again - Platypus pulled on his goggles. If his calculations were correct, this should work. He'd been wrong before, but this should be the right about of each element to pull it off. He grabbed a small chunk of Mordite, careful not to cut himself (stupid Mordite wounds take forever to heal), and put it over a device that left it hovering in a vacuum. Grabbing a small piece of Nullite, he put it over a second vacuum device nearby. Then, he took the final piece - a small tiny piece of Plot's, no, his Blade, and he put it over a third vacuum device. After that he waited. He had been in the Dark region for long enough he could recognize it, but he was too excited to stay there for long. After a long enough time, dwelling on his failures, his mistakes, and the mistakes of the Thread, he was there. He was in Dark, and he was in tune with Vengeance. Now was his chance. His precautions had been taken, and the worst-case scenario wasn't that bad, so it was go time. He grabbed a set of pliers, forged from the melted Plotblade Character (yep, he has that one), and carefully brought the pieces right next to each other. By applying heat and pressure at the exact right amounts, the metals melted. Normally, they wouldn't mix, but through in a bit of Vengeance and some Ideal-Matching... and... A blast tore apart his lab, throwing Platypus backwards. Failure again he thought, but as he looked up, he saw it. A Dark shard of metal. It was quite difficult to see as very little, if any, light reflected off of it. It seemed to have interesting properties. There would be time to test them later. For now, while he was still this Dark, he would need to make more. FYI, for those wondering, this would (in theory) work with any Plotblade, but it would take different amount of the Plotblade (and some would work better with some alloys).
  19. She remembered that there had been several patches she couldn't feel. Perhaps Hacob simply hadn't been in that one.
  20. There was simply Void. An infinite, yet somehow limited, expanse of Void stretched out before her.
  21. There was simply Void, as far as could be filled, and farther.
  22. There wasn't much there. In fact, there was nothing. Just Void.
  23. Hacob's Author had figured everyone hadn't noticed/forgotten because normally people would engage. There was a section of the Thread she couldn't feel at all. Well, there were several, but only a few new ones.
