  1. That was kind of embarrassing for her. now I have to go find it (Except I totally won't cause I'm too lazy). I know it was about when Magnificent Bastard broke She(?) arrived in an empty field.
  2. Platypus had said he'd gone missing. His Author had made a post about him a while ago...
  3. The empty void didn't respond. Perhaps her Author remembered a little about what Platypus had said about Hacob?
  4. Platypus was not at the party. This should be considered a good thing. Neither was Hacob, oddly enough. He'd usually come to things like that, if just to annoy people. Quite strange. - About 150 pages ago - Platypus walked around, taking a break outside. His idea for the emulsifier seemed to work, but it wasn't quite right. He had managed to combine a few, but they weren't stable. They'd quickly broken apart. Still, it was progress. Perhaps... perhaps he simply needed to be like the material. He could change. He didn't have enough pure Luxite to make Light, so it was time for Dark experiments. First, he would need to leave behind something in case it went wrong. He didn't like being an Ennuller, and he'd never tried being a Withergeist, so if something was wrong... that'd be bad. Eof... yes, Eof would work. He would drop it off with Eof.
  5. oh, I pretty much only know what was in the blog posts. I've maybe talked to Xino about a little more than that, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. honestly, even if things break established lore in the future, it's TLT. everything can break established lore. In all my time before Glass and Haly showed up, I think we maybe had one Ennuller appearance. It just depends on who's doing what. I'm pretty chill about what happens on TLT honestly, so I'm not too worried about it dying or something like that. yeah, I've seen that before.
  6. well, the main people I think of are Nameless (who's not here), Xino (who's not here), and Thaid (who's banned). Normally, I personally would wait til Nameless got back, but I'm very patient when it comes to plotlines, and most people are not. I think I'd be fine for it, I just think those three would be better. don't look too much at me. I don't have much experience with Luxsprites either. I think I probably have the most though, so I'm happy to do it.
  7. well... I can tell you it would be a terrible idea to go to Platypus about this, past or present. Honestly, I don't think I'm the best person to be the Luxsprite, but if you want me to, I'd be happy to. Fair warning, you will probably have to wait for a couple hours for each of my posts. You'll also need to quote/mention me in each post relating to that, because I pretty much only skim TLT besides the ones where I'm pinged/quoted.
  8. - About 300 pages ago - Creating Light hadn't worked. And now some of his very limited supply of Luxite was corrupted. Narrativium was easy to get, but Luxite wasn't. He gestured his hand, and Clemency began filling out paperwork. He'd need that to get more Nullite to continue experimenting. He waved his other hand, and Vengeance zipped from his shelf towards him, and he began slicing more samples of the Essences. He was getting closer. He could feel it.
  9. your list of if the Essences got their way seems pretty accurate. Probably somewhat like causing/preventing, but that still doesn't feel quite right. I'm just nitpicking though As for control, it'll still be kinda like that, but a little different. It makes more sense this way.
  10. I can't remember, what did I say as the reason Platypus controls the shards? Was it just that he was in roughly the same Axis as it? Cause that does work, but I came up with a better one, to add more of a reason.
  11. shucks well, I wasn't there for what you're talking about, but the Feanor plot was very central. Back in the day, we didn't have three plots going like you guys do. We'd have one, and if Thaid/Nameless/Xino/whoever else was running it hadn't posted yet, you just had to wait I think I like that better, hence my only really participating in one plot at a time (and pretty much ignoring all the others). yep. I've returned. - About 350 pages ago - Platypus stalked around his lab. The visit with Nowhere had been thoroughly unproductive. None of his ideas had worked. Combining using a third Essence as an emulsifier hadn't worked. Perhaps it would with other experiments (he suspected Narrativium would be the best for that), but it certainly didn't work with what he was trying to do. Eventually, he would find that balance where it would work. He was absolutely certain of that. Maybe... maybe that's what he needed to do. He would try that next.
  12. I know. I am actually probably not a good person though so hypothetically if I disagreed would you think I was a terrible person?
  13. my friend's leg was asleep, so I asked her which one, then proceeded to poke it as soon as she told me
  14. existence and emptiness I feel would be the closest, but still not quite. I don't really thing intensity and calm fits, I don't think that they would be doing/undoing because which does and which undoes, and I don't think life/death quite fits. action/inaction feels more like a chaos/order thing. oh, I am. and I think I'm making progress on convincing people of that!
  15. haven't I told ya'll that I'm a bad person? It was very unfortunate for her, then, that she was stuck behind the Wall. There was no response, as Platypus had already left, a long time ago. Dark and Light aren't quite creation/destruction that's more akin to Ordered Light and Chaotic Dark. It's kind of hard to describe exactly what each is. Nameless absolutely would think of that, and Nameless would do it. ah, right. if I recall correctly, which I probably don't, the Skeins were more like concentrated aspects of Ordered Light, not actual beings. They were manipulated by the Ennullers (I think) into forming the barrier that locks up the Witherlord. If that's what they are, they're not very much like the Witherlord (the mantle, or the actual current one). probably a good thing he realized. ... There wasn't much of a response to that.
  16. Platypus' Author committed to mind to call her Ladybug instead of Lady Bug.
  17. "I'm sure we'll find out. But for now, we've been talking long past when I canonically left, so bye." perhaps Both parts are quite simple, it's just doing them in the right order and the right things. (and I may have translated it incorrectly, who knows!) it does have some structure, and what you're hitting upon is why I decided to make it an alloy, rather than just pure Dark. It is quite difficult to be in only one Axis at once. I think I'll figure it out, but if you have ideas, you're welcome to tell them. kind of. He's a little different from the metals, but in theory, it should be possible. were those the ruler of the Luxsprites that are the Witherlord's generals now? Nameless has never once been helpful in the history of ever (at least, not to any of my characters) honestly, I'd be more worried about if they exist at all. Platypus is sometimes a Being of Ordered Light, but a) you would have to extract his core which he would not be happy about and b) just being a Ordered Light doesn't necessarily make him a Luxsprite. I think Xino and I came to the conclusion that he's mostly just a Being, not necessarily one of the four ones that we have names for. He would get used to it, in time. At that time it had been hundreds of years, and Platypus was barely making progress. But at least some progress had been made. Even more, now. there's usually a celebration of some sort on the thousand pages. the 500s too, but those are considerably smaller. Actually, Thaid's death post is on page 2500.
  18. he mixed Nullite with Mordite with a certain emulsifier. you'll see once I get to the flashbacks "It's not my goal. I'm quite fond of everything. I'm not a withergeist." "I would hope so. They're quite fascinating." "I do not desire Vengeance for myself, at least for now. I desire Vengeance for those that were hurt, those that were wronged." that's probably pretty accurate. it's a simple letter movement It has a little structure because it does lean more to Order than Chaos, but it is very close to pure Dark. However, not being of Order does not mean that something can't exist (Narrativium and Mordite being prime examples). It is a little tricky to imagine though. yeah. I'll think of something so that they still fit what happened, but I can explain the properties later (once I've got them fleshed out). I'm not quite sure what you're talking about being done to Platypus, but almost certainly. ah. I see what you mean. Not each of the shards is the exact same alloy, but I should have been more consistent with them. But also, Platypus may or may be quite similar to the Witherlord rn. wait, which of Nameless' medallions can do that? There are too many to keep track of. I have to assume it's a different one from the one Subversion used in a duel with Platypus. good luck getting anything from the Witherlord or anything from a Luxsprite. They're not exactly... common. - Roughly 400 pages ago - Platypus paced in his lab, deep within his stronghold. The clues weren't adding up. Feanor had left some things, but it wasn't working. The samples weren't mixing, and it was getting harder to acquire them pure. He looked around at the many scraps of metal littering the floor, and the explosion residue around them. He'd have to find the proper emulsifier.
  19. "Couldn't tell you." "Not that. A different thing. I already knew that would work." "I am its master now, not Plot." You're probably right, I'm just not used to Nullite mechanics. I was assuming it would be easy to move to follow Tam, but because it's (part) Nullite, it likely wouldn't be. I also hadn't quite hammered out all of the properties I wanted it to have. I don't think corrosion is Dark, per se, I think it's closer to Chaos. Stopping everything from moving feels kind of like Order (like Preservation from Mistborn), and absorbing light would make sense. I was thinking of it as a black metal, kind of like onxy and obsidian combined, so was picturing it glittering, but absorbing light makes more sense. it is a two-stage cipher if that helps. there are probably some typos in it though I don't think Darkness would be prone to that. That seems like a Chaos thing to me. Darkness feels like it would be relatively stable. We can see the two Beings with Chaos (Narrators and Withergeists) are very destructive, while Ennullers and Luxsprites were/are not. I was trying to explain it simply, so my explanation isn't quite what happened, but is close enough for it to make sense-ish. it was about at a stopping point. From what I was imagining, you hadn't "fed" it very much Nullite - a small shard, then a core (which I pictured as another small shard). If the balance of the alloy was to be disrupted, it couldn't keep growing. There's a small range in which the alloy is stable, and because of the naturally non-reactive nature of Nullite, it doesn't want to become unstable. Ah. I see what you were saying. What would you like me to comment on? personally I am a big fan of surprise plans (but that doesn't mean I'm good at them), but I accept I'm an outlier. I'm not expecting people to move along, hence the conversation we've been having. I'm not saying you don't have a right to be annoyed. It can absorb Nullite (and potentially Mordite) because it is that alloy, and those substances like to be gathered. The way Heir explained it is probably better than I can verbalize it. it shattered Prismite because it basically pushed the box away from it, and the box pushed back, but since it pushed in all directions on the shard it couldn't move so the box had to. When it was just a piece of Prismite, it just pushed it away (kind of like an amped up magnet). Nullite is nonreactive, but when combined with Mordite (which is most certainly not), they really don't like the substances with Light in them. This particular alloy leans more towards Nullite (not by much), so its reaction with Prismite is more extreme that its reaction to Luxite. you're good, I understand where you're coming from. being here before you is no excuse to tread over you, but I appreciate it Glass. I don't think I changed the properties, did I? I should've telegraphed it a little more, you'll get some flashbacks later. Dark and Light naturally don't mix, hence the repulsion. In addition, this is not pure Dark, just close. It does skew slightly towards Nullite (more now that it's absorbed some). Also, holy crap you guys post fast, by the time I've addressed one post, three more have been posted
  20. I genuinely don't know how much more I can give you. that's not what I'm worried about. If I come up with a plan that I intend to be a surprise, I want it to be a surprise. It would've defeated the whole point of Thaid's Feanor arc if we'd known Darkness was a result of killing Thaid. a) it's not a mineral and b) I have said what it is. It is an alloy of Mordite and Nullite. I also said why he has some control over it, though he doesn't have complete control over it. The only things he's done with it is make it appear wherever Tam goes which wouldn't be hard, make it appear next to Narrators' feet, and move the ones by Tam and Bacon go to his feet. What other elements would you like me to explain how it fits with? What about the properties are questionable? I need you to be specific if you want answers to this. I'm trying to get to that, I'm just also trying to talk about all of this before I proceed. I wanted to get any anger and other emotions settled before I moved on.
  21. "A rule would be an unbreakable agreement, as far as I see it." see below. The reason he wants the swords is a major part of his plan, so I can't say too much, but he needs more. "Well, the killing wasn't the important part. It was the part before that." "Not at all what happened. I caused his death and took his sword as my trophy." So part of the reason that didn't happen is because I was confused, honestly. I thought that Rebus had swapped with Bacon, and it also took a lot of energy to bring the Blade and shard into contact. It can't infinitely destroy/consume Nullite or Mordite, but that was unclear. I'm not sure what the rest of that paragraph is about, but I can elaborate further if you could explain it to me. Some of the villains did that, and you're right, it would've been better if I'd done that. I just haven't been here recently, and am rusty. Plus, the shards were not intended to play a major role. first off, it's not fun for me. second, I did not originally want someone to break their plotblade on it, in fact, the shards weren't originally meant to play much of a major role at all. maybe some minor foreshadowing, but the real goal behind them was the note left behind after they were moved. I don't know what more you want me to do, other than signal something shouldn't be done. What more can I do, say "don't do this"? I'm trying to avoid it feeling like a hustle, but there's not much I can do that I haven't already done. Alright. To make a long story short, Platypus has been experimenting with combining the primal substances. The shard is an alloy of Nullite and Mordite. This was the first stable alloy he found. Very stable, practically indestructible. That should help explain some of the properties. Do you remember how he was basically shifting all across the axes? He had been thinking a lot about what Feanor said, and really dwelling on resentment from a few things (that aren't important), and in general, he'd been pretty solidly in the Dark section of the Axis. Finding and making this alloy basically cemented him in the Dark part of the Axis, and it isolated him in that section, keeping him away from anything else, including Order and Chaos. He'd been fighting it, feeling it was wrong, (that's why he spoke in Silence to Rebus, he'd managed to make it back to Order for a little), but he is stuck there. I'd like to avoid going into too many more specifics, but can if that's still unclear. as for the Blades, they're just the parts that make up that specific Plotblade. Most could be split that way. Love triangles would likely become something like Reject, Chooser, Chosen (or something like that). Just like Plot's blade was split into its aspects, they can be further split. The Nullite part of the shard Silenced the Connection to Rebus, and the Mordite basically killed the connection between the three parts that was holding them together. There's a little more to it than that, but that's the simple version. Either individually wouldn't have worked, but together they could.
  22. "Those are not rules. Any of those are options. They are guidelines, agreed to by the Authors. But they are not rules." He could, very likely, end up with them once more. They can't do anything, though I can understand why you'd feel that way. There is a reason that he has created and can control them, and you're quite close to it. I'd be willing to explain it further if you'd like. Have at with the daggers. That wasn't what I was think of for them, but those fit fine. "It would not have worked if you had known about it. The test could not have succeeded without you being unaware of it." At the last sentence, Platypus looked shocked. "Fought against? I was the one who caused the death of Plot! That is why I wield his Blade!" I was trying to signal you not to do it in the classic "DM way" with the "are you sure you want to do that?" He probably wouldn't have been as unaware as I am portraying him, but he likely wouldn't have been what I would call "prepared" for either, and certainly not both. Just to start, I don't care if someone is blunt to me, in fact, I appreciate it, so don't worry about it. I agree with much of what you said, but I do disagree with some things. 1, I disagree that frustrating other Authors is always something that should be avoided. I think that it can build ideas, and that it can make the RP a little bit more real. In general, I would agree, however, and it should usually be done with someone you know better than I know Heir, and for that I apologize. I again, would mention that I did try to warn him. It wasn't an in-world thing, that was directly from me. 2. Negative emotions can be something you want from RP, but in general, I would agree again. 3. I didn't think it was totally random. I believe that I've proposed the idea that Plot's energy was that of each of the 4 axes combined before here, and the shard had been shown to have major (or at least notable) reactions with at least two of them. In my head, it would make sense that it would either break or absorb the Plotblade, and break made more sense. Also, I didn't know that the Thread-state has been precarious lately. "I can't say. I can't give them any warning. They're probably already watching me, and they can't know for sure what I intend. And thus, I must go. Until we meet again, because I'm sure we will." Platypus disappeared. It does fit, at least in my head, but I can see how it seems random to you. I don't know what you mean by Thaid-style glimpses - from my recollection, we didn't get too many glimpses of what his villains planned (or any that I can think of). I have been very busy, and the mineral was a different thing from what he was testing with Rebus.
  23. The thread has had concrete lore for a long time. I wouldn't agree with what you're saying the soul is. I think that TLT fluctuates, and that it's in a plot time right now, but someday it will go back to chaos. That's what the soul is - the randomness inherent to TLT. Experience doesn't translate to power, but Platypus has been well-established to be very powerful. You say that Rebus is one of the most formidable people on the thread, but before it was him, it was Platypus and Thaidakar, who Platypus fought to a draw, and later killed. I also believe I said that it was as if he was moving in slow motion, if not, that was a mistake on my part. In addition, Platypus is almost impossible to neutralize, Rebus wasn't expecting what happened to happen (while Platypus was), and, perhaps most importantly, you'll note that I said that Rebus could take one or two of the daggers. Assuming there are three, which is what I was leaning towards, that would be all but one (assuming that he got two). I don't know what more you want me to say. i'm not even sure what message you're trying to get across. That Platypus shouldn't hold Antagonist? I agreed with that. That he shouldn't hold Protagonist? I also agree with that. That I was being unfair? I agreed with that too. "Yep, that about sums it up. I killed a single being of a hive mind that could be effortlessly replaced. It's like I chopped off a finger that could easily grow back. Besides, killing him wasn't the experiment, something else was. And I'm afraid to tell you, but I've done worse, and I'm willing to do worse. Now, you can pout about it like a child, you can scream at me all you want, but it's in the past. Someone needs to do what needs to be done, and that someone will be me."
  24. to clarify, I'm not arguing Platypus should hold Antagonist. I'm thoroughly opposed to that, at the very least for now. I think, based on his goals alone, Protagonist fits him better. It doesn't fit the rest of him, but by goals alone, he's much closer to a protagonist than an antagonist. But I would disagree that buildup and such is the soul of TLT. I think that's what you have decided to use it as, but the soul of TLT has no plot, no protagonist, no antagonist. The soul of TLT is randomness. "Actually, he never tried leaving it. Tam's was following her, but his wasn't following him." "So many. I can elaborate later, but for now, I cannot." lets just say, most people would oppose them if they knew them ah. that does make sense. "You say I am not planning. I assure you, this has been planned for pages upon pages. I am not magically corrupted. My eyes are simply open to the problems here." Platypus laughed uproariously. "The rules? What rules? This is TLT!" Platypus fought Thaidakar, who was (I'm pretty sure, if I'm clear on my lore), at one point at least Adonalsium, and later killed him. He's done battle with hundreds of enemies at once. He's also hundreds of thousands of years old, and most of that time has been spent training for battle. In addition, he's boosting his powers using Plotblades and a few other things. It wasn't seven Plotblades, just a few daggers (probably 3, I haven't decided yet). You are right though, I'm being unfair. It's been a while since I've been here, I apologize. If you'd like, Rebus could have taken one or two of them before Platypus got to them. It's also just that he wasn't expecting it, but Platypus was. "Barely related to me? I created it! Perhaps I was just sharing my scientific discoveries with the thread. I can understand why you'd assume it's a threat, but that doesn't make it one. I killed you because I needed to test something. I figured as a man of science, you'd understand that." Platypus scoffed. "First off, I did think killing that version of you had to be done. Second, what do you know of why I fought people in the past? What do you know of me?"
