Clanda smiled at the compliment (though she wasn't entirely sure it was meant to be one), while wondering what those 'ways of protecting' himself were. Her grin quickly turned to a frown when Caelus collapsed. She quickly went on her knees and examined the wound. Shoot. I thought something like this would happen. Crap. Dagger to the shoulder. Probably poisoned. Paralyzation as a side effect. Probably not lethal, but definitely not good. So, what should I do?... Out loud she raised her voice, saying; "Does anyone here have any medical experience? Can someone get me a glass of water and... Oh, i don't know... some cloth? Please, anyone step forward!" She looked around pleadingly. Clanda then saw the man from before, looking quite pleased with himself, and suddenly Clanda started smiling. She walked up to him, now positively beaming. "I see you threw a dagger at my good friend over there. I do believe that behavior is frowned upon in these parts. In fact, if that were to happen again, maybe you'd ever be... kicked out! Now, we wouldn't want that to happen, would we..." The smiled vanished in an instant from her face, which was instead taken on by an iron mask, nothing like the pretty, cheerful girl that had been in her place before. Her eyes bored holes into his. They had turned into tunnels, leading far, far away from the place they were in, into darkness and murky depths. Her voice was emotionless and cold as a winter storm. "If you try to hurt me, I'll make a fuss and you'll probably not be able to stay here. No one likes seeing a young woman such as myself get hurt. You're already walking on thin ice. One more crack and it breaks. If you have the antidote, give it to me now. If not..." She gave another smile, but this one was just muscles moving across her face. It was... nothing. "If not..." The lights in the room all seemed to dim, and Clanda herself seemed shrouded with shadows. "Do you have it?"

Sarian looked at him, slightly concerned. “Do you need help?... I can see you’re limping. There’s a hospital and a technotic shop that you could probably go to to help you leg. Well... for now, I’ll go with you. Does it hurt?” @Shining Silhouette

How did you become a Sanderfan?
SymphonianBookworm replied to Odiumiumium's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I was in a book club, and someone I enjoyed talking and complaining about books with recommended Six of Crows and the Stormlight Archive. I read SoC and loved it, and had my brother buy me WoK, which I loved. And then I read all of the SA, Mistborn Era's 1 and 2, and then a lot more books. -
Clanda blinked, surprised. "Uh... yeah, I could use a squire! But, I can't just pay you nothing... Well, i'll see what I can do. But for now, you're hired!" She exclaimed with a smile. "What kind of magic do you do? Also... what’s your name?"

Sarian studied his face skeptically before sighing. “I don’t think I’ve convinced you. But, for a second, let’s pretend I have. You want to help people? Go out there-“ she pointed out the door, “-and look. You’ll see them, soon enough. The ones that need saving. Maybe if you help them, you’ll save yourself, too...” She gave a grin. “When you try to fake a smile, remember that you need to smile with your eyes, too.” She nodded, this time with a real smile on her face. @Shining Silhouette

“First,” she said, holding up one finger. “My name is Clanda. Second,” she said, holding up another finger, “I don’t know who you are but you certainly seem to think you’re something. Third,” holding up a final third finger, “I don’t think you understand what danger is. Danger is where you almost die. Danger is where you annoy powerful people. You were just in danger, and not only that, you walked into it.” She gave a small smile, twisting a strand if her hair in her fingers (not in a ditzy way, but thoughtfully). “I am a ‘world-class meddler’, though I would say it in the condescending tone you used. I wonder, since you’re clearly looking for the most expensive place there is to stay, why you didn’t choose to pay the man’s debt. You have the money. Yet you’d rather spend it on... a Lavish Lodge? I’m afraid I don’t know the directions. I’ve just arrived.” She took a deep breath, lowering her voice. “Look, I’m sorry if I’ve been rude. I’m like that. I do appreciate your wit. Most people could use a bit more of it. Anyway... it could be because I’m paranoid, but there’s something off about the man—the one who was threatening you. I don’t like him...” @Shining Silhouette

The Person Below Me
SymphonianBookworm replied to The Awakened Salad's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
YES. I do that a lot in rock-paper-scissors. TPBM likes scrambled eggs over any other way of cooking eggs. -
Clanda accidentally let a tiny laugh escape her lips before she quickly closed them again and resumed her innocent expression. “Ah, I must part for a brief second. Please forgive me and my outrageous friend over here!” She our and ironclad grip on the laughing man’s arm and tried to tow him away. Barely moving her mouth, she whispered, “Don’t instigate them more. We’ve gotten our laughs. Getting hurt would be unpleasant, wouldn’t you say? Best to leave now.” She threw another smile at the Gross Group of Men, as she had dubbed them and started walking away with the other, more refined man along with her.

Clanda grinned at the person she has just saved. “Nice to meet you. I’m Clanda. And you shouldn’t gamble, because then you lose money’s nd end up in situations like this.” She gave a little nod, and then cackled quietly to herself as she saw the uppity-looking man go over to the table where the other man (the gross, uncivilized one) sat and strike up a (clearly insulting) conversation. Maybe she would join in, and have a little fun herself. She walked up with an innocent expression on her face. “Oh, I just wanted to come over here and say hello, lovely to meet you all!” She gave a small, pretty smile, and then feigned shock. “Are you- are you going to fight? Oh, please don’t good sirs. Fighting is simply the most brutal thing on this planet, isn’t it! No matter the outcome, you’d all get hurt and we wouldn’t want that, would we? In the world we live in, there are just some atrocious things that simply shouldn’t be here, wouldn’t you agree? The ickiness of blood is one of them, not including other things in the room, of course. Besides, isn’t fighting not supposed to occur here? This is a city! We are supposed to party! To laugh! Now, what do you say we leave all this behind us?” Clanda internally smiled. Hopefully they were as dull as they looked and don’t understand she’d just insulted them. Most people when confronted with that many words, regardless of... innate intelligence (which they didn’t appear to have), would simply blink and sit down. She gave the smallest of winks to the other man, and then turned back to see the other men’s reactions.

My warlock’s familiar just 1. Steals stuff, and 2. Spies on people, 3. Flies around annoyingly, or 4. Gathers weapons. In case you haven’t guessed, they’re an imp. For me the stereotypical warlock is someone who insults. A lot. Actually all my characters do... I made a Druid who insulted people so much my DM allowed me to get Vicious Mockery as a cantrip

Cultural Exchange!
SymphonianBookworm replied to Shining Silhouette's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
YES SIX OF CROWS IS ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY! Kaz Brekker is Awsome, and the author didn’t massacre and good character like some others do! SUCH A GOOD BOOK. Honestly, I think SoC is better than Shadow and Bone. By a lot. Though... Morningtide, are you saying that Six of Crows is better than a Brandon Sanderson book? -
Clanda quickly extracted the money from her purse, adding an extra Nort for good measure. Sure, it was most of her money, but... nine Nort to save a life? She’d pay that ten times over. “Here. Now, can you please let him go?”

“Where I’m from doesn’t matter anymore! I’m free!” Clanda said with a bright smile on her face. This hid the fact that she didn’t completely trust Rith, and this seemed the best way—paired with a chipper personality—to avoid the question while getting her to power her guard. “Well, for the time being. Anyway, where are you going? I want to pop into a tavern or something. I think I saw one! I really do hate bars, but you can always meet the most interesting people there. Want to come?” Without turning to see if Rith followed, she exuberantly ran to the building she had mentioned. As she pushed open the door, she immediately saw a very drunk man on the floor while someone was about to knife him. “STOP!” She yelped, leaping forward in a most unladylike manner. “What’s the matter? Don’t just... stab the guy! That’s barbaric! Assuming this is because he didn’t pay, I can! How much does he owe?” @HOID WANTS INSTANT NOODLES

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
SymphonianBookworm replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
The feathers did not respond to Calano’s curses. Because they were feathers. And feathers do not speak. Unless they become sentient. Symph cackled as [pronoun] joined (without asking) the narrative. Meanwhile, the troll was crying again at the loss of their brethren. Whether they were happy or sad tears remains to be seen.- 111878 replies
