  1. Do you honestly believe Google is a reliable source for all the infinite information in the universe?
  2. It's been a while since I invaded this thread but I'm back. A lot of my favorite songs are technically orchestral, as in they use orchestra instruments, but considering that basically all of them are from video game/movie soundtracks, they also incorporate more electronic components and sound weird. And also really storming cool. I also have a lot of favorites that aren't really orchestral. And if they are, they stretch the bounds a little. Let me know if you want some examples...I might be able to find something worth sharing... And in case people forgot, I play clarinet, piano (sort of; my mom's a professional pianist and piano teacher, but I haven't taken official lessons in years), and a variety of smaller woodwind instruments (that I'm mostly messing around on rather than playing seriously.) I want to get a japanese flute because of the soundtrack (and story, frankly) of one of the aforementioned video games. Also flutes are just cool.
  3. @The Aspiring Archivist, you're an interesting person to interact with. You're thoughtful and intelligent, and come up with some really interesting ideas for the RP's I see you roleplay in. You're a ton of fun to be on the Shard with!
  4. Avi nodded solemnly. "Thank you." She stood up and brushed herself off, then gazed up at the cliff that led to the top of the mountain. Not an easy climb, she thought. And far too difficult to hide from monsters... Wait. "Il'anque," Avi asked, "we still have those Aki'lera pelts, right?" @Frustration
  5. I just realized that we're at 1600 pages.
  6. Bookwyrm looked confused for a second. Then his eyes widened. "That," he said, "Is not quite me. But it also is. It's...complicated. And something I don't fully understand myself, at the moment...suffice it to say, you might want to keep that version of me separate from this one in your mind."
  7. I think the Scadrians have waffles similar to Earth waffles. Rosharan waffles, on the other hand... I WIELD THE DEAD CORPSE OF A SHARD OF A SHARD OF THE CREATOR OF THE COSMERE!
  8. Indeed. Though he did not know it, it would take him almost three years to defeat the Strangely Hostile Varvax.
  9. "I found what I was looking for at that moment...on the long scale? No." Bookwyrm shrugged. "But that's fine. These things take time. And I suppose the answers are just going to lead to more questions...or at the very least, an adventure of some sort..." Bookwyrm gave Rayvyn a friendly nod.
  10. "Also Fadran," Bookwyrm interjected quickly, "Whenever you have a moment, come and find me. I'd like to talk to you." @Channelknight Fadran Bookwyrm then walked over to Pyro and Klave, Astyl at his side. Bookwyrm caught Nath glancing over at Pyro. @Nathrangking @UnfortunatelyNamed @PyroPhile
  11. Bookwyrm walked up to the group before realizing that an important conversation was happening. He slowed down and stopped, listening. Astyl, who was relatively small for a dragon, stood at his side, the colored blue and white lines running across him glowing softly against his black scales. Perideria remained in Bookwyrm's room. Upon hearing of a "downstairs", though, he intervened: "What exactly do you keep down there? What kind of drifters and horrors?" @Channelknight Fadran
  12. Butt's business was rescuing the free people of Mon Cala from an invasion of strangely hostile Varvax.
  13. Indeed, anyone who survived in the pure chaos of TLT for a significant amount of time had a level of skill and survivability that they could be considered a "hero", by a flimsy sense.
  14. Bookwyrm found his way to his room. A door marked with the correct number. Room 49, he thought. Perfect. He opened the door to find a fairly spacious room decorated to his liking. There was enough room for his reptilian companions, and a balcony in which they could access the air. The ceiling was made of glass for a nice view of the sky. It was overcast, currently, but hopefully that would change by nightfall. Bookwyrm set his pack down and looked around the room more. Windaphra also explored the fancy area, flitting around to various nooks and crannies before landing next to Bookwyrm and growing human sized. "Seems nice enough," she said, folding her arms. Bookwyrm closed his eyes and released Perideria and Astyl. The two dragons burst into existence in a flash of light; Perideria with her intimidating size and shimmering green scales just a shade lighter than emerald, and Astyl with his deep black scales accented by strange glowing blue and white lines that covered his body. The large portion of the room held spaces for them to sit and rest. "Good to be out again?" Bookwyrm asked them. Of course, Perideria replied mentally. It always feels better this way. Astyl nodded his agreement. "Sorry to keep you two locked up so long." "It's no problem," Astyl replied. Unlike Perideria, who spoke mentally, Astyl used a draconic language that was automatically translated through the bond. "We understand that sometimes this way is easier." Bookwyrm nodded, then sat down at a desk which was conveniently placed and started to think. Time for some answers. "Or," Windaphra said, "We go talk to Fadran again." Bookwyrm paused. "That might be a better idea."
  15. Bookwyrm walked up to Fadran. "I seemed to have missed grabbing my room key...do you think I could get one?" He nodded politely to the young woman standing next to him. @Channelknight Fadran @Telrao
  16. Well, back to school.

Time to take German 2 Semester 2.

Even though I took German 2 Semester 1 a year ago.

    We'll see how this goes.

If you're bored out of your mind, learn to get on the 17th shard while claiming it's duolingo, or some other language learning site. That's how I survive boring language classes.

I'm not worried about it being boring, I'm worried about not knowing all the things I'm expected to know because it's been a year and I forgot everything.

Oh, I see…you got this then!

  17. Bookwyrm walked up to Fadran, who was talking to a young woman that had just entered the inn. "Huh," Windaphra said. "What?" "She has a spren. Not sure what it means." "Huh," Bookwyrm replied. Sometimes his Honorspren's ability to see other spren was invaluable. @Channelknight Fadran @Telrao
  18. "From a land called Alagaesia. They're a ferocious species, with incredibly long lives and scales that glimmer in beautiful colors. Their eggs can remain dormant for centuries if needed, and they have powerful abilities with magic. They're also capable of forming an unbreakable mental and spiritual bond with other sapient races that grants both sides powerful abilities."
  19. Dreamscape: Sixth Archive Pathway - Hallway "Not long." Bookwyrm positioned Calano and Matra so that he could hold onto both of them at the same time. Then, he slowly accelerated them until they were plummeting down the hallway like a deep shaft, the wind buffeting their faces. @Shadowed
  20. "As far as I've found, yes. They're a strange people." He turned to Klave. "Are you a...dragon researcher? Or something along those lines?"
  21. This mildly confused Avi for a moment. Why would she want to tell Il'anque about her past? Slowly she came to realization. She barely knows me...but she's willing to share the burdens I might have from my past. It had been...so long...since anyone cared about her to even offer something as simple as that. Avi found tears welling up in her eyes. She blinked and banished them before Il'anque or Isek could notice. It's not a burden. My past doesn't haunt me; it guides me. And it was true. She didn't regret her past, and had learned to learn from it. ....But that didn't mean that there wasn't greif. Sometimes Avi told herself that her goals were fueled by a wish for justice and prosperity. But how much of it was for revenge? She ended that line of thought, instead dwelling on the sudden kindness given by someone she had, only a few hours before, considered a stranger.
  22. "I mean it wasn't a magic based flashback. And no. I'd like to keep my past to myself for now..."
  23. Bookwyrm walked up to Fadran. "I'd like a room please," he said. "Prefferably large, with a balcony or outdoor area for dragons." He paused. "And possibly a glass roof for astronomy..." @Channelknight Fadran
