  1. My Artificer is about half done, but unfortunately for the 3 ready-to-rollers Kchan and I are a packaged deal, so I can't really say 'sure, toss me in' :/ Secondary party gogogo!
  2. There was a distinct ringing in Cerdic's ears..the sound of marks rapidly sliding against one another as a coffer was stuffed. He fought to suppress the wide grin that wanted to break out on his equally wide face. Didn't want the guy to get a big head, after all. Instead, he picked up a piece of the fruit to inspect it. "Not bad. But can you keep that up all day? Enough to keep a revolving crowd interested and possibly coming back for more?"
  3. Um...holy emaciation, Batman! 236 pounds seems REALLY light for someone over 7 feet tall, just saying..
  4. I logged in just so I could upvote this glorious pun.
  5. I'm not really sure what that has to do with the situation, unless you're insinuating that he would fight his way through the city which.........yyyyeah. Not the best of ideas on a NORMAL day. When the Prince is having a summit with some very important people involved? That's signing your own death warrant, buddy.
  6. I just need anything Eberron related, really. Concept was for a slightly-insane/mad scientist type of Artificer. Was going to go the skillmonkey route so whatever party had a trapper, at least, and build a construct army for my own lulz. And of course, whatever I'll need to be the party's Outfitter of Mystical Pwnage.
  7. Well, for the sake of humor I can probably let it slide here, just make sure not to reference it 'in game'
  8. Heck, if you're offering to roll characters for people, count me in XD. Still trying to pin down a worthwhile set of resources x.x
  9. "What do you MEAN it broke another set?!" Spittle flew from Cerdic's oft-facetious lips as he raised a ledger book purely to slap it against a meaty palm, the aide jumping satisfactorily to the sharp sound. It was a purely rhetorical question, this they both knew, as he flipped through the parchment within the binding. A frustrated hiss escaped the gap between his front teeth. "That's the fifth set of manacles, Jenkins. FIFTH. Manacles aren't cheap!! I have had it with that beast!! It was expensive enough catching the damnable thing, I had to pay..." Cerdic shuddered. The word left a horrid, awful taste in his mouth. "Compensation..to those men." Bushy black eyebrows furrowed in thought as the ringmaster weighed his options. "Slap the Binder's Cuffs on it." "..Sir?" Jenkins looked up in astonishment. "You heard me, you blathering idiot. That thing is a gold mine, and I'm going to milk it for every last drop until we can catch that-.." The conversation was cut short as a figure approached. "Excuse me sir, I sent a letter several days ago about the offer for a possible position in your troupe as a sword dancer~ne. Is the position still open~ne?" Ah. This man. Honestly, he had not expected much to come of the job posting. Anyone who could actually handle a sword generally joined the guard, or ran off with dreams of the Conflux in their eyes...everyone else....well, there was a reason they needed a new sword dancer in the first place. This man, however, he looked like he might fit the bill. Cerdic wasn't about to tell him that, though. Confidence had a funny way of making people expect things. Like decent wages or..ugh..benefits. "I am a bit preoccupied by more important business at the moment, child. Jenkins, take our guest here to...whatever's available. I'll come by and take a look at what you can do when I finish up here. And Jenkins?" The aide snapped to attention. "THEN take care of the..other matter we discussed." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was two hours before Cerdic remembered he had an interview to conduct after 'more pressing matter' (of which included lunch in his private wagon and a hot bath. With a huff he entered the patchwork tent Jenkins had deposited the hopeful in, and crossed his arms over a thick chest. "You've got 1 minute. Impress me."
  10. The difference there is, the 'weird creatures' are widely accepted sentient races of Alteiryn and its nearby islands, and further have an invitation allowing them entry. These are guards, at a royal family member's home. If something they are not familiar with suddenly shows up, swords and other weaponry is drawn. As I said, we need to work out exactly WHAT is known by the common people (if anything) about the Hamartians, and then MAYBE we can see about working Zeratul into that particular thread, but it is still at Kchan's discretion considering it is, for all intents and purposes, her thread. Something I don't do, and have never done, is allow for the 'PC card' to be played. This is less an RPG, more of a cooperative storytelling effort. Yes, you guys are the protagonists, yes you are allowed to be exceptional examples of your races, but you are still bound by the rules of the world. This isn't Final Fantasy or Zelda where you can run into NPC-Jimmy's house and rob him blind and he'll keep spitting the same 2-3 lines at you as if nothing happened. If you are an unusual and mysterious entity, undisguised, people are going to stop, stare, and potentially panic. And then attack. Because that is how most people function. As it stands, Zeratul likely wouldn't have made it INTO Tolvera without stowing away in some form of wagon, because the guards at the gates would have been decidedly put off by his bizarre appearance. Given the tense air inside the city as a whole, I'd be amazed if some rookie didn't take a potshot at the 'monster'. Like a relationship, communication is key, and that is what this thread (and the PM system) is for. You want to do stuff, that's understandable, but you need to WORK with us in order for that to happen smoothly and with the most enjoyment for everyone.
  11. Sorry man, honestly and truly. I should have something up later today, after I've gotten some sleep. 4 Graveyard shifts in a row will wreck you x_@
  12. Duly noted. Also, I need a minor edit in his 'speech'. There is no 'orient' nor 'kung fu' for there to be masters of, so while the mental image of 4 chinese guys getting their butts kicked by a giant horned monster is HILARIOUS, that would technically count as a lie, and the Ohn..well..they have a policy on lying, after all.
  13. Honestly, I am not sure if they would 'fit'. The "Tales" thread is something of a 'summit' of sorts for scholarly types to try and figure out what the heck just happened with the whole Tolvera Incident. Before we can even really debate on whether or not a grayling would be allowed to attend such a meeting, we have to figure out what sort of place they have in the culture of Alteiryn as a whole. Are they something the other species are well aware of? Is there much mutual interaction, or are the Hamartians more like an urban legend/boogeyman type of entity for the others? This greatly impacts how the other sentient beings of the world perceive and respond to a member of said race. It's not like everyone and everything would turn a blind eye to a seven foot tall gray insectoid-human with nothing but eyes in its head simply because they had a metaphysical "PC" tag floating above their head.

But what ELSE am I going to do with all these splinters from the errant spiking I received?! Edit: I just realized I am not just the NEWEST Obligator, according to the group listing I am the ONLY Obligator, despite Kchan and Chaos both having it listed under "Others"...... Does this make me Lord Prelan? o.O
  15. Congrats on Returned status! I'm terribly amused by the group title color in relation to your username XD

  16. Since it's bound to come up, I had to do some moderating on the 'Tales' thread. Reader: Sorry, I know you're anxious to dive right into the thick of things, and I'm glad you're that enthusiastic about playing, but we have a setup like we do for a reason. "Tales of Intrigue and Irritating Princes" is a 'Tagged' thread, meaning it's generally only for the characters 'tagged' in the topic heading. With such threads, you need to talk with the Original Poster/Topic Creator and/or myself before jumping in. Threads that are 'tagged' generally have the course of it at least roughly planned out, and spontaneous posters could throw off said plans. Comatose and Emeralis contacted Kchan before posting to make sure it was permissible to add in certain characters without throwing anything off. This is the encouraged course of action. Please remember this for future reference, that way I won't have to do this again x.x Emeralis: Unfortunately, I was at work last night, so I couldn't catch Reader's post before anyone replied to it, but I had to remove Khrl's response for continuity's sake. My apologies.
  17. Well, the main issues have been addressed, so as soon as I see a change in the 'immunity', I can stamp this one as Approved .

  19. Elantrian Get! Now if only I was photoshop-capable, I could turn this profile pic silvery..

  20. Admittedly, I laughed. On one hand, you really did a good job capturing the essence of an Ohn, but on the other I think you're slightly off. I'll give the racial bio a reread to make sure I didn't cause this myself, but the Ohn aren't idiots by nature. It's alright for one to be slightly less intelligent than the others, that's bound to happen, but it's not like they're ALL Elementary-school drop-outs and this guy is therefore eternally locked in kindergarten. They're crude, they're undeveloped as a culture, but it's not because they're morons. They're not the brightest bulbs, sure, but it's because they put too much focus on physical might. It's worked well for them so far, so they've seen no need to change or evolve past what they currently are. That, and his name is just SLIGHTLY too much, even for an Ohn name. The length is generally tied to their 'rank' in their society and their achievements in life, so it could stand to be a little shorter, especially for someone who is taking orders from someone else. Outside of the name, though, this is pretty acceptable .
  21. Well, I'm certainly not going to give anything away in my statements, but I will say that it would be ill advised to bring such a statement to the attention of the involved parties. Religions are religions for a reason, after all. The Berylanx have a reason for believing what they do, as does every other race. For the record, the most widely accepted 'religion' of the Xanethi people is the Divine Signs, the constellations/heavenly bodies from which the months draw their names and people born under such months draw physical and mental aspects, supposedly. There are of course small factions here and there that do things such as worshiping Xan as some form of man-become-god.
  22. "Well a'cours, Mizz Kiki. De worl' be so beeg an' full a' so many intrestin' tings ta see..If ya be stayin' in one place all ya life, iz dat really livin'? No offense, Mizz Sayuri. I been to de Leya, is a lovely place. Bix thought 'bout buildin' a summah hut, but dey would prolly be kickin' Bix out fer bein' dat neighbah." Grinning, he offered a shrug that almost seemed to indicate it would be the Leyari's loss, but at the very least he did not seem too bothered by the concept. Then again, given his near constant smile and upbeat, jovial nature, one could very easily wonder if anything bothered the man.
  23. You guys are nutty . There is no Kurianity, because there is no Kuri. Just because I'm running this RP doesn't mean I'm gonna throw 'myself' in as a God figure. I don't do shameless self-insertion, that's Stephanie Meyer's job. I'm curious as to what you see as these two 'false' religions, though. As for the truth..well....RAFO
  24. Interesting stuff. Definitely going to kill myself making Homunculi XD
