We've been jokingly throwing this idea around, so I think it will happen eventually. It's not a difficult thing to do, just not a high priority one

How would you like those credited to you? Normally we'd use the most recent username, but if you prefer something (e.g. your old username, your real name, another name you go by), we can do that too. -

You may have the original question in the invoice email. -
Don't you mean, bind yourselves a spren like Syl...

I don't necessarily subscribe to the "Dawnsingers = Listeners" theory, but my first thought was that Shallan's feelings about Re-Shephir provide additional evidence for the theory that the Unmade are ancient listeners who had given themselves to Odium, in a manner similar (but not identical) to how the Heralds have given themselves to Honor. The souls of a few ancient listeners, infused with Odium's investiture.

Huh, that's a city with a past. This was also a far less nefarious purpose behind all this marching around. Ah, nevermind. I thought the city had been abandoned for some reason... Aww, that's cute. Sounds like Khen's group are beginning to attune to the Rhythms a little bit. It's probably natural, instinctual for them. Plus, we know that listeners default to whatever Rhythm most closely matches their mood. Oh, the Fused sound nice and cuddly. Can't wait to see one. Oh, yep. Great. Good stuff. Still, one is probably not going to be much of a problem, even without Stormlight. Let's see what goes wrong... Hahahaha, oh, this is beautiful! The theorycrafter in me wants to worry if gloryspren are tied to another Radiant order, but the theorycrafter can be quiet for a moment, this is such a pure scene. Oi. Here's the voidlight we've been waiting for. Probably. I mean, it's not like this thing is everywhere, and it has been some time since the Everstorm last hit. They probably have a way to store this in something, maybe gems, maybe different ones from the ones that hold Stormlight (though that would strike me as odd). Or, maybe they've just been holding it since the last Everstorm - the Voidbringers are better at holding it (or at least Stormlight) than the Radiants, though I don't know if even they should be able to hold it for days... Or maybe it's just corrupted Stormlight - still Stormlight, but tainted by Odium's investiture. Okay, so manipulation of Gravitation. This seems in line with the idea that Voidbinders - if that's what these are - would access the same Surges, but through a different "filter". Huh. That... doesn't seem like a power either Windrunner Surge should be able to account for. The Radiants might be a little more complicated than previously assumed... Chapter 32: Company Aaand, we still don't know who the author of Oathbringer is. Fantastic. There have been some (vague) indications that feeling of cold might be tied to Odium in some ways, this might add a little bit of support to that idea. Reminds me of... Rlain's remark about the Parshendi gods. I don't remember the exact passage, but my impression of it was that the Unmade could've been ancient listeners who had given their souls to Odium. Makes me think of the Heralds, actually - maybe Odium wanted to create something similar, but not quite the same. Nooooooooooooooooooo. Brandon you storm-cursed crem-covered bloody... THAT is how you end part 1!? That??? God, this book. It's going to ruin me. I'm out, I can't deal with this right now.

I should probably go over my own audio before then and make sure I sound dignified in every public recording... -
I've seen no toes exposed for this time period. I myself plan on showing up early too.

The Dor has been referred to, at times, as kind of a pseudo-Shard or proto-Shard. Reading too much into this is probably not a profitable endeavour

Nothing that I have spotted, but I haven't listened to it while also reading the books.

My interpretation of that line in Starfalls - in the light of the recent preview chapters - was that maybe the way Re-Shephir was trapped was by trapping pieces of her essence, individual Midnight Essences (thus weakening her), and a few of those were released. It is an imaginative interpretation, however...

Of relevance: I personally think you can create a Lifeless using a Divine Breath, but it would come with side effects. Maybe the Lifeless will exhibit some extra intelligence, I'd guess on a similar level to a spren (from The Stormlight Archive), or maybe a Seon (from Elantris).

The beta readers over at the Discord server have been teasing us mercilessly that it's much better.

Your best bet is probably Edgedancer, which takes place after Words of Radiance. Then Oathbringer in a couple of weeks. Once we all recover from Oathbringer, we can talk about other options

You mean Skype VR call? But no, he is not going to force them in a highstorm. He'll just make them experience the same shared vision - he himself didn't need to be out or anything. I am looking forward to this.

Stupid meetings... Chapter 30: Mother of Lies Hmm. I am reminded of the Listener Song of Revision, the one stanza we have: Artform, of all things, is tied to creationspren. I mean, obviously, it makes sense, but there is a pretty hefty common theme running here - Shallan, art, illusions, creativity... Perhaps I am just looking too hard at something that's nothing more than a shared motif. Reminds me a little bit of how Vin fought Ruin after she Ascended. ... ah, yeah, that could explain why it reminds me of it. If this is Spiritual battle, it should feel similar. Ooooh, now this is new and interesting. Could this be tied to the Recreance? 9 Orders trapping the 9 Unmade, 1 Order to keep watch. And this either required them to break their oaths first, or the act of trapping the Unmade led to the breaking of the Oaths. Feels a little crackpotty, but I've seen worse. Hmm, I don't think that was the trap though. Maybe it was what provided fuel for the trap, but I think Re-Shephir must've been trapped in a gem similar to old Gavilar's. A gem we are going to find buried under all those gemstones. Woah, what chapters! Good stuff, team. This book is picking up nicely!

Chapter 28: Another Option I read this before I got to my PC, but I didn't find much of note. The ending made me happy. Chapter 29: No Backing Down I don't think you are fully sane, Shallan... Heh, frolicking. You are not just a pretty map, Shallan, you are a full character! I was wondering why Veil hadn't taken this possibility into account. Seemed obvious. That's a lot of personality switching in a short time. Feels weird. A sign that Shallan doesn't have her personalities under control? Futuresight? Perhaps Lightweaving has the inherent ability to see the future a little bit, and Renarin - for whatever reason - is simply better. Oh, that's alarming... How broken are you, Shallan? It feels like Urithiru is making it worse too, she was nowhere near as bad in the first two books. The Unmade? Assuming it is an Unmade sending this spren, what I think is one of the Ten Deaths. Hey look, it's Sisyphus! Also, aren't the ten fools normally capitalized? Ten Fools? Oooh, this is nice! The depiction of Honor sounds a little bit like Jezrien's belt buckle, though not exactly. It's nice to see Cultivation show up too, even if Shallan is too dense to recognize her Curses, woman, don't tell us about the two spren we've seen so much from! Tell is about the others! Huh. Is it because they are more advanced in their Oaths? I doubt the Stormfather is being malicious here, hiding stuff from Dalinar, but I wonder if the Stormfather can even detect this wrongness, this suspected Unmade. Oh, that's sad... Not entirely surprising, but sad nonetheless. Ayyy, it's so nice when theories come together. Not only is she an Unmade, she is also spawning those other things - like Ten Deaths now. Ooooh, those are just Midnight Essences. Brandon talked about how they take the shape of whatever was around them - the ones Dalinar saw in his Heb-vision looked somewhat like whitespines. These look like Shallan and the crew. Should've made that connection earlier... Oh. And, of course I need to run for a meeting... We'll finish this later.

Grow the beard to the point where it blows on the wind behind you like a red scarf. -
The popular assumption is that they are, somehow, depictions of Roshar's moons, as they match both their number and colors.

Plus, you know, a ton of people have met Lin Davar. A parshman would never be anything other than a slave, let along a brightlord. It's not exactly something you can hide.

That's a cool idea. It also reminds me that I really need some kind of a sign for the Chicago signings...
