  1. Bam! Human(oid) and dark-skinned. Canon.
  2. Yea, this is sound logic. Knowing that all Orders get glowing eyes matching the color of their respective gems, and having seen some Orders' Plate glow the same matching color, it's a pretty safe argument from induction.
  3. Maybe. Though from what we've seen from Shadesmar, it looks like shardpools might be too complex of a solution. I really have to wonder about that massive hint in Elantris though. I was going to ask him about whether it's the traveling Aon - so a magic system with built-in potential for transportation between worlds - but I forgot...
  4. We have answers to most of these questions. On the phone now, bumpy train ride, can't give details.
  5. Odd, I thought I saw Full Shardbearer at 857 myself...
  6. I doubt it. Lie detection doesn't really fit nicely with any of the surges or divine attributes of the Bondsmiths.
  7. This has to do with the common origin of the people of Nalthis and those of Roshar. They were both created after the original humans from Yolen, and at one point, very soon after their inception, they were probably almost identical. Many thousands of years of divergent evolution would've made their languages, originally almost the same, very different now. But not entirely.
  8. I think 850 must be Full Shardbearer - I was just a Shardbearer yesterday, when I was in the low 800s. I can't remember if I hit a rank between Seer and Shardbearer though...
  9. I asked a related question during the Chicago signing and Brandon said that some Orders have squires, some don't, and even among those who do, the number varies (he said that the Windrunners have "an abnormal" number of squires, whose strength/abilities might be abnormal too). He told me to keep an eye on them.
  10. The printed books just an italicized Shshshsh - maybe with a different typeface. It definitely doesn't have the color.
  11. Actually, I find it possible that both Ishar and Nohadon founded the Radiants. Ishar - according to Taln's words to Shallan - was interested in finding a way to preserve all the knowledge humanity lost in each Desolation, and his solution was, presumably, the Orders. I imagine he envisioned them as collectors of knowledge and teachers much more than warriors. Kind of like ardents, now that I think about it. Fast forward some time, and Nohadon could've figured out a way to militarize those orders, turn them into something much more powerful - warriors, healers, spies, suppliers, etc.
  12. Being capable of inflicting serious damage is not the same as wanting to, though. I don't find it surprising at all - Hoid seems much more like a collector and a storyteller than a fighter, be it warrior or defender.
  13. Busted.
  14. We don't. We kind of assume, because it looks like we have him to thank for the Nahel bond - though he might have had some help from Ishar...
  15. Each Shard has some control over their own magic. Preservation and Ruin settled on 16, likely because of the 16 Shards of Adonalsium. Honor (and Cultivation?) probably liked 10 better.
  16. Somebody in Chicago asked about the AoL AA and Brandon said it was written by the same person who wrote all of them.
  17. One of the places from Dalinar's visions, is referred to as Feverstone Keep, which Dalinar notes to have been made of redstone. Something that strikes him as odd for reasons I can't remember. I might be partially wrong about the details here...
  18. The Blade could've been switched after Taln's arrival, but before Bordin got to him and put him in the carriage. I had a write-up of the possibilities somewhere...
  19. This makes sense.
  20. The Chicago signing was a disaster for this project, at least as far as I am concerned. The whole thing with the cards was poorly announced by the store (they wouldn't let me address the entire audience for some reason), so only 2 (4 if you count me and a friend) wrote notes... Another friend of mine composed notes for Shallan's lullaby, and we obviously had the Where's my Chull[/] to show off. Oh, and that one photo of mine...
  21. Kaladin's last line sounds a little off, but I love the other two.
  22. It has been brought up, but nobody has been able to produce a clear enough image so we can verify.
  23. It's an easy book today find a copy of though. And I am not sure I'd say it was important for Jasnah, she merely find it best suited for a scholar.
  24. Woah, lady, you just stripped us off 10 Shards there! But nerdlove is awesome, so that's fine. Go take some time looking through the Words of Radiance forum, we've talked about a lot of stuff in the past couple of weeks. And when I say "some time" I probably mean "a few days," given how active the forum has been lately...
