  1. I believe theirs a theory about the men of red and gold, where they're the Dominion version of Elantrians (who are more Devotion than Dominion.) And that the Irali are some that fled the disaster. I'm at a theme park right now, so I can't find the original thread.
  2. This is very true, see: anything aonic.
  3. Not all parts of the shardblade sever the soul XD
  4. Well, yes, but they would presumably explode rather quickly. You could try, but it's incredibly unstable, and likely, fabrics and surges would be the same. An anti-flamespren is not an ice spren.
  5. Well, Byzantium (Byzantion) was a Thracian (Ancient Balkans) settlement that became known as Constantinople in late antiquity. The term is probably Thracian in origin, from the personal name Byzas. But the etymology is lost. The term was used specifically to refer to those from Byzantium (the city) and then to refer to the currency of the Eastern Roman Empire in the 9th century. But you're correct that it was used to refer to the empire at large only long after the eastern Roman empire had fallen. You could, also call it Lygos, for fun.
  6. What does this mean
  7. Helpppp I'm being held hostage by the ER.

Also, they like gorrila glued 5 sensors to my chest.

Took about 30 minutes to remove without ripping large amounts of hair and skin with them.

      Argh

  8. All compounding generates exponential investiture, that's what makes it compounding, nicrosil, if it can store raw investiture, would probably compound the stored stuff yea. I assume that if it can store both, it needs to be in two different minds, bendalloy can't store in the same, neither can tin.
  9. Going to be honest, I assumed Hasbin Hotel...
  10. By the Forgotten Gods that's a hard question, and it depends on the day. Feruchemy is interesting since it messes with every aspect of a person, but I really like Awakening, since the possibilities are nearly endless.
  11. Welcome to the forums! You're from the land of silver? That's pretty cool! (it's my favorite metal if you couldn't tell) What's your favorite magic system? Sanderson or otherwise?
  12. Even if I can never find anyone to play with, hey the lore will be cool.
  13. Happy Birthday!

  14. They're really the same thing; they're both nutrients that you need to live, and let's face it if it (tin too) couldn't store both, it would be extraordinarily useless. By that definition, Chromium, Nicrosil, Aluminium, and Duraluminium all store investiture; they each store different parts of the spiritweb. You're storing the parts that allow you to make connections, and the connections themselves (Hmm maybe thats a point in your favor), the sDNA that makes up your identity and wherever fortune is stored (Assuming fortune his is in your spirit web... somewhere).
  15. Today, for about 5 minutes, my brain thought that the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day saints didn't believe in Jesus.

I... need to sleep... It's... in the name...

    Finals are getting to me.

On a somewhat related note, do any of you know how long the King james old testament is? I encourage you to dig around and find out, the result is very strange.

  16. Well, maybe, as the question is parphrased from memory. It's possible they asked about the shape-shifting powers (and other stuff) of the returned breath rather than the divine breath itself, and Brandon responded as such. Also, to me at least, It really doesn't make sense to me that it could store both raw investiture and the capacity to use it. Copperminds store information, while a Zincmind stores the ability to process information, each doesn't do both.
  17. So there is an old debate on whether nicrosil stores Investiture, like stormlight, or the ability to use it. The Coppermind's page contradicts itself, with the books themselves supporting the Ability to use it, and much more. However, the Coppermine claims a necrosis compounder would have infinite investiture and cites this wob (below), which, very notably, doesn't say this. It's just Yulerule asking if a necrosis compounder could compound enough to make Nightblood and Brandon say, "So much," which is true for every compounder. That does not support a claim like "A nicrosil Compounder would be able to use nicrosil to have a nearly infinite supply of stored Investiture." Now, it's possible I've missed something, but it seems this wob and the idea that it feeds off of don't have very strong textual or WoBual (?) evidence and should probably be moved to speculation.
  18. I meant the latter; being in a higher investiture environment like roshar helps eliminate pesky things like cancer and colds. However, background Investiture is also a thing, that is how magic systems form on worlds without shards. It's rarer, but can still happen.
  19. The issue is more with lifespan* and radiation, which Ado pretty easily solves. If you put it there, life doesn't evolve, so the shorter lifespan of A and F sequence stars is less of an issue. The higher radiation could be just the higher investiture, which heals radiation damage pretty easily, and the fact that most things are crabs, which are resistant to radiation. *Of the star; A and F stars live for much shorter.
  20. Might want to edit your quote as well. shows the spoiler
