    Sequence signed the second blank.

    The knife gave an amused hum. “Perhaps you should go find that woman you met at the party. You two seemed to get along, and you seem… Lonely.”

    The knife floated in place, ‘watching’ the exchange. ”Odd. Be sure you don’t perish.”
  4. ThroughTheLivingSequence
    A white and blue knife resembling a kunai with a gemstone inset in the flat of the blade and a ring at the bottom appeared. ”The party is over.” A glowing aura around the knife pulsed at the sound, and it seemed that… the knife was the one speaking.

    Everybody still at the party found themselves transported back, as all the invitations were invalidated and the planet was closed.

    The person was gone, and the Render’s prison slowly melted away. It found itself in the plain it had been chasing the mage on before it accidentally activated the invitation.

    Nope! Mostly just subtly spreading the substance around in relatively inconspicuous places.

    Sequence smiled. "Okay." She said, seeming... unsure. "Good. Tear it up, and it will return you to wherever you were before using it. You'll also have a copy when you arrive, if you wish to attend the trial for which my invitation was so rudely hijacked..." Sequence gave a little chuckle, then patted Gail's hand again. "I hope to see you again soon!"

    Sequence looked conflicted. "... It's Everyone. I don't know why on the forever unwinding Thread I continue to trust them." She rubbed her eyes with her palms, groaning in frustration. "Which is exactly why I think you should leave instead. Everyone's not very fond of you, as you know." "I'll say!" Fuzzy said with a huff. She had appeared, and was seemingly mopping a spot on the floor. "They ate ALL of my Frosted Cupcake Sparkle Puffs last week!"

    "Oh, not you, don't worry." Sequence patted Gail's hand gently. "Just leave as quickly as you can, alright? Do you have your invitation?"

    "Don't worry about it! Maybe just stay close to Subversion until you can get out of here." Sequence appeared for a moment. "Could you perhaps do it without inciting panic?"

    Sequence looked at Unintelligible for a moment, not speaking. "Not anything I can't handle." She gave a forced smile. "Do you still have your invitation?" -- "You could say that." Sequence said with a grimace, looking around at her cabin with an upset look. "Both of you should go. Dangerous is something of an understatement." Sequence buried her head in her hands for just a moment, cursing to herself.

    A copy of Sequence appeared. "Black stuff. Die." She confirmed. "If you tear up your invitation, you'll be returned to wherever you were before you used it. It was lovely to see you all, but you should leave as soon as possible!"

    Sequence looked down at his ankle again, still rather worried. "Yes. The party is over. Can you get out by yourself? If you tear up your invitation it'll return you to wherever you were before you arrived." Sequence nodded, snapping her fingers and whispering some indecipherable words to Cardinal and Fuzzy, who hurried off in separate directions. The knife spun in a few circles, then faced the woman again. "Update: it is time to leave. Please tear up your invitation to return to wherever you were before you used it." The knife then drifted off somewhere else hastily.

    "Oh goodness, are you alright?" She suddenly looked much more worried, reaching out to offer support if he needed it. Less noticeably, she glanced around the party with an extremely worried look. "Do you need ice? To sit down? Whatever it is, it might be prudent to leave as quickly as possible."

    Sequence laughed some more, slowly getting to her feet and extending a hand to Unintelligible. "Personally, I think bad dancing seems more fun than spinning in perfectly uneventful circles all night long." Sequence's copy/hologram looked confused, glancing between him and Beosta. ".. Cardinal? He's been tending to the garden all night." She looked at Cardinal, who looked like he was about ready to pass out. "... Right?" "Everyone made me do it!" He suddenly blurted out, pointing at Everyone. "They gave me the vial, they told me to spread it out and focus on people who weren't paying attention!" He immediately dropped his head into his hands and sobbed. Sequence looked at Everyone, her authority and confidence melting away. Everyone smiled, an unsettling, dark smile. "Perhaps it's time for your precious party to end." Everyone hissed, their signature darkness creeping into their voice. "Wouldn't want people to start dying." With that, they vanished in a puff of black smoke. Sequence looked a little dizzy, but snapped her fingers. Shoe's couch gently lifted into the air, and relocated a safe distance away. "Beosta, do me a favor please." She said shakily. "Go ahead and start asking people to leave, would you?" "Thank you. That is all I ask."

    Sequence looked at a small pool of it that was on the floor between the coffee table and the couch closely. Soon after, she recoiled and gagged again. “Rusts!! Eugh.. I, uhhh… I think I might know what this is. And if I’m right, the answer is no.” She cleared her throat, then took a deep breath and shouted a string of words in an indecipherable language. Three people then appeared before her. Fuzzy, a short woman with frizzy blond hair; Everyone, a tall person with short, stringy black hair and dull crimson eyes, and also the same person who had been watching over Shoe. Fuzzy looked confused, Everyone looked bored and slightly annoyed, and the person, well, he looked terrified. His hair was a similar color as Fuzzy’s, but was straight and shoulder length, and he wore a blue hoodie as he fidgeted with his hands nervously. “WHAT on the forever unwinding Thread is THIS?” Sequence asked the trio, pointing to the puddle of black residue.

    “It stinks.” Sequence wrinkled her nose. “It also might dissolve living tissue.” She examined the floor, trying to find more. theres enough that it’d probably be bothersome to him, but maybe whether or not it’s near enough to cause harm should be up to glass?

    Sequence narrowed her eyes, picking up the paper and examining it. She immediately gagged and burst into a fit of coughing. She threw the piece of paper across the room and flicked her wrist, and with that, it burst into flames and quickly disappeared. “Storms- Ack!! What in the-“ She looked around, spotting the other patches of black residue with alarm. “Oh goodness- You didn’t breathe any in, did you?”

    Sequence blinked, looking at the paper. “… Pardon? One of my people?”

    A copy of Sequence appeared, as she had the wonderfully useful Narrative ability of dividing her attention among several different things! “Hi Beosta!” She said brightly. “How’s it going? How’s Shoe?”

    Indeed! At least that was the end of it. Until Beosta caught a whiff of the black residue, however. Even the smallest vapor was extremely unpleasant to breathe in. It seared the throat and eyes and also gave one the uncontrollable urge to gag for some reason. And upon closer inspection, there was more of it. On the floor, the sofa, the table, little speckles of it dotted around this small space.

    The person awkwardly shuffled away and promptly vanished in a puff of blue smoke. The paper was nothing special. Partially crinkled, ripped in places, and smeared with blood on the inside of the folded part. … Very normal. There was some black residue on the paper as well, which seemed to be slowly eating away at it.

    The person nodded, and gave a wave of their hand. Their power to suppress emotion was inherently meant for organic brains and consciousness, so whether or not that affected the Render was unknown. Goodnight! He nodded. “Yes yes, I’m fine. Now that you’re here I can leave, if you wish.” He began to stand up to go, gently placing his piece of paper on a table beside his chair.

    He frowned. “I apologize- H-Have I done something wrong?” He continued to fidget with the piece of paper, folding it and tearing it in places. “I-I was just asked to keep an eye on that one on the couch.” He pointed to Shoe. “Sequence is busy. I-I’m one of hers, if that wasn’t clear. … No, that’s not right, I’m one of her… friends..? Employees… Uh…” The person buried his head in his hands, looking tired and overwhelmed.
