  1. Aelinor’s steps were naturally quiet, but she didn’t have a mind to be stealthy until she spotted the figure. She immediately crouched down and stepped closer to the foliage on the edge of the path, watching the figure closely through the bushes. This was an unfamiliar world, but according to Unintelligible, it belonged to… an Author, with… good intentions… this time? Agh, she couldn’t remember. She decided to just watch the figure for a moment. No use getting into any fights she can’t win.
  2. You just broke my multiple year-long streak by the way... There will be consequences for this..
  3. Ever heard of Heretic? That one was pretty scary... And very well done, I thought.
  4. Sounds kinda like a superhero or something . Fear not, Questio is here!
  5. Aelinor nodded. "Good luck," she said, turning her gaze back to the forest. "I'll find you once I've visited the Dreamsmith." She gave Unintelligible a nod, and set out along the path, resisting the urge to glance back at Sequence's grave as she walked into the trees. As she walked, she remained vigilant, watching both the path and the trees beyond. She didn't know exactly how long it would take and how the entrance would present itself, so she kept her eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary.
  6. Aaaalright alright… Lemme get my reading glasses on for this… Mission complete!! I had to remove the spaces to get the whole thing to fit tho
  7. Fish . Fried sea bass and pasta… Once again, I tried to help but I ended up mostly getting in her way
  8. that's probably what I would do, since it's recognizable... hopefully it doesn't exceed the character limit or anything, it's only one character longer than yours after all
  9. Well, what time are you talking about? Spoilers for Isles of the Emberdark and the Sunlit Man: Also, sorry if somebody already made these points, I couldn't be bothered to read through all 17 pages of this thread .
  10. Wow, this thread is so old... Six years since it started and four since I discovered it . It makes me happy that people still post here! Anyways, for something gay disasters related, my girlfriend and I had our third anniversary the other day... We don't plan on ever getting married or anything but anniversaries are still fun! We(mostly she, I tried and failed to help) cooked dinner and we talked about memories and cried a bunch.. It was lovely . She's so pretty, guys, like oh my god...
  11. Congratulations, you've somehow managed to start a naming trend even more confusing than Ookla season!
  12. Aelinor nodded slowly, gazing out into the forest surrounding the small clearing. "What will you do?" She asked Unintelligible, not turning to look at him. WHAT
  13. Aelinor nodded slowly, dropping Conflict. It puffed into blue mist as soon as it left her hands. ”I think I need to visit the Dreamsmith,” she said softly, looking at her hands. “How would I go about finding him? Sequence never really told me how she did it.”
  14. Ohhhh, I see… That’s actually kinda scary Aelinor glanced between both of them, shifting on her feet uneasily. She glanced back at the stone vault nestled in the foliage. “… Yeah. Okay.” She looked down at her ruined hands, and summoned Conflict, balancing the sword between her hands. She looked at it for a moment. “I’ll… hold onto it.” She looked at Unintelligible. “Would you… help me learn how to use it?”
  15. Hm.. Perhaps we should ask @xinoehp512, he's the plotblade expert . Aelinor glanced between Unintelligible and Rebus, somewhat... unsure. "Is fighting right now... necessary? When we- ... you, have greater evils to face?"
  16. Aelinor was gazing past Rebus with a somewhat vacant look. As Sequence had understood Conflict, passing down the knowledge to Aelinor, the blade would grant the wielder strength, power, and whatever special abilities they needed to match their opponent equally, making sure that a fight would come down to skill and nothing more. "... Both would be... nice..." She said. "But- ... I'm not- ... I'm not... special. I don't want to spend forever training while Rebus roams free." Her eyes focused on the man on the path now, studying him for a moment. "... Can he even be beaten? Killing him, or... this form of him here now, would that even do anything? Does he die like a normal person should?" She turned to look at Unintelligible. "Could you do it alone?"
  17. Aelinor just watched, completely still and silent. She reached into a small sheath inside the waistband of her trousers, needing to use both hands and struggling to remove the knife she drew out. As it was drawn, Willow began to glow and lifted into the air, spinning a couple times. It was silent save for a soft buzzing sound as it slowly drifted down to rest upon the vault, the glow and the sound fading. "I will wait here," it said softly before the glow ceased entirely. Aelinor turned around, looking down the path they had taken here. "... I am no match for Rebus," she said quietly. "I barely swung my sword before Ivisyre beat me. I was supposed to protect her, and instead, she had to sacrifice herself to protect me." Her voice was choked, her expression frustrated. "I should give you Conflict. It's useless in my hands."
  18. Aelinor stared down at the inscription in the stone, an unreadable expression on her face. She looked around at the clearing and the trees beyond. Finally, she looked at Sequence in Unintelligible's arms. She didn't say anything for a long moment, her expression blank. Finally, she took in a slow breath and nodded. "... Yes. She'd like it," Aelinor said softly.
  19. Aelinor jumped again, looking around for the voice. She narrowed her eyes distrustfully at the word 'Author'. As Unintelligible stepped through the forest, Aelinor began to object. "Wait- Are you sure that- ... Okay..." She sighed and stepped through after him, looking down at her hands and trying to think of how she would hold Conflict if she needed to summon it.
  20. Aelinor jumped back with alarm, whirling to face the split in the air. "Uh... Is that... Nameless's place? That you were talking about earlier?" She asked, peering through the rift with narrowed eyes. "Where did this come from?" Ivisyre rolled their eyes. "I'd rather not. I hate Narrators." They released Rebus's hand and stepped back, taking a small bow. "Enjoy your rock." With that, they vanished into a puff of mist. oh goodness
  21. Ivisyre searched Rebus's gaze for a moment. They saw a lot more than they once did... Perks of being a Narrator. "Alright. You can have it on one condition. One binding condition, Narrator to Narrator." They rose to their feet, walking down the steps at the foot of the throne towards Rebus. "Sequence's avatar will never set foot here," Ivisyre said with a somewhat content smile. "And neither will Ookla the Unintelligible, for that matter," they added. "Should you ever allow them to, dominion will return to me, and I will simply... destroy it." They extended their hand to Rebus, dark mist pooling in their palm. "Agree and the planet is yours." They cocked their head to one side, thinking for a moment. "If you create a palace here after it's yours, perhaps make a sparring ring." They smiled a sharp-toothed smile. "You could certainly use the practice."
  22. “Oh, just deciding what to do with this rock I’ve found… I certainly won’t be keeping it.” Ivisyre sniffed and wrinkled their nose. “It reeks of.. her, don’t you think? Sickeningly sweet and… cloudy… and patronizing. You smell it, don’t you?” They shook their head, waving a dismissive hand. “Whatever. I digress. I’ll humor you. What’s your offer?” Aelinor relaxed visibly, letting out a relieved sigh. “… Yeah. Probably.” She spared a glance at Sequence, quickly looking away and rooting her eyes on the floor beneath her feet. “I… don’t have any way of transporting us anywhere… I don’t suppose you do?”
  23. Ivisyre nodded slowly, the smile fading from their face until the look they fixed Rebus with was nothing short of a venomous glare. “You do not summon me,” they said flatly. “I am not a tool to be used by you to intimidate your enemies.” They leaned back in their throne, rubbing their temples softly. “Tell me what you want and be gone.” Aelinor glanced between Unintelligible and Rebus, her expression hardening. She shook her head at Unintelligible, stepping forward. “I’ll fight you,” she said to Rebus, looking him up and down. “If you leave us alone until… this is done. Otherwise, I’m not above running away. Or hiding. Or finding a way to destroy Conflict to keep it from you.” She fixed Rebus with a glare… but there was a bit of vulnerability, a bit of pleading in her eyes. “If you truly had any respect for… Sequence, then you’d remember how she felt about violence.” Aelinor resisted glancing at Sequence’s body, gray in Unintelligible’s arms.
