  1. Sequence tilted her head, looking at Unintelligible curiously. "... Understood. New evil or old evil with a new reappearance?" She paused, then added, "And do you think they'd react positively to a bag of tea leaves as a gift?"
  2. Sequence nodded again, looking out at the horizon intently. "How about the conflict? All of the... fighting, and animosity? Dying down, I'd hope? No new big, bad villains making an appearance?"
  3. Sequence nodded, sipping her own tea as well. "What's your stance? On the Great Wizard's innocence, I mean."
  4. She seemed alright, the only sign of the wound being a dark grey bruise-like patch underneath the skin. Her behavior and demeanor seemed normal as well. Sequence winced slightly, leaning on Unintelligible heavily as they made their way to the porch. "Thank you." She said, already sounding out of breath by the time they got there. She sat down in her rocking chair heavily, wincing slightly again. The sun was rising on Sequence's World, causing the snowy, crystalline mountains to glitter brilliantly. Aelinor was leaning against the railing outside, and turned as Sequence and Unintelligible arrived. She looked Sequence up and down. "Feeling better?" She asked, glancing at Unintelligible. Sequence nodded, looking a bit queasy as she leaned forward to pour three cups of tea from the steaming kettle that was always on the porch's coffee table. "I vaguely remember something about a trial," Sequence said hoarsely, seemingly directed at Unintelligible. "For the Great Wizard. Did that already happen? How did it go?"
  5. Sequence nodded, standing up shakily and wincing a bit. She was stable, though. "I appreciate it." She said, extending her hand to Unintelligible. "Could you help me to the porch?"
  6. Marvelous . I actually did backread like a handful of random pages, and that wedding would be that of Beosta and Shoe, right? Lovely couple, those two! Sequence groaned and sat up, rubbing her eyes a bit and blinking around. ".. I... A bit? A lot, I think." She looked down at her midsection, where the wound was healed on the surface, but a slight darkness seemed to lie beneath the surface, like a bruise. Sequence poked it gently and winced. "Better, but not completely. How long has it been?" Sequence looked out the window for a moment, then back to Unintelligible. "Have you been here the whole time?"

  8. Very late
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my dear 17th Shard! How was everyone's holiday season? :D

Ahh, that makes sense. Something I always say, is that while skiing is definitely something of a skilled sport, it's never too late to learn! Some people might say so, but my mother didn't learn to ski until she was forty, and she can ski basically anything now! Albeit, nervously :D.

Outer Wilds! Haven't played it, but I've been recommended it several times and I love the music. It's definitely on my list to be played... eventually :P.

      The Bookwyrm

I have a hyperfixation and I need someone to talk to

But yeah, someday I would definitely like to learn how to ski.

I certainly understand that :P. If I ever do get around to playing it, you'll be the first to know!

Best wishes of luck and encouragement! I'm definitely biased, but I think skiing is one of the best things ever :D.

  9. Sequence woke up, having fallen asleep for quite a while due to her injury and her author's holiday business. How's everybody been? Did I miss anything important?
  10. Hi Szeth! Long time no see! Unfortunately, there was nobody who knows.
  11. Sequence immediately passed out. The infected flesh was tougher than normal, proving relatively difficult to remove, and once more the bubbling and sizzling seemed to fight against everything it touched.
  12. Sequence nodded, looking queasy and miserable. “I don’t recall suffering any, but I have…” She shifted uncomfortably. “Bonded a withergiest before. And seen such injuries on others.”
  13. Sequence winced, and the wound seemed to resist. It did slow down, though the oozing and bubbling seemed to try to escape and wither away at all it touched, the power included. It was nonetheless effective for the moment.
  14. @Ookla the nostealnamepls Sequence snapped back to focus, eyes moving to the Enuller. The bandage wrapped around her midsection and the one on her arm both had small back stains in the middle, clearly needing to be changed soon. Sequence blinked, then slowly nodded. Then paused, and shook her head instead. “No, not Mordite. I don’t know exactly what Everyone is. Dark, certainly. I suppose you’ll need to see the wound itself. Aelinor, help me please.” Aelinor hurried over to begin removing the bandage. The midsection of Sequence’s shirt where the bandage was has been torn out to give room for the bandage, and once off, a laceration of medium depth extending from just above her navel up to the bottom of her ribcage beneath her arm was visible. The flesh and the skin was black as oil, sizzling and bubbling a bit and excreting a significant amount of black tar-like substance. Sequence grimaced and Aelinor gagged, stepping back.
  15. Aelinor stepped back and Sequence rubbed her eyes wearily before seeing Unintelligible and the Enuller. "Ah, hello again! Is this the doctor?" She paused to cough into her elbow. She came back looking a little bit dizzy. "Unintelligible... Unintelligible... We've never given you a nickname, have we? Maybe you need one... Unintell- Unintellbib- Agh. A little bit of a mouthful, don't you think?" More coughing.
  16. Aelinor nodded, holding open the door to allow them inside. "This way," she said, leading them down the dark hallway to a bedroom, where Sequence laid on the bed sleeping. Aelinor gently nudged her shoulder. "The doctor is here." Sequence groaned and sat up with a gentle fit of coughing.
  17. That gave Aelinor pause, and she turned around to look at the Enuller as well as Unintelligible. She sighed and walked up to the door, opening it. “I suppose you’re the doctor?”
  18. The door was closed, and there was no light in the cabin save for two lanterns hanging from the awning over the deck. ”Sequence is sleeping, please come back later.” Aelinor said boredly, leaning on the railing and looking out at the mountains. She was facing away from the new arrival, and didn’t turn to see who it was.
  19. The Irrational Sequence, sometimes erroneously referred to as just Sequence, was an entity of unknown origin that resided long ago in an unknown realm. It is unclear whether that realm was within The Longest Thread, or somewhere beyond. It was the origin of Sequence, Ivisyre, Fuzzy, and Cardinal. As it never achieved Narrator or even character status, not much is known about it, and it is assumed that everybody who experienced it from an outside perspective has long since perished. Additionally, its splinters retained no memories from the being other than Sequence, which is where all available information comes from. There is rumored to be a journal belonging to one of those involved in the original plot to divide the Irrational Sequence somewhere on the Thread, but there is no other information regarding its whereabouts or even confirming its existence. It was almost certainly sentient, and known to be chaotic, unreasonable, irrational, and considerably powerful. Its only drive and goal was to destroy, inflict pain, create discord and chaos, and cause general problems, sharing some similarities with Ivisyre and Sequence's Narratorgeist form. Nothing is known about its appearance. Created at an unknown time in an unknown place through unknown means for an unknown purpose, it terrorized several small civilizations across several different planets. Sometime prior to page 1513 of The Longest Thread, unknown individuals originating from one of the affected civilizations came together to devise a method to defeat the Irrational Sequence. As they were unable to conventionally kill, drive away, or permanently imprison it, the being was temporarily captured and split into two separate entities, also referred to as 'splinters', 'slivers', 'pieces', and 'movements'. Based on the quantitative understanding of the Irrational Sequence, the theory was that the 'emotions and aspects' of it would be divided among its movements equally to create creatures with a more stable balance. The two entities that resulted from the initial split were designated Gray and White . Due to inefficiencies with the process, the split was uneven and resulted in White still containing enough irrational, chaotic, and destructive power to be dangerous, so it was split into three further movements. Those three were designated Gold , Crimson , and Sapphire .
  20. "Thank you. No rush, of course, and I hope you know how much I appreciate your help." She waved to him right before he vanished. "So compassionate, don't you think?" Sequence asked the young woman at her side. She nodded absently, focused on helping Sequence inside. They led her to her room, gently helping her get into bed and inspecting Sequence's bandage before leaving the room. ~~~ Out on the porch, they leaned against the wooden railing and gazed off at the seemingly endless mountain range. They looked at their wrist, where there was a faint tattoo written in ink quite similar in shade to their own skin. Aelinor, my creation, my it read. In the deepest pits, darkest shadows, and most painful storms, always remember why you're here. Always remember that you are more special than you could ever imagine, and that you have more purpose and more to experience than you know. And always remember how strong you are. Aelinor frowned at the tattoo, rubbing at it a bit, and looked back out at the crystalline mountains with a sigh.
  21. Sequence nodded wearily. "Perhaps, perhaps... Could you help me, maybe? I haven't spoken with many Enullers, nor do I really know how I'd go about seeking the Dreamsmith for something other than a weapon." She shakily got to her feet, looking like she might fall over. Silent and mostly unmoving until now, the young woman sitting on the bench stood up to take Sequence's arm for support. "But first," Sequence said. "... I think I'd like to rest for a moment."
  22. Quick question relating to Mordite @Ookla the Bacon @Ookla the nostealnamepls @Anyone else who might have information on this subject
  23. Ahh, that makes sense, I understand now Ivisyre groaned, and continued to wait. Sequence didn't respond for a moment, as she was pre-occupied with a particularly nasty fit of coughing. When it finally subsided, she proceeded to vomit onto the deck. Wiping her mouth with her sleeve and groaning, she sat back in her chair. "Perhaps..." More coughing. "Perhaps that would be a good idea..."
