  1. , defeat was imminent. However, sticks
  2. Sequence nodded, then took a deep breath. "Well, it started with a battle. A few other Narrators and I were fighting against some withergeists, and I was vanquished, my physical form destroyed by the essence of a withergeist." She waved her hand around. "Or, however those things kill you. I found myself in a physical manifestation of my own mind, perhaps as a defense mechanism? I'd done this before, but usually on command. Anyways, this time... the withergeist that had defeated me was there. In my mind. It didn't attack me, it simply... wanted..." Sequence frowned, holding her head in her hands for a moment. "Sorry, my memory... is a bit fuzzy. It, uh... It wanted me to accept it into my soul. And at the time, I didn't realize... I didn't realize what that entailed, or what that meant. So I accepted. At first, I was still myself, just with a voice in my head. But as it convinced me to do worse and worse things, I... changed. It consumed me, bit by bit, until all I could think of was destruction. I still had my... memories, I remembered my friends and of fond things, but thinking about them just made me feel... spite, hatred, annoyance." Sequence slowly looked up to meet Malevolence's eyes. "No power on the Thread, certainly not that power, is worth such a thing." She glanced at Unintelligible. He'd seen her like that first hand, and her choice had quite literally brought his death. She sighed. "Anyways, I believe we had a deal?" She plastered on a remarkably convincing smile, though her eyes were trained on Malevolence with hard scrutiny.
  3. Sequence stiffened slightly, the light in her eyes noticeably dimming. Aelinor looked surprised for a moment, then looked at Sequence with an indecipherable expression. "I... If I answer your questions, you'll answer mine, yes?"
  4. Sequence beamed, giving Unintelligible a glance. "Thank you! Please, take as much as you'd like." She pushed the tea basket forward with her cane. "Anyways, what about the rabbits?"
  5. “Indeed I do!” She shifted in her seat, dusting off her lap. Aelinor looked tense, staring at Malevolence worriedly. “I was just hoping to learn a bit about you! Perhaps your hobbies, aspirations, and the like. My good friend Unintelligible here seems to think you’re quite dangerous, and I’d like to know why!” She leaned forward intently. “And I’d also like to know what you think of the tea,” she added with a chuckle.
  6. Sequence jumped, nearly losing her balance and leaning heavily on her cane. Aelinor immediately drew her sword and jumped between Sequence and Malevolence, her strong stance and menacing demeanor immediately betrayed by the fear in her eyes. "Goodness me!" Sequence exclaimed, waving for Aelinor to relax. "You gave me quite a fright!" She said with a laugh. She pulled up her own chair previously fashioned from some castle rubble and sat across from Malevolence. "Yes, that would be me! And I suppose you're Malevolence? I've heard much about you as well!" She said, smiling brightly and clasping her hands together. "Lovely to meet you! How are you, this fine day?"
  7. Gah! Thank you all! :D It was indeed my birthday yesterday.

Many many many many many thanks (and reps) to everyone!!

      The Wandering Wizard

Of course! Hope it went well and that life has been going well for you ^_^

  8. Sequence's expression lit up. "Didn't you say Malevolence was too dangerous to approach?" She looked excited, already arranging the bags of tea in her basket. "Should I write them a letter now, or should we try to find them first? Sorry, I very much fancy the idea of meeting somebody truly terrifying, especially after how pleasant Ruia and the Ghost turned out to be." Sequence smiled. "Not that I'm complaining, of course," she added.
  9. Aelinor, infrequently and affectionately nicknamed Allie, is the first and only avatar of the Narrator Sequence. She's quiet and reserved, still unsure of her place in the thread, though not devoid of some dry humor at times. She's quite a skilled duelist and swordsman, though she does have a bit of a temper which can impede her abilities. On the exterior, she can seem quite uninterested or distracted, though she's very observant at all times and, surprisingly, can make some decent conversation sometimes. She's tall, not as tall as Sequence but certainly not short, with shoulder length, straight, black hair that she usually ties up in a bun behind her head. Her skin is a decently dark tan, her eyes are a deep brown, and she typically dresses with dark colors to avoid attention. Following Sequence's death, she claimed the plotblade of Conflict, and she holds it to this page. She took care of and protected Sequence before she died, though she feels that she failed when it mattered most. She was created shortly after the death of Fuzzy and Cardinal and Sequence's battle with Ivisyre, as with Sequence's injury and the loss of her friends, she wanted somebody to help her out. She lived on Sequence's world with Sequence, and traveled with her for protection. Aelinor did not view Sequence with much respect for most of her life, and while Sequence felt that Aelinor was her daughter, Aelinor did not agree. Now that Sequence is gone, Aelinor finds that she misses her more than she thought she would have.
  10. "... Hm. Oh well! Probably not important. Anybody else we should speak to?" Sequence waved goodbye as they vanished. "Lovely fellow, don't you think?" She said to Aelinor with a smile. Aelinor shrugged.
  11. "Wonderful!" Sequence clasped her hands together with a smile. "I do love a good conflict resolution!" She gathered up her tea basket. "I believe that is all I require of you, my friend! Would you perhaps like some tea for the road? It does keep quite well on the shelf." Sequence offered a bag of tea leaves to the Ghost. Sequence cocked her head to the side, as if listening to something. "What's..." She turned, looking out one of the windows of the castle. "Unintelligible," she said, not turning away. "Do you... hear something?"
  12. Sequence nodded, looking a bit more relaxed. "Well, I just understand that my friend here," she placed a hand on Unintelligible's shoulder, "is quite worried about your activities and the treatment of your Machination, and because I trust him greatly, I wanted to have this meeting with you. And while your methods certainly could be a bit less intense, I certainly think that what you are doing could be much worse. Plus, I'm sure there are members of your Machination who are quite grateful for the opportunity they've been given." Sequence turned a bit to look at Unintelligible. "Hopefully this clears things up a bit?" She asked. @NameIess
  13. Sequence nodded slowly. "And... to clarify, the members of your Machination are forced to join, augmented, and become part of your organization for the purpose of.. mercenary work. If, upon being forced to join, they express displeasure, they are allowed to leave at the expense of the augmentations you had given them, as well as their memories of the exchange. Am I understanding that correctly?"
  14. Sequence's troubled expression was replaced by a thoughtful one, and it took her a moment to respond. "Define 'defecting'."
  15. Sequence's expression grew troubled as the Ghost spoke, and she nodded. "Yes, I would like to speak to them," Sequence said calmly. "But first, do you not believe in the free will and autonomy? This is not meant as an attack, I just want to see your opinion, and know whether you feel..." Sequence cocked her head to one side, thinking for a moment. "... Remorse."
  16. Sequence blinked, her expression blank. "... Oh. Ghost, do you think we could meet the other members of the Machination?" @Dragonheir
  17. And to think, I've been here for 2,041... Sequence thought for a moment, nodding as the Ghost spoke. "That seems... Innocent enough. Unintelligible, why exactly do you think the Ghost and its Machination are so evil again?" Sequence asked, turning to face him. @NameIess
  18. "How about both?" Sequence prepared some tea anyways, boiling water through Narrative means and setting out a cup just in case the Ghost changed its mind. OMG OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I MISSED IT BUT THANK YOU GUYS ... 500 more pages to 4,000, oh my god......
  19. "I would just hoping to learn a bit about you and your origins, and more specifically, about the conflict you're involved in, and your views on the matter." Sequence took a bag of leaves from her basket, inspecting it for a moment before nodding and fishing a few cups out of the basket. "Would you like some tea?" She asked with a friendly smile.
  20. "Oh, lovely!" Sequence glanced around the ruined castle with a slight frown, looking for some sort of intact furniture. Unable to find any, she waved her hand and four chairs along with a small coffee table were fashioned from the rubble. Sequence placed her tea basket on the table and sat, gesturing for the Ghost to do the same. "Wonderful to meet you, Ghost. Will the other members of your Machination be joining us?"
  21. Sequence jumped at the figure's sudden appearance, nearly toppling over on her unsteady feet. "Goodness! You certainly gave me a fright..." Sequence laughed, giving an elegant bow. "Hello! I assume you're the Machination? Or... to my understanding, the Machination is lots of beings, so perhaps you represent them?"
  22. Sequence nodded. "Especially after..." She looked around the burning castle with a frown. "All of... this." She produced a quill and parchment from a small satchel held at her waist by a strap over her shoulder. She cleared her throat, and it floated into the air to record her message. Machination, I hope this letter finds you well. I've been informed that there has been some conflict and disagreement involving you, and I would love to meet you to discuss it and see if we can't solve some of these problems. Also, I would just love to meet you in general! I don't believe I have before, and I do love making new friends! With wishes of peace, good fortune, and happiness, Sequence With a flick of her wrist, the paper was whisked off to wherever Machination may be. @Dragonheir
  23. "Sounds good to me!" Sequence said happily, gathering up her picnic/tea basket, slinging it over her shoulder, and leaning on her cane. "Where to?" Aelinor relaxed a little bit, though her hand remained on the hilt of her now sheathed sword.
  24. Sequence scratched her head. "Hm. Well, I've never had any quarrel with Desolation, do you think they would respond well if I approached them neutrally?" Sequence thought for a moment. "If they really are as dangerous as you say, perhaps it would be worth the risk to attempt to parlay." Aelinor looked disapproving, but refrained from speaking up, giving Unintelligible a pointed look.
