    What sort of special characters specifically are not allowed, or is it just all of them? Or, rather, which ones are allowed? I find it interesting that some are not allowed anymore.

    The darkness became a beam? Or did the light? One has a wildly different response than the other, and the converse.

    "I guided Thaidakar, I guided Desolation. In turn, they guided you," Darkness said softly. The shadows seemed to brighten for a moment, then turn back to darkness. A heavy power permeated the room, containing the light primarily directly around Platypus, not touching most of the room. It illiminated Thaidakar's pale, dead face however, ashen white. "I guide Thaidakar now, but not in the way you think, I would think..."

    Hey, all. Ik it's been awhile. I promise I'm continuing to work on this. I was going to post the third chapter awhile back, but a few things happened. First, I restarted the chapter several times because I really wanted to get into the character's head. Second, I've had a load of things going on in irl and have lost motivation for a few things. Third, a lot of my skill for focus puffed away, so I've had to really work on that, so sitting down to write anything has been a bother. The good news is that I'm really going to dig in and start getting writing back into the schedule 100%. At least three times a week, I'll sit down and write for a good amount of time. This'll be good for me in all aspects of my life. Now, here's the third chapter of my story! You don't have to read anything else of the book. This is an introduction for one of the two POV characters. I'm using first person for both. This is very very rough.

    Grape flavor can be bad, I admit- But I will always be fond of grape soda, grape jolly ranchers and grape juice. Any other grape flavored anything can disintegrate for all I care.

    All the above, if it feels natural and seems to be what you are both comfortable with. The worst thing to do, I think, is to insist that it should be a certain, specific way.

    You know, I've talked about a lot of different writing projects. I have some fun things here that I may start showing to y'all in the future.

    This time, as I'm genuinely trying to start having an at least half hour bit of writing time each day that I'll slowly start to extend, I'm going to get myself excited by building an outline for a story that I'm not going to write yet, but will keep in store for after I finish writing my other novel which I still want to at least have a rough draft of.

    I came up with an idea last night that I love so much that I think a lot of people would too, if I showed it to y'all. I was going to share it with y'all, but then where's the fun in that if y'all know it before that potential novel happens.

    Instead, what I'm going to do is write the outline with a bunch of the world building and ideas for the story then write a brief first chapter for it and put on here for y'all to read, to get some basic feedback on how the world building set up, magic system set up and character introductions work with y'all and apply it to the outline as much as I can.

    Oh, btw, this will probably happen in a few months, so don't expect it before then. If it comes before then, that'll be awesome, just don't think of this like a promise. 

    (Yes, I did just read the state of the Sanderson, how could you tell?)

    So, ya know how in Reckoners and such there's a multiverse?

    So what if Skyward and Rithmatist were in that universe....

    And, furthermore, what if Gran Gran in Skyward was an alternate version of Melody from Rithmatist?
