  1. No it isn't. The podcast takes place in 2021 or something according to some things it says. I can't remember exactly where the differences are, but I remember there being some distinct ones, specifically in the scenes where they talk about the times that Malhallam has killed people. The timeline on how many people and when is skewed, as is the idea of Paul's father, though I could be wrong on that last one.
  2. WELCOME BAAACK! (Don't question the following image XD. You'll sleep better that way.)
  3. @Roosif This thread, to be exact.
  4. I just got a copy of The Color of Magic and the Light Fantastic.

Why the actual frick do they smell like they were drenched in coffee-

    Like why.

If this is some way to try and get me to drink coffee, it aint workin in the slightest.

On a brighter note, my disc world collection is growing. I now own The Color of Magic, The Light Fantastic, Mort, Guards! Guards!, and Going Postal.

5 down, like fifty to go.

the smell of coffee makes me nauseous lol

      lol

It isn't even a light, slightly seductive version of the smell.

It's like concentrated coffee smell that just makes me feel nasty.

    3. Mags

      oooof

      That's kinda weird though

  5. whoa That's awesome. Now, if I did that, I'm either high on water or learned how to freeze time without ruining technology.
  6. Yeah. In my interactions with him, he's always been a great guy. And, well, if you watch/listen to Shardcast... it's a mite harder to pretend he's some kinda scary guy.
  7. "What kills someone? The sword or the hand that swings it? What brought me back, those who I guided or myself?" Darkness said ponderously from all around. The shadows moved, brushing against Platypus. They were icy cold. "Shall we begin our dance, or will we continue playing?"
  8. Yeah. Chaos isn't really that scary. If you're contacted by him and quoted by him at the same time, it's absolutely terrifying. I would know- He's scary, but way less scary than we like to pretend. It is fun to pretend, but he's a nerd like the rest of us.
  9. dang. That doesn't work then- "Fool," Darkness said softly. Thaidakar's corpse still hung there from the smoke. The instant Vengeance left the area, the smoke reconnected to the remnants still holding the corpse up. The eye split apart, letting the dagger go right through.
  10. Hi bored. I'm Thaidybear.
  11. Nothing happened. The eyes split apart and moved independently through the room. "I have no body, I have no being! My soul is the room. Does the air split when you move your blade through it? I am as the air, but with sentience."
  12. Yeah, I get that. It was... odd.
  13. Why not? I found the first two thirds or so to be captivating.
  14. Dang. I dew: dont eye! *blinks slowly and carefully* w h a t (not to what you said about him, but the fact that you pinged him)
  15. And with, say, a few more differences. But pretty much, yeah. Oh, and I pretend to be Ryan Reynolds occasionally.
  16. I am, most definitely, a nerd. Either that or a Stalker, according to that- Apparently I stalk the copy of Defiant I'm reading...
  17. how God Emperor of Dune (spoilers for that book)
  18. Someone needs to make an "undulate" counter for Brandon's books. There have been like ten uses of it in Defiant so far and I'm not even in the last hundred and fifty pages!

It should be a widget on Brandon's site lol.

Merphy needs to make another vid on it.

    2. The Wandering Wizard

      The Wandering Wizard

      Well personally

      Spoiler

I liked that Brade was the actual villain and it makes sense to me especially as you learn more in the book.

    3. Edema Rue

      Edema Rue

      Hmm...

      Spoiler

I can see how both would be good. I liked Brade, to an extent, but I wanted a little more with Winzik too.

      ALSO

      I SCUDDING KNOW

Patrick Rothfuss has such beautiful prose...and so do a lot of other books I've been reading...and the Sando is great, but he's not quite that great, not yet. *sighs* He'll get there. Hopefully.

      Spoiler

I feel like he's kinda gone back in his growth as a writer of prose. I liked his prose in a lot of other stories, but this one- *breaths*
